A Train in the Rain - CN Q108 Rolls through Belleville, Ontario
A gloomy day at the cottage turned into a trip to Belleville, Ontario for some shopping. Martin, of course, was having none of that; so he managed to get himself dropped off at the Belleville VIA station instead, for a couple of hours of railfanning. He caught five VIA trains and two freights during this time, which is exactly seven more trains than he was expecting to catch on this day.
The first freight was CN Q108, a container train that runs from Vancouver to Montreal. Two GE ET44ACs were the power on this day, as it hauled 111 wells eastward. Apologies from Martin for the camera work. He usually does much better; but a combination of the rain, surprisingly cold hands and an unfamiliar location made this first freight catch a little below our usual standards. A train is still a train, no matter what the circumstances.

We had to be up bright and early for this one! CPKC 231 pulled into London very early on this day with a special tribute unit.
