I'm working on another fishing-related video where I interview some of my friends from the Pier. . . . in the meantime: Pelicans. Whales are out a few miles but we have baitfish schools the length of Sharp Park Beach. Humpback whales are back in the Bay Area . . . whether permitting, they should be around for another month or so. First minute was from 17 July on the beach; after that on the pier, 18 July 2024 Pardon the misses but my angle of view is TINY. ;) Thanks to Myles H. for sharing the view and some good stories!
Soligor 500mm f8 Mirror lens on RED Komodo

I've had this lens since I was stationed in Germany in the late 80s. I cleaned it up a few weeks back (after the 4x5 video) thinking this day might come. I'm impressed with this lens (long thought to be a POS so buried in an old camera bag for decades). It is an old Canon FL bayonet mount so I have it adapted to the RED with a Fotodiox Pro FL-RF adapter. 67mm front mount so luckily Tilta matte ...

I absolutely love film. Sure, digital is great but something about not knowing what you’ve taken makes you more precise about the shot (and it costs a bit more). it'a variation on the Carolina rig (circle hook, 5' leader between two stoppers so there's movemenet).

@@entername5706 the funny part is that there is usually only one or 2 good spots at piers and the beach bums hog them up so idk what you talking about sharing. Not to mention all the illegal shit like poaching and fishing with more than 2 rods

Love Pacifica pier I remember fishing there starting at the age of 3 my dad's Name is Ray Strom a very well known fisherman back then great video and awesome catch can't get better than that!!! Also subscribed to your page loved the video brought back memories like no other. Fish on 🤟

It's a variation on a Carolina rig with live bait (anchovies or shiners).
