1 Guy + 2 forklifts - Unpacking New Industrial CNC Craftsman 510!
Переглядів 2993 роки тому
The day is here, our new CNC machine just showed up. Didn't have the camera running in time to show us pulling it off the semi but here is some footage of us unpacking and setting it in its new home. Sorry for the messy shop, had to move stuff around to make room for the table.

I would have to disagree with you on this. I think hand crafted wood working is still alive and well. The tools we use in the industry to speed up jobs comes down to efficiency and bottom line. These drawer fronts are for a large project that has 8 of these fronts in 2 different sizes. To do 16 drawer fronts by hand would take too much time to be cost effective for this specific project that has a deadline. I would compare it to doing dovetails. I love to cut them by hand but would not be able to get 16 drawers done along with everything else in the time I have for the project. For this reason, I use a jig to cut them on the router table. I mill my own lumber for some projects. I can go from a log to finished product all inhouse. However, I can’t use my own lumber for every project due to dry time and availability of species. I would also say that when tools like these are used there is no magic button that I can use. I still must program everything in and have the machine set up properly for the specific material. What it does do is allow me to make repeat cuts fast and accurate. I would not worry that machines are making your hand made projects dead. Keep doing what you’re doing and enjoy it.

Do you still have the machine and would you still recommend it?

Hey Keith, sorry for the delay. I do not still have this machine. I think it’s a fine machine for large general purpose projects. Due to the amount of cabinet jobs I get, I needed a ATC to minimize the babysitting of the machine. As an example, a cabinet sheet will require about 4 bit changes. That sheet would take this machine about 40-45 min to complete (this includes the time for me to change out the bit, re-zero Z and load the next GCode for the new bit). My new machine will do this entire sheet in less than 10 min hands off. Hope this helps you.

Hi, I like your video! Thank you for taking the time to show the package. It helps in arranging methods for others, super helpful!! Can you tell me how you like your machine? I have a down payment on the same one. Would you do anything different ? I’m kinda skeptical about Industrial’s tightly controlled media info. Not is much available . I could sure use your feedback. I have seen plenty of filtered testimonials. Looks good but are there drawbacks to the software or otherwise?

So sorry for the late reply on this, been crazy busy with some large projects. I was actually skeptically at first too. I like watch reviews and “how-to’s” before making such a large purchase. I have nothing but great things to say about the machine. It’s built like a tank and everything works well. I had some setup challenges, but even my sales guy got involved and helped me dial the machine in. I also liked that sales didn’t try to over sell me. I always expect issues when working with something like this but fell the value is in how those issues are handled. In this case, I couldn’t be happier. Feel free to reach out with any setup questions, I’d be happy to help out. Also keep an eye out for more content coming soon. Thanks for watching!!
