I think his constant use of the word heavy "rock" whilst always avoiding "metal" explains why Metallica have been using this really hard rock tone on recent efforts. There's a UA-cam channel called State of Mercury and the dude redoes new Metallica songs but with their old school tones. The Justice one fits best. Very metal. I miss that.
