I bet you meet less Bellends on the canals and rivers than we do in towns and cities, sadly we have them everywhere, and like you say at least on a boat you can move.

You are certainly not the worst vlogger lol. We find your droll take on narrowboat life very entertaining! Our first boating experience was hire boat holidays on the Shroppie. We had to queue at virtually every lock for aaages and thought that was normal everywhere :)

Having started hire narrowboating in the 70's with 2 mooring pins and a gangplank,I find a lot of channels have resorted to a drama queen approach which has me shouting ................get on with it.!!!

I would say that's a long cutting with a bridge over it at one end. Obviously not tunnelled through rock. Edit: my bad, it's an ex tunnel. I've learnt the history now.

You cannot have a good swear on you tube can you and sometimes forget that. The new victor had come up to see us boater's and I had been having a very painful day with legs and she hello how are you, and I said that I was having a very pi@@ed off day, oh she said will have to bleep that out if we was on you tube, then she said I am the new vicar, sometimes wish the ground would swallow me up. We had to laugh thow, she was ok about it. Thought I would share that with you. Take care X X X

Hello Dan👋 Hello gorgeous Ernie, woof. That was a very enjoyable and informative update. It was certainly a challenge for Dan to navigate all those bends with such a long boat. You wait till you do the Pontcysyllte aqueduct. It's a delight as well as an absolute nightmare for anyone with issues with heights.

Good video, it always amuses me when folk panic mooring at a marina.. true a 70 foot requires that extra special touch, but punting, seen in my latest vlog is always a winner and less of a disturbance to other vessels nearby… sorry to hear you had hassle from another ‘user’ … not worth mentioning.

as a kid I used to holiday with an old school mate and stop by tutenhill lock lichfield on his parents narrow boat, spent a week there opening the lock for boaters to earn a bit of pocket money, fishing off the boat and mucking about on big inner tubes off lorries. fun times.

There’s miserable angry people everywhere these days so why should the Canals and Rivers be any different ?. Unfortunately I think as more and more people move onto the waterways because it’s supposedly cheaper than living in a House and then they find out it’s not as peaceful/tranquil and inexpensive as they thought, it’s going to get worse and worse 🤷‍♂️. People go into the Canals and Narrowboating with a Romantic mindset and they don’t realise how much hard work they are going to have to put in keeping their Boat running and in Good order 🤷‍♂️.

I believe you guys need a CANNON 😂 Repel all boarders!

The vast majority of people encountered along the cut are lovely and always happy to help and add to your day. Sadly, there are a few 'bad apples', as you called them, no matter where you go. We've met our fair share of them too. However, the friendly people far outnumber the miseries :)
