Hey! I would probably add one over head and one snare or kick mic. Overhead - se7 is a cheap and great mic. Sm57 for snare is also very cheap and versatile. The industry standard (for the most part) on snares. Any small diaphragm condenser is good for overheads. I almost would suggest a pair of overheads if you’re only using 2 mics. A pair of spaced se7 will sound great if using only 2. Don’t use sm57 as overheads. Hope this helps! They also have a 4 channel focus rite that is affordable, as another option. Or, Beringher has a cheap 8 channel interface that sounds good too ($200-$250 range)

@@katie8909definitely a pair of se7 overheads, and then an sm57 for the snare, and an SE V Kick for the bass drum. I have a shire beta 52 bass drum mic I planned to sell soon; if you have any interest. It’s in like new condition.

@@katie8909ooh; I would definitely jump on the Behringer ADA8200, it’s currently on sale for $149 on Amazon and is an 8 channel interface. I use one connected to my focusrite to give me 16 total channels. It sounds great for the price. If you look on my channel and the see the video for “white box don’t start a fire” I used that interface by itself for that track

No im recording onto logic on my Mac Studio. The iPad lets me use a remote control for logic (letting me hit record or turning off record on certain tracks, etc) but doesn’t actually record. I used to record onto my iPad with garage band, but I’ve moved onto logic on my Mac. The iPad just helps so I don’t have to get up and press record on my Mac on the other side of the room. If you’re interested, I list my interface, mics, drums, cymbal snares etc in the description of the video. Thanks for checking it out!

Hey! I didn’t see your comment initially. Thanks! I play for whatever the song calls for and sometimes use more of the kit than others. I recently began recording with Logic Pro on my Mac, and use Focusrite 18i20 3rd gen capture the sound. I use different microphones but I list those out in the descriptions of the videos. They change occasionally but my latest setup is going to be staying put. The recordings sound so good! I then mix the audio in logic before syncing it up with the video. My camera is simply an iPhone 12 Pro! And my videos with two cameras are the iPhone 12 Pro and also an iPhone 12 mini. My drum room is well lit from above, with no extra lighting added. I definitely do some work editing and mixing the audio (panning, eq, compression, and various other plugins depending on what’s needed) and then I blend my snare recording with a trigger sound. So you hear partially the snare trigger and partially the actual recording I made. I do my videos in one take (I start over if needed and never stitch together multiple takes) and then I add the iPhone video and Logic Pro audio into Final Cut Pro to sync them together. My older videos were much simpler, recorded on my iPhone and then garage band on iPad for audio. I didn’t have many editing options there at all. Then I would sync the two together using I movie. I have some tutorials on my channel about how I did those. But what I’m saying is you can do the same without as much work as I’m currently doing. I enjoy the extra work I’m doing on there now as it helps me improve my mixing abilities and the end result sounds much better. I appreciate the kind words.
