That's a wrap for the season! Glad I was able to summit 3 pnw volcanoes this year (St Helens, Baker, Adams). Looking forward to the next season in just 4 months!
4 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS IN A VOLCANO
Переглядів 2983 роки тому
Mt Baker - the second most active volcano is the Cascade Range, holds a special place in many of PNW local's heart. This year in late May, I signed up for a splitboard mountaineering course with @proguidingservice at Mt Baker. During the 4 days of the course, we got to summit Mt Baker, revisit splitboard touring basics, and practice crevasse rescue and splitboard mountaineering skills. Special ...

May 9, 2021 Mother's Day - We ski mountaineered St Helens in dresses! Following the PNW tradition. Despite being such a popular activity here in PNW, this is my first time climbing Mt St Helens. Unfortunately it was cloudy and white-out on top so I didn't get to see the crater. But hey - that calls for a another visit in the future!

Epic! Great breakdown of what to expect. Hoping to do an accent and ski descent if Rainier this year 🎉
How are you
Im 9 days post op and I literally cried watching this. So much relatable.
How is your knee after 3 years? I will be doing surgery ACL+Miniscus.
Thank you so much for this video
watching this in tears. I have to have ACL surgery, too. I've never needed surgery before! Right now I feel so restricted and exhausted from limping everywhere. I'm watching videos to help me see what I can look forward to. I know this is an older video but thank you for sharing your journey.
I am 8 day post acl surgery. I torn acl and mcl from ski. Your video really give me strength. Your confidence is amazing to push your limit
it does get better bro! hang in there
I just blew my acl yesterday I fear I can’t not go back doing freeride..
Beautiful!
Hi Mandy, best wishes : I’m in the same boat, and in fact only learned snowboarding after ACL surgery. However I haven’t protected my meniscus well - kid a wished I kept a brace of my ACL knee anytime I did something knee straining.

Hello, how did rest of your 2020 Riding season go after surgery go? Were you able to ride multiple days in a row with the knee brace? Were you able to ride without the brace by end of the season? I snapped my ACL in Jan 2023 while skiing, but I didn't know about it and I was able to ride without much pain all Feb and March (surgery is on my right/rear leg for snowboarding). After a spring slush weekend in April, I believe I tore my medial and lateral meniscus which caused extended pain. I got MRI in May and got ACL replacement and meniscus repair in June. I was walking without aid in 1 week and had full range of motion on my knee after 1.5 weeks. It was actually tough holding myself from trying more during months 1-3. I started walking over 1 mile by 3 month and was doing short hikes 3-5 miles by month 4. I had minimal pain. One strange effect was that I had more lingering annoying pain when I bend my knee after PT session, but not much pain after hikes. After being forced to be cooped up inside most of summer and fall, I think it is bad for my mental health to not ride this season. November comes and ski resorts start opening up. I went to a few cruising session with my friend on SB. I don't have any real pain, but I have same lingering annoyance on my knee when I bend them for about 4 days after light riding. Same symptom as my PT session and my doctor is saying it is inflammation that is causing the annoyance when I bend my knee. He recommends that I don't ride this season, but I think he knows I will and have prescribe me a similar knee brace (I got measured for it this week and will receive it next week). I have long weekend trips starting in January and I hope I can ride multiple days by then and ride in trees by February. From your experience, do you think it will be possible with knee brace?

Torn my ACL about 10 days ago, going for surgery next month after acute phase is over. I shall try my best to come back to this comment to describe my experience. In case I forget, someone please reply to this comment after 1-2 years, so that I get a notificatio and can reply to it! We are strong!!!
I will very likely have to have surgery on my knee. Would you say surgery was worth it in the end?
Blown my acl 3 times , ride park without one now
Which graft they used for you? Was it imternal fiber tap surgery?
That brace is helpful?

Mandyyyy, you are such a gem of a person. Thank you so much for this video. It filled me with hope, motivation and positivity. I had my acl reconstruction and meniscus repair 3 weeks back. Still a long way to go but I'm exercising regularly and seeing your video was the best decision. Hope you are doing well. Take care. Keep on doing the great work.
Hi,I had ACL SURGERY in November 2022,it's been around 7months and I'm still limping while running,Is it normal?I'm really worried

没想到同一天在shasta,遗憾错过;大概到red bank 10:50。congrants!能留个微信吗?
This helped, day 3 of acl reconstruction and bucket handle meniscus repair. Ive been having same feelings these first couple days. Hopefully i progress like you did, this is very mentally challenging as well on top of physical. Been taking slow, dont want to have any set backs. Going to start doing more leg lifts day 4 with little more knee bend
Congrats on the summit!
This is so relatable! I'll will have my ACL reconstruction within a month or so. I'm nervous but determined to get stronger than before ❤️💪🏼 Thanks for sharing your story and thoughts. Lots of love 💗
All are flash
Thanks for sharing your journey. Just had my right ACL reconstructed today.
Your videos have given me so much hope! Thank you! I have my 2nd ACL surgery in another week and I feel so pumped up now. 💪🏼
上山要多久?
This was exactly what happened to me, and I'm now after 2 years of my surgery, still Snowboarding, today my knee is sore à bit, keep pushing, never give up!!
My story: First time skiing at 19yo, my uncle taught me and was an expert, he saw i was a natural (i play hockey) and went from green to blue and in that blue run went down double black and forced me down. I was dumb and did it and popped it going down. I researched any possibility to go on a mountain again because of my new love for the sport and decided snowboarding was safer for my knee but riskier for other minor injuries that really don't seem as bad as an acl tear. Now I snowboard and miss skiing :/ I am not sure if I should try skiing or continue. Human really is too fragile.
I ski and snowboard. I was able to snowboard without ACL on my rear leg (I didn't know it snapped) 2-3 weeks after the injury. I don't think I will be able to ski for at least 1-2 years, but I was able to do light snowboarding 5 month after surgery.
Hi Mandy! I am 6 months post op at the moment. Can’t snowboard at the moment. Who did clear you for going to snowboarding? Also, what did they check to know that you could go snowboarding? Best!
Nice video! Thanks
Thank you, I am preparing for ACL reconstruction and this made me feel so much better to watch you progress! I will definitely try to get out of the house and see my friends as soon as I can to care for my mental health
I feel like not having a selfie stick would have been a good idea. Focus on the run instead of filming yourself. Good job though.
i have finished my acl +meniscus surgery before 4 days ago.its very painful and i am lie in the bed right now...

Outside of the fun time in the trees how would you rate the upper hill technically? Definitely on my list to snowboard but I'm not an expert boarder (yet)!
you snowboard down the coleman deming glacier?
I'm 2 weeks post-op! I barely have 50 degree flexion but the extension is good. Still can't raise my leg one bit though. I know it's difficult but let's keep going! We'll get through this 👊
wow you started walking without crutches pretty fast. i’m 3 weeks post op and still use crutches. i’m working on 90 degree bend right now
#3 day for me after surgery on Monday. Your experience helping me a lot. Thank you again.
