    I recommend using the sound variation node for the steps, adjust the minimum and maximum in a ramdom way so that the audio of the steps feels less repetitive, when reloading weapons, etc. I loved your work :3

    Just pure opinion based feedback (you can disregard since its just an opinion): I think this feels too "tutorial-like". I know it's a tutorial and that the intention is to teach the mechanics, while driving the user to the start of the campaign. I also know it's a linear game. Still, it felt that the mechanics were there JUST for the tutorial and nothing else. It's good practice and great for showing how to level design, but it also makes mid-core and hardcore gamers lose the imersion. I believe the best solution is to add a bit of story telling to those elements, like half-life does. Make the mechanic appear without text and add an obvious path that allows the user to experiment with it immediately, but maybe not forcing the user in this first moment, like doom does. Then ahead you force the user. And for the elements themselves, add some justification of why they are there. That indeed can be done through art but you can also do it in blocking. For example, why there are 3 bars there? Maybe instead of 3 random swing bars, add many more bars and add electrical posts or structural metal from an old building there. Instead of the wood logs and poles. For the climbing after, why theres a cable there? If that is a place people go to use the cable for fun, then add some broken ladders to climb, instead of stone notches... stuff like that. Add meaning to things, this will hel immersion.

      Another detail: make the last zipline more orthogonal to the town, so the user can see it without having to turn the camera too much to the left.

    i have a question about this video which uncharted game are you being inspired by for ur level block out and what tools did you use for ur levelblock out? and i enjoy uncharted 1-3 but haven't played uncharted 4 and uncharted lost legacy yet :)

    • @eryklvl
      @eryklvl 2 місяці тому

      @@mcfluffy28655 i actually only played uncharted 4 for about 1-2 hours and thats it . So i guess its inspired by uncharted 4 but yeah i think as soon as i feel a games vibe i am able to recreate it somewhat

    • @mcfluffy28655
      @mcfluffy28655 2 місяці тому

      @@eryklvl do you recreate it via screenshots and video footage or just screenshots only? and what type of research do you do for recreating or remaking and being inspired by said game? am quite curious and would love to see a video of that if possible going more behind the scenes of that :) P.S sorry the comment is a little bit long

    The raw focus on gameplay and blocking out the map is really cool. You nailed it with the classic “see the destination out in the horizon but get redirected through an obscure path” gameplay that I’ve seen since Half Life 2.

    Audio's already doing so much work holy shit. Although with such sheet box edges are you not worried making natural looking stone cliffs will be a challenge when it comes time to dress this up? You've got some nice rock assets in already but I mean the graybox surfaces.
