Tweezers by Juan Tamariz
Tweezers, a dual phased two-card-monte routine from Juan Tamariz, is undoubtedly one of the best monte routines you can perform. The routine is designed for absolute fairness - the magician removes two black tens to act as “tweezers,” while a spectator freely selects an Ace and court-card of contrasting color. What happens next is a slow-paced swindle that belongs in every performer’s repertoire.
The relaxed manner and presentational style of Tamariz is what makes this piece so special. Tweezers offers a rare opportunity to sit down with arguably the greatest living magician and improve your magic ten-fold.

After years of waiting, Juan Tamariz, one of the greatest minds in magic, is finally prepared to share more treasures from his inner secrets. Although best known for his stack, Mnemonica, Three of Clubs offers new insight into a principle that first appeared on the world’s stage more than one-hundred years ago. What begins as a benign card trick climaxes with a change that will fool the seasone...
Bad Luck by Juan Tamariz
Переглядів 46 тис.9 років тому
Juan Tamariz brings us another phenomenal effect. The spectator chooses four cards from a shuffled deck - red are good luck and black are bad. Card after card is turned over and revealed to be black, to the shared chagrin of the magician and the spectator. As the trick culminates, the magician visually changes all the black cards to red, bringing good luck to everyone. Bad Luck is an excellent ...
so slick! such a "simple" trick but he just does it so flawlessly
who thought of this first? this is the funniest change ever
*The first and second time he shows the Three of Clubs, the pips (corners) are Clubs. The last time, it is Spades. It's a gimmick card, and I hate gimmick tricks.*
*when you watch this at 0.25x speed, you NEVER EVER want to hear the words **_"I make like theeze"_** again.. EVER*
Cazzo di color change ha fatto???😮😮😮
Dont look like a Tamariz thing using this kind of gimmick, but as everything he does, looks great!
Tapping the card 3 times I bet it gets the suite to shift being that it’s probably a trick deck for sure.
What's funny is I probably never would have noticed the gimmick if the doofus who edited the original video didn't decide to do a weird jumpcut at 1:59 for no reason whatsoever. Just so unnecessary.
Simply my favourite magician in the world. Leaving aside his unbelievable technical abilities, what an amazing character! So thankful that Tamariz never managed to learn a better English, his way of expressing himself is just so cool!
NOOOOOOOOOO....
worst palming I have seen
As if you can do it better
Obviously you know nothing about card magic
Perfection
Somethin fishy at slow mo that card fkn changed 😢
Big fan of card magic & Tamariz, but this was.. well. Let's just not talk about how poorly this one was executed. I don't believe any one of them didn't notice he was consistently throwing a different card. Maybe the first or second time you'd miss it, but latest at the 3rd time everyone can see it. Interesting idea but .. yeah.
1. The Maestro forces the 3S 2. One of the 3S has holes in the shape of spades. The Maestro takes the advantage of the "Black" Magic Pad's background to place the card with the holes to show the transformation 3. He then quickly replaces it with the proper 3S card and then hands it over to prove it's not gimmicked. I've read Maestro's books and Dani DaOrtiz and Lennart Green's collections. I'm sorry to say that while I admire The Maestro, his evident action of trying to prove the card isn't gimmicked disappointed me a bit.
The 6 clubs on second place make the magic
At 0.25 speed you will see the 3♣️ turn into the 3♠️ even slower. If that’s not a gaff card (and knowing Juan it’s most definitely not), I’m fooled by the maestro as usual
It's definitely a gaffed card! You can see the pips are a 3 of Spades before it changes and can see the cut outs
Very difficult to make the gimmick card and no one notices the "holes", you need to be quite far away
Presentation is not diverse! Magicians copy each other consistently - most are boring
I noticed a red light in moment of "transformation "
I think the video is edited for higher contrast so we don't see the cut out card (see previous comment) and this added some color transformation, but no red lights
Is this some kind of joke? Tamariz keeps throwing the *bottom card* (not the middle card) belonging to the trio of cards onto the table - is this what happens when you get too old?
I certainly can't see it happening, even though I know that's the case - and of course, it's part of the routine.
Yes, I'm sure he could do better when he was younger. That part is too obvious even for an outsider non-magician to see. Also is the part where he secretly bent the corner of the 10 and didn't restore the A to the full.
U must have a lot of friends
What the heck did I just see?!! Watched the transformation over and over. That’s just real magic.
It must be some gimmick. But to me, the last reveal was not the real magic.
There is a red light in the moment of "transformation", mmmh?
@@PDeRop Its a gimmick. If you watch closely you can spot it, but it's a great effect.
@@PDeRop It definitely is. I found it, but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone.
great and clean ! Thanks for the share
what the fuck
Fuckk the clean up was amazing ❤❤
WTF did I just watch...
He's so beautiful!
Amazing!
Great! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
sad that a so called great magician has to resort to this rather than umpteen basic sleight of hand ways to achieve the same effect.
You must be joking.
You have zero idea who you’re talking about. He cares about people an moments-not some fleeting criticism from the margins.
lol it's JUAN TAMARIZ! Generally accepted (by people who know what they're talking about) as the greatest living close up magician. The man is a genius (read his books).
Wait what the fuck???🤯
This guy ! 👏👏👏👍🏼
Awesome !
The guys a ledge ! I’m sure I got one from Blackpool MC one year I’ll have to dig it out !
Hey DN Trix!
Is that a gimmick???? I’ve never seen a color change like that. Juan doesn’t use gimmicks that I know of. But then again I don’t own all of his books…yet. This dude and Dani Daortiz are literally next level.
Light reactive ink.
Jaja grande Tamariz!
How is that even possible I m watching it for the 5 th time at 0.25 x howww ??????
WTH
Damnit that was a good idea. Transformate!
Damnit that was a good idea. Transformate!
Haha i watched it 5 times and I see what’s happening.. so clever!!!!👌
Do you really though? Because I can't figure it out even slowed down.
After further review, my best guess is that the card is gimmicked. I have an idea of how, but I also can't be entirely certain. However, he really leaves nothing to be seen.
Infraestuctocho, Infraestructuchu...
even his wife is shocked... simply the best. Legend
That shit is impossible.
Slow it down to the farthest possible and you can't make out a single shit
It is a card with 3 of spades cut into it. It is above a 3 of clubs and the 3 of clubs comes through the cut out. When it is taken out, it is slid onto a dark mat which makes it seem like a 3 of spades but it is actually a white card with a 3 of spades template cut out.
@Tim Evanchick yeah, it's a trick card that he 'converts' to spades by tapping the hell out of it. Still a great trick. He then shoves that one into the deck and ultimately pulls out the 'real' 3 of spades for everyone to look at.
There's a light that shows up when hes tapping the card
Yeah, that means something, maybe
@@RodrigoSilvaDiaz must be one of those magic electronic playing cards.
Wow. 20 times I just watched it
That's really smooth?
As you can see starting at minute 3:37 he keeps putting his left hand below the table in this way he can get 4 cards hiding below the table and arrange it in his hands
Well so what? What do you want us to do about it?
@@thegreathawk3659 Demand your money back of course! 420
@@kingrobert1st Bull-Shit!
That's not the trick lol
Man, you are smart. A real genius.
Master, you are great!
