Look up the goals per game Brian Clough scored, it's ridiculous.

I was there on that day as an opposition fan.The Blades fans were absolutely brilliant in their appreciation of Cloughie. When you talk about legends of the game Brian Clough gets a seat at the top table.A truly remarkable man who was much loved by folk in the football world and the world in general.

Legend. They don't make them like Cloughie.anymore. They said he didn't look well - he died 10 years later only 69 yrs old of stomach cancer.

As a Sheffield Utd supporter can I add that Brian Clough was an absolute legend, there will never be anyone like him again. I was there that day, final 10-15 minutes we were 2-0 up and the United fans just started singing for him, "One Brian Clough", "Cloughie for England" etc. When he turned to us and gave us the thumbs up it was magical. He has left a legacy all of his own. RIP Mr Clough.

He did end up looking refreshed and well again not long into his retirement. So it was the correct decision. Interviews through the rest of the 90's he gave good value. Until cancer took him in the mid 00's.

I'm a Man United fan but that same bit brought a tear to my eye. All that woman knows is to be a Nottingham Forest fan and the European Cup double Clough did. He was in charge for 18 years, it's bad he got sacked. I'm sure they would have bounced straight back with him.

The infamous post-Sheringham and pre-Collymore season; we weren't really good enough that season. But Clough was a miracle-worker. - Won us the League - Won us two European Cups - Won us four League Cups - Almost exclusively kept us in the top 10 He was a legend and my one real sadness is that all our managers since Clough have been unfairly compared to him. There will never be 'another' Clough. He was a genius amongst men. People say that to understand Scholes' genius you need to speak to Xavi or Zidane. Well to understand Clough's genius, go and speak to Mourinho or Guardiola. They didn't grow up with English football and even they recognise his absolute genius. Gone but never forgotten. RIP Brian

I met Cloughie when I was a 13yr old lad just before he got the knee injury which ultimately finished his playing days, he was my idol. I was really sad when he got that injury, I was even more sad when he retired from management but I cried the day he passed away. R.I.P. Mr. Clough.

Great footage. I particularly enjoyed the goodbye from Barry Davies, what an absolute gentleman he was. I still miss Cloughie. I've got my own Cloughie story which I'll share here. 1978 and forest were on that 40 game unbeaten run. They came to Newcastle on a Wednesday night and beat us 2-0. The place was absolutely rammed despite a claimed attendance of around 40,000 (I'm sure the directors fiddled the gate figures back then at most clubs.) We were stood in the old Leazes End at Newcastle and they were giving Cloughie a bit of stick, chanting "Brian Clough is a puff" over and over. It was pretty loud, loud enough for Cloughie to pick up on it. I happened to be looking at the dug out when it was at its height. Out came an arm, with the hand making the two fingered sign towards the Leazes. I'll be generous and say was making a "2-0" gesture. Not how we saw it in the Leazes. We thought he was telling us to fuckoff. Up went the chant "Cloughie for England" over and over at deafening volume, with loads of people round the ground joining in. I'll never forget it, nor will I or anyone else ever forget Brian.
