Panzer Weekend 2024
During the 7th and 8th of September the Ypres Panzer Crew were invited by our Swiss friends of the Militar - und Festungsmuseum Full-Reuenthal to attend their Panzer Weekend 2024 event. The following footage is an overview of the different vehicles contributing to the dynamic display. Our crew was happy to lend a helping hand over the course of the weekend, keeping the race track wet followed by mud cleaning duty on Sunday evening.
If you are a tank enthusiast and happen to be in Switzerland, the museum is well worth the visit. It offers a large collection of Swiss and international military vehicles. The footage you are seeing is only a small fraction of what they have to offer. So visit them if you ever get the chance, you will not be dissapointed!
Big thanks to our Swiss museum friends for having us over!

This video was shot during early April when we decided to move our restored Churchill MkIV 'Minotaur' out of the restoration hall to the display hall. Besides the short move to install the turret, this is the first time Minotaur was moved (though unfortunately not under it's own power as its missing the engine). Its also the first time it got some sun after spending the past 6 years in hangar I...

A couple of weeks ago we embarked on a road trip to visit a small museum in the north of Holland. It's special as they not only have one but two Churchill tanks, a Mk II and a Mk VII Crocodile. A symptom of the British Army, besides abject poverty is its historically uncharacterisic lack of inventiveness and adaptability. The Corps used to be the home of invention and thirst for innovation. It has a long history of continuous development, seeking to make best use of emergent technology. At a guess, wartime austerity and post war financial constraints, combined with preparing to fight THE enemy, rather an enemy, slowly killed the inspiration present in Cent, to the osified CR2. Perhaps we need a new study group to rethink the Armoured vehicles required to: deal with enemy direct fire platforms; suppress or kill massed enemy infantry; provide close support; mobility support; kill the full range of enemy air platform and weapons etc.

When I was a kid in the 1950s, there was an M-4 High Speed Tractor in a junkyard near my home. It remained there until the mid ‘60s. My dad was in the 2nd Armored and trained with Patton in California. Dad drove a half-track in this exercise. Later, he crewed 155mm howitzers pulled by the M-4 Tractor.
