I'm in that situation. Overworked, under paid, mistreated. The restaurant industry sucks. You can have everyone's responsibilities without a leadership title. The abuse and hour fuckery is horrible. I'm making the change to get out of this position.

I worked at a security company I was the only flex guard for 5 years my company broke just about every labor board law possible I worked over 100 hours a week had 2 hour naps between each shift in my personal vehicle had a duffel bag full of work uniforms on me I was promised a promotion for 4 years received nothing promises of finding me help were made by my company but never kept the straw that broke the camels back and made me go borderline psycho was they were late on 4 paychecks and I was injured at the workplace but was told since I was off duty after hours and in the adjacent parking lot not part of the contract so I could not recieve any compensation that alone killed the job for me I busted my ass for years for an untrustworthy security company that shits on its employees and doesn't even have the god damn decency to lie and call it brown paint I told my boss to go fuck himself that day called hr and and told them what a useless manager he was and spilled the beans about his massive cocaine addiction then I called every contract holder I worked under at this security company and told them I the only flex guard on duty for the last 5 years quit due to not being paid on time 4 times by my employers and told the contract holders everything of my treatment by this company via email within 4 days I was receiving about 20 calls an hour from the head office with threats of lawsuits for telling the contract holders everything turns out I was there most important employee the entire city of modesto cut ties and switched providers because of my email and word spread like a California wild fire thousands and thousands of dollars were lost due to the contract holders cutting ties and the boss I reported for frequent substance addiction issues with my company received a promotion and was brought to the head office modesto the employees who worked with me were so angry and vengeful after going through the same treatment as me they torched my bosses car and 20 people quit on the spot and left my company received a massive black eye and the law suits are still poring in id rake them over the coals more if I could but honestly I think the cold hearted brainless bastards have suffered enough at this point

Man I've been so sick of culinary just quit a cooking job because they hired me for full time but I barely got 25, ive got experience in the trades so I found a labor gig and walked the fuck out. Kitchens can be fun or absolute hell but at this point in my life I just want a easy job where I punch in out and get my 40.

I did a job like that before period the work is all day left every dish from the whole day. They did nothing they were supposed to do on the 1st shift. I got stuck with all the dishes from Both shifts. I would have to work 4 hours overtime. Everyday. Because nobody did their work. I didn't get paid for overtime but was expected to do the work. Even though it wasn't my shift's work.I want night decided to leave them with my shifts work. I was just gonna walk off the job. So I worked that night. Only I didn't clean up anything either. They had a problem with that but they didn't realize I was not coming back. It's too bad because I liked all the people. But I am not doing 2 or 3 shifts at a time all by myself. For some reason most jobs I was always stuck with all the work and do an extra hours for no pay. Another job I would leave at 3:00 in the morning get to work stop 3 hours early leave 3 to 4 hours late and I only got paid for the regular hours. It'll be surprised how many jobs take advantage of people. And when you don't do it they harass you and bully you and abuse you. And then I've also seen people who go to work and never work but somehow they expect the elder people to take over all the jobs because these kids won't freaking work when they're there..

I recently quit my kitchen job at a retirement home. When I started as a prep cook in a different place, if I was more than 10 minutes late, I'd get stuck with dish detail. In exchange I wouldn't be written up or disciplined. Fair enough right? New place I was a prep cook was a retirement community. They mistreated their dishwashers so bad. In August of 2021 when I started, they had 6. By October, they had 2. They asked me to help, as I usually did help the dishwashers at the end of the night for OT. They promised they'd keep me 3 days prep, 2 dish. Come November, I was FT dish. My temp agency didn't get me or send me as a dishwasher. On Jan 21, 2022 they added more floor details including moping the dish room twice daily. Sick and tired, I fucking quit the next day. Managers and chefs didn't have the balls to answer the phone. My temp agency BEGGED me to return or do at least 3 days notice. I naturally told them that place broke contract with me so I broke contract with them.
