How did you get your v bands to go on property mine are to tight bolt won't reach
do you not need to drop the subframe a little?
Bro what’s ur ig I got 2008 335xi and I’m not sure abt the parts that I should get.
Hmu on @issaa335
Very well articulated man! You make it look easy
I appreciate that!
terrible video!!! doesnt help AT ALLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m honestly super afraid to do this job you made it look pretty easy I will be trying soon
How did it go? Thinking about doing it
@@louisperez2915 haven’t done it been busy with suspension but still afraid to do the dps lol
Its tedious work for sure but when theres a will theres a way!
just cut the subframe bar an bypass all the bs that bar its just in the way saved me hours
I tried this and my car drives funny now
@@chp9990yeah do not do that
So I finished putting on the DownPipes and I noticed that my steering wheel is loose/crooked… I did an alignment twice and it didn’t fix the loose/crooked steering wheel… I’m not sure if it’s because I didn’t torque the 6 bolts properly… if I’m not mistaken the 6 bolts are torqued at 80ft lbs +90degrees?? I torqued them at 80 without the 90degrees… if this isn’t the issue, what else could it be? Forgot to mention when I’m driving straight and hit a little bump the car steers a tag bit to the left or right and I have to steer it back straight. Like if the wheels turn but the steering wheel stays in place.
Thats a play in the steering column which could be from the steering shaft being knocked loose. I would also check to make sure the tie rods are not bent
Can this be done on an xi without an engine support bar or is that pretty much the only way?
It’s pretty much the only way, you have to drop the subframe a bit or take it all off.
shoot yeah I just got under my car and am seeing that. off to harbour freight for a support bar I go lol
Its possible to do it without the bar, you have to support the oil pan with a floor jack and block of wood but its a bit sketchy, but its doable. Definitely recommend that bar tho
Yo cambie mis escapes por dow pipe y me encendendio la luz chet engine ay algun metodo para poder quitar la luz chet engine😢
Use "O2 Sensor spacer" Or a "Mini-cat" that goes between the converter and your O2 sensor.
I did this job everything is tight under there did it the same way you did. Now I’m hearing clunking Under there when hitting bumps
you sure the downpipes arent touching anything or eachother? clamps are tight? tighten your engine mounts back fully?
@@zainsgarage1226 yes I triple checked, thinking maybe the rack came out of place or something? I only feel it under my feet in the driver seat . Hearing the clunking when parked turning the wheel side to side and feeling it in my feet.
yes make sure the steering rack isnt coming in contact with anything. Also i would check the cv axle to see if theres anything noticeable. Also check the steering column where it connects to the steering rack to make sure it isnt coming lose or off
Did you figure it out maybe it’s the exhaust hanger behind the dps
@@chp9990 it ended up being my front struts front hanging the engine suspension on them. I’ll never do it that way again. Drop the subframe is the easiest way. After months I dropped the subframe multiple times and it’s so simple instead of working your way. Great video but this is the wrong way man
Did you get a check engine light?
yes you will get a check engine light. if you have a tune on the car that should be able to get rid of it
Excellent video bro.
Much appreciated
Hello
Not an easy thing.
Where did you get those tow hook that was attached to the engine support
Bmw dealerships sell them
They are in your trunk it’s in your toolbox to remove your tire
💪🏽💪🏽
Nice!
Hell yea brooo
