NRLW Weekly Wrap featuring Kiana Takairangi Prelim finals
I remember growing up Chris Johns was one of the few players who played for New South Wales or was from Sydney but played for Brisbane. The rest of the Brisbane squad were mainly all Queenslanders. Lazarus and Matterson were the others who came from New South Wales.

Hello
I would have Clint Gutherson in the top 5 fullbacks Parramatta has ever had. He's not in the same league as Thornett or Hayne but he's up there. I remember when he came to Parramatta from Manly, he started on the wing and played a couple of games there. I never thought he would go on to play over 200 games for the club, become the captain, become the 5th highest try scorer in the club history. He was the heart and soul of the team for many years and he will be missed.
That were actually one of my earliest rugby league memories as well, the 1992 or 1993 NSWRL Grand Final between St. George and Brisbane.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory I remember watching I think it might have been both of those GFS at an Irish pub in emu plains near Penrith. I was underage so not drinking but was there.
I remember researching the Parramatta/Penrith merger. It almost happened, but I think it's better that it didn't. If it did go ahead though, it would be a very strong club/team, especially with some of the players both teams have these days.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory yeah thank god it didn’t go ahead. But your right Parra could have won another 5 comps if they did 😀
He was a good player and to hold the record appearances for two decades is a good achievement.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory yeah probably one of those players who was a bit underrated I think. Came through in a tough era to get more rep jerseys.
You are making amazing video content. I just watched the video and your video quality is appreciable. I am so impressed by your content, I was analyzing your channel and noticed that You are struggling with video views and video ranking. May I share some tips on how you can achieve your goals?
@@UA-cam-SEO-Master-5k yes please do
@@theparracavepodcast Thanks for your reply. How can I Contact You?
Here is a question rate the 2024 panthers to the 84 Canterbury Bankstown team they are not the greatest team of all time they are the greatest team in the nrl era since 98 look at the rules of today manly of 78 suited a ref certain teams suit certain refs that dogs pack would eat them alive
Let me look into that and ill get back to you about it.
The king gave his soul if he can get employment elsewhere like a 3 year deal so be it I would like him to stay in 25 if not he will hand over the torch I was surprised that ba did not use him in the centres next to sivo you could play bailey at fullback
I'm just glad Penrith won. Anyone or anything over Melbourne winning it.
I think everyone is tipping Melbourne and Penrith to advance but hopefully we get a shock.
Finals are not the same when your own team isn't there.

Storm Will Smash the Dolphins At AAMI Park
It were always going to be a mismatch against Easts with all the players Parra had out.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory yep for sure it was going to be hard. And it proved that.
The Parra Cave Podcast, hosted by Troy Worner with special guest Ella.
What a talented player. a lot of players were doing head highs on him. Adam didnt complain, hed just get up again and carry on if he could.
@@FrightF yeah a big shake his career got cut early

That was a good interview. So the stories of going to Wollongong on the week of the 2001 Grand Final were true.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory thanks mate for listening. Probably my number one Uk 🇬🇧 listener. Just shows you the importance of routine for big occasions doesn’t it.
I don't think that there is really much difference between Moses and Gutherson as captain. Both of them have the same temperament to me or attitude. At the moment I don't think we have any other candidates that are suitable for captain so Moses might be put as captain and Gutherson would be vice captain.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory no I don’t there is much of a difference as well to be honest on the field.
Thanks for including my stat.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory not a problem. Credit should be due where credit is due.
BS should have been shown the door after the 01 GF, he can get you there, but cannot and has been able to get over the last hurdle!
I met Terry Hill at Flemington Markets. It was great seeing, meeting and talking to the man himself. We had lots of banter, back and forth. Overall he had an awesome character.
Love this. Unfortunately I never got to meet the great man but loved his footy career and on the footy show.
Troy is throwing all his cards on the table this week.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory sure am. The way my tipping is going this week I need to.
Storm will win in Melbourne
Roosters will lose
@@williampearson2073 only time will tell I guess. Should be a good game.
It looked like the Gold Coast had a game plan of attacking Lorenzo Mulitalo and Tago which worked for them. I guess Parramatta did well to come back after being 18-0 down but still.....it's another loss.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory yes it probably was as well which is smart considering one was making his debut and one had played only one game. Parra did ok to comeback from 18 nil down but in the NRL you can’t be doing that and winning games.
I feel like brian smith would have been a huge step backwards and ended up like the latest tim sheens debacle
Welcome to the Parra Cave Podcast and now to your host Troy Worner, broadcasting worldwide from the world famous Parra Cave.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory don’t ya love it 😍 how will I go in my tips this week?!
It is not who I would have appointed but I will get behind him. Hopefully he can prove some of the doubters wrong.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory who would you have appointed? But yes we need to get behind Jason and support him and hopefully results will come.
@@theparracavepodcast I think it were after the 2021 finals series loss to Penrith or maybe earlier (I forget), but I said that Brad Arthur had done a good job but he just couldn't get us to that next level. At the time I suggested Shane Flanagan should be approached as he wasn't with anyone at that time, a lot of people were against it saying "We don't want a druggie coaching us" and all this stuff. Well look now, Flanagan has got a St. George team who have a far worse roster than ours playing better.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory agree I rate Shane Flanagan as a coach. There were more people involved at the time at the Sharks but your right what a job he has done this year with the Dragons.
Thanks for the shout out and reading out my comment.
@@RugbyLeagueHistory not a problem mate. Love your work and thanks for asking a question.

Time for the Blues to own Suncorp Stadium 13 v 13 and they can and should win
Absolutely 💯 too long between drinks. It will be difficult as it always is but I think because it has been so long since NSW won a decider up there it will change especially if NSW play the way they did in Melbourne and take the crowd out of it.

Melbourne 💯 knew about the salary cap breaches in terms of the players knowing. There was a few players including Cronk, Slater, Smith etc who all signed two contracts, one with a lower amount which was submitted to the NRL and the real contract they were on. Even if hypothetically they didn't know, you would still realise that you were getting paid more than what you signed on at the time.
Yes this is true that perhaps the players did know they were getting more then what they signed on for but what I was saying that Cronk for example wouldn’t have known what Smith was on as one would assume players wouldn’t divulge that info to each other.
I really enjoyed this episode.
Thanks mate really appreciate that. What did you enjoy about it the most?

We’re not losing to the dolphins
Good luck I think the game of the round.
Was a good game. The Storm certainly didn’t smash the Dolphins though.
Storm will smash the dolphins
Don’t be surprised though if the Dolphins turn up in this one.
Nice interview.
Thanks mate. I really enjoyed it to. I think I had a good connection with David and it flowed well.
Very interesting episode. I am with Robert on the not liking Melbourne thing.
Yeah always love talking to Americans and find out their love of rugby league. I don’t like Melbourne too much either. A team I want to beat all the time.
Storm will win over the warriors
Will be a good game that’s for sure. SJ back for the Warriors.
i came here just to hear his story about that footy card. he says he was in the wrong place at the wrong time..idk i would say opposite, its quite a unique & funny card to have.
