I played for NSU but I also played in high school in New Orleans. I'm sorry, I LOVE my city and state but our high schools do NOT sound as good as NSU. Sorry. However, all of our high schools are NOT "loud and messy" either so be careful with that comment.
This is what happens when you take lemons and make duh BOMB lemonade! lololol. Smallest the Legion's been in a lil minute, but they are as clean and as precise as ever. Sounds amazing. This is a prototype of what you can do with a band this size when you have a top-notch music program.
I like how they try to keep their drumline clean and together (like drum corps) while still jamming. NSU kind of reminds me of what it could be like if one tries to mix HBCU style with a bit of DCI style. It comes out to be GREAT. That's what I enjoy about NSU, VSU, SCSU, ECSU.
I agree that they don't sound as good as they used to, but we cant blame the size, although they were big ass hell. I went to Oscar Smith High in 06 and by the time I graduated in 09 our band was smaller then Booker T's. Sound was still strong. They like Fuck band now. Doesn't help that the music department is usually one of the first to go either. We must need another movie like Drumline.
SSU will Neva be anywhere close to NSU's performing level in any way shape or form..... @Dope you dumb ass fuck, SSU weak ass's can't even make it past the Carolina (NCAT/SCSU)MEAC bands so you damn sho better not bring dat shit to VA!!!

HE360, NSU (MDFS) has been playing this way for years. Most of those other schools (not sure about SCSU) just recently adopted this style of playing.
