Lost in a Japanese-style park with a koi pond | watching Bon dance at a summer festival in Tokyo.
I will take you to a Kaiyu-shikien-style garden, a type of park where you can stroll and enjoy the scenery right in the heart of bustling Tokyo. Otaguro Park, previously owned by the music critic Motoo Otaguro, has been a local park since 1984 and is free to enter. The setting here is very tranquil and picturesque, featuring a koi pond and is an ideal spot for viewing the autumn colors. In contrast to the serene natural ambiance, this video also includes a lively summer festival with a parade of dancers in yukata performing traditional Bon dance.

I first visited Odawara and Hakone (and stayed there) on my first trip to Japan (from Australia) in February 1990, but have not been back there despite visiting Japan a few times since. Except for the castle it has changed since that time 😀Thanks for the memories!
Wow, it's been 25 years already!!! I'm so happy that the video I made has meaning for someone, even if it just reminds them of the feelings and memories they once had with this beautiful place. I also wonder what it looked like 25 years ago. I’ve watched videos from many decades ago and old restored footage of Japan from the past. It’s fascinating. I also visited Sydney, Australia over 10 years ago. I went to a few famous landmarks, but now I only remember the feeling of being alone in a vast, lush green space, feeling the peaceful atmosphere around me and time slowly passing by. It might seem ordinary to you, but in Vietnam, there are almost no spaces or places like that. Everything is busy, fast-paced, and people are always caught up in the rush. The hotel in the video is Hakone Pax Yoshino. I’m not used to the public onsen bath yet, so I didn’t use it, but it looks very nice and has a great view. They also have private onsen baths, and if you have tattoos, you’ll need to book a private room. It also requires advance reservation, so please follow the hotel's instructions and plan ahead to fully enjoy everything. <3
