June 2020 treated those who were still onsite to some superb sightings of the local buffalo and elephants herds. It seems the lack of people and quietness around the lodge has enticed them to venture even closer than usual, and more often. From sunrise to sunset we had truly special moments watching the herds move through every corner of the lodge, from Island Lodge Manager Peter Dunning's tent and across the river to the Luxury Tented Suites. They were everywhere!
