2007 Chrysler 300c 5.7 EGR valve replacement (vehicle intermittently stalls when coming to a stop)
If your Chrysler 300c (or any Mopar product for that matter) is stalling when coming to a stop, 99% of the time it is the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve that has failed, which is the case with this 300 we have here. The main function of the EGR valve is to recirculate exhaust Gas back into the intake manifold for emissions purposes. When it fails, it negativity affects the air/fuel ratio and can cause sluggish performance and stalling when coming to a stop.

    You didn’t have to remove the upper control arms to move the steering knuckle out of the way….do you know if you have to move it for the passenger side?

    • @ChillisAutomotive
      @ChillisAutomotive 2 місяці тому

      The process for the passenger side is the same, the only difference is there is a metal heat shield you will have to remove, they are 3 m10 triple squares if I remember correctly. It is kindof a pain to remove but I've found the easiest way to be using a long reach ratchet and a stubby m10 triple square, working from from the engine bay

    I had an interesting problem, the choke butterfly was stuck in an unusual position and would not move. Somehow it went past the closed (choked) position and now was open and would not return being wedged in the space. The butterfly is a thin steel diaphragm that rotates on a plastic shaft that is actuated by the choke rod outside. You can see four (two each side buttons that hold it there. I tugged on it with vice grips and it slid out of the plastic rod, got it BACK into the proper position and pushed it back through. I am going to go ahead and clean the jets.

    • @retrooner5601
      @retrooner5601 4 місяці тому

      It all depends on the liter size of the engine aswell as the environment the truck is used I was just in Las Vegas for 4 years and this temp in the video was my usual idle and running temp moved back to California and the temp stays below half aswell now it’s all environment based 🤙🏽but anything above 2 and a half quarters isn’t usually a good sign for example when running the ac if it spikes to high it’s a possible thermostat water pump or radiator cap problem I have the 2004 colly 3.5 inline 5 things a tank almost 350k miles and still dusts 04-17 silverados most tacomas and a lot more newer vehicles since the truck is well maintained just look it up if you have a issue the trucks so old now everyone has most likely ran into the issue you have and have a fix for it

    The Philip screw on top of the carb should be taken out. There's another jet under the screw that should be cleaned out with some carb cleaner. I believe it the low speed jet.

    I noticed that my Audi b8 axle is also worn and the transmission is slipping. Might the Cv joint axle be the cause of that? Please assist 🙏🏼

    • @ChillisAutomotive
      @ChillisAutomotive 8 місяців тому

      I personally have never heard of a case where the cv axle caused a transmission to slip. However that doesn't mean it's not possible. The most likely reason for a transmission slipping is by low fluid level in the trans, or burned/worn clutch packs.

    • @ChillisAutomotive
      @ChillisAutomotive 10 місяців тому

      @@zachschuler1222 200 nm (147 ft lbs) plus an additional 180 degrees. It's best to torque the bolt with the wheel on the car and sitting on the ground so it won't spin while you torque it. For some reason I didn't show the specs or the process in the video, In the future I will most likely make a revised video doing so the next time I replace one.
