Bergen Kunsthall is a centre for contemporary art and presents exhibitions and events by international artists. Landmark is our vibrant strand of live events that includes concerts and club nights. We organize a broad range of learning activities and debates open to everyone. Established as Bergens kunstforening in 1838, the Kunsthall is based in an early functionalist building designed by the architect Ole Landmark in 1935, with gallery spaces, a café and a bookshop.
Bergen Kunsthall is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the City of Bergen and Hordaland County.

Plattform: Katya García-Antón
On the occasion of Ni Musmut (It’s Breezing) by Edgar Calel, Bergen Kunsthall invites you to a talk by Katya García-Antón. García-Antón will discuss the creative practice of Calel, and how his perspectives on the relations of kinship between humans, earth and all its elements, challenge Western epistemologies and systems of value. The talk will focus on the new works he has made in situ for his exhibition in Bergen Kunsthall, one of which is made with his family, and how they highlight the artist´s engagement with the Mayan Kaqchikel cosmovision, the notion of ritual as a form of research and practice, as well as the connections Calel establishes between these concepts and practices to other cultural contexts.
Katya García-Antón is an art historian, curator, writer and researcher based in Oslo. She has worked in Museo Nacional Reina Sofía Madrid, ICA London, IKON Birmingham and was director of Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève. In Biennale Arte Venezia, she curated the Spanish Pavilion, Dora García (2011), the Nordic Pavilion, Camille Norment (2015), and cocurated the transformation of The Nordic Pavilion into The Sámi Pavilion (2022). His shirt is torn I n the sleeve was he poor😢
This is so beautiful!! But please check the spelling of the words in the subtitles... :( It has many mistakes!
What would become of the human if expressed by the elements?
Stewart Lee invented grindcore?
hahahah, was just gonna say the same 😀
She's Beautiful

I'm in love!
Phenomenal performance thinker
Heidegger was expressly against metaphysics. He would be rilled up to hear that he was called a metaphysician!
Really interesting. I’m a bit disturbed by the take of Venus of willendorf… I suppose art is supposed to make the listener uncomfortable. I can confirm that I’m very uncomfortable!
ladies and gentlemen, this is the architect speaking in the matrix with a new skin and texture.
Thank you for putting this up on youtube!
Awesome. The man who started the grindcore, bed the knee.
Brilliant as always. So basically, where that anarchism is coming from and where it is headed makes a world of difference. That’s alright by me. But I’m afraid this intentionality can’t be controlled. Even anarchists are divided into various groups among themselves. How many anarchists will actually want to do away with their privilege in this unworlding…
This reminds me of the experience of improvising to a large screen moving image. The sense was of being overwhelmed by it, and of not being able to get the energy to measure up to it. This video was a good idea, but I wonder how workable this is, given the massive takeover of perception of huge visuals.
Either go with the flow or layout. What's the big deal?
The big deal is being a student of music. @@jessenowells2920
Yees... Skip, cut, dislike.
I would propose to work on the captions - they pretty inaccurate which hinters the talk
this feels like a fever dream
Giitu!💙💚💚🙏🏻❄️
amazing
I accidentally dropped my guitar, the sound of it crashing to the floor was more musical than this.
Thanks for sharing this, Alvin is a treasure!
Thank you very much for sharing this fascinating conversation!
Load of shite
cringe
I double down on that comment. Watching this guy trying to lecture some pseudo-intellectual psycho babble about grindcore culture and vocalisation is painful. You were a founding member of a new genre of music, isn’t that enough? Now we gotta listen to this midlife crisis garbage. I mean come on.
Thanks for posting. I love Alvin Curran's music and it was great to hear this talk. I really hope to see him perform.
Genius
I do find the part on the witch unearthing the corpses and feeding on dirt so erotic and plunged into the mysteries of ancient inexplicable rites that I am about to buy the book today. Thank you so much for sharing this content with us.
Thank you all [three of you.]
I like how Tuttle had to initiate the clap. They just came for the free wine.
Look! No comment! Tuttle is dried up! Thank Allah!!
fr bruh
I forgot about Richard Tuttle and I will forget him again!
Thank you for sharing this. ❤❤❤❤
please stop quoting frances stark . you are losing credibility each time you do.
Well. That was not what I was expecting
you have created a super enjoyable music experience.Congratulation Charlotte!! keep up like this
Extraordinary inventions! Thank you for the generous posting,
All the commentators to this piece of Art are enthusiastic about the beauty, the audacity, as well as the humour of it! Thank you, filmmakers, thanks to the whole crew, to the actors, and to everyone who helped funding it!
Elaine!!!!!
Aveek Sen passed away a few days back. He succumbed to COVID. He was 56.
That is very sad to hear. Our deepest sympathies.
I'm shocked and deeply saddened to hear. Aveek taught me at Oxford. He was a wonderful person and teacher, so warm, funny and down-to-earth. I still have vivid memories of him.
@@bernicetang4358 could you share some of those memories with me?
theres a picture of his i want to ask you about where can i reach you

Unlike any other book I have read this year. Difficult to put the right way up, let alone down. Witch is in control, and strongly feminine; both deeply visceral, and intellectual, too.
