    Wake up attack is probably a bug. The version was relatively early and I dont see much sense in having only some attacks cause wake up damage. It would be one thing if they completely removed it but that doesnt seem to be tha case and also why would they.

    I wonder if paintballs can be used to tag monsters since there can be multiple of the same, and they've said broken parts and damage persist after finishing a quest. so throw it at a monster you wanna remember for when your current hunt is finished?

      @@TheLloydLightning no, flinch free still has use against monsters even in a solo setting, shockproof tho only works against and specifically for other players flinching you, it's literally hard-coded that way and it's super lame

    Something I saw in the demo videos that I did not really like (specifically with the lance, idk about other weapons) is that they seem to have simplified the gameplay. I the upper right corner they had the hints for the moves available, it seems that, after you do your third poke, you can directly press circle to do a counter. If I remember correctly, in World you had to press R2+circle to do the same thing. I might be wrong but if it is the case idk how I feel about it. On one hand I like that is more appealing to casuals but, on the other hand, I feel like they are taking away what little execution was needed to play the Lance (which was not that high to begin with). Another factor is that the "perfect" block the lance seems to have is quite generous on its timing, I would like it to be more precise and more rewarding, rather than lenient and not that exciting to do. Then again, this is still a demo, some mechanics might change on the full release and what I said are nothing more than nitpicks to be honest.

    4:48 with decimals for damage numbers being a thing this isn't true and could be due to rounding

      That might be true but in all those clips, in every monster hunter until now, we never really saw a comparison in damage numbers between with and without decimals. So it might be right that rounding could be the answer, but do you really thing that DB only do 2 damage on a wounded part? I honestly don't think so. And it also wouldn't explain the barrel bombs. So even if that clip might be wrong, my point still stands.

      @@Vycery true 2 damage would very low. It would be weird if they would remove the wake up modifier completely. Maybe it wasn't implemented in the demo for some reason?

    For me, if they are giving out more monster materials from collecting tracks and destroying wounds then I hope they up the amount you need overall when creating weapons and armour pieces.

      The low amount of parts needed is a nice change in theory, but in practice it led to me playing the game less and hunting Monsters maybe twice until endgame

    Surprised to learn that aerial spinning bludgeon does more than brutal big bang. Big Bang Finisher definitely hits harder, but good luck hitting only the last hit of the entire combo on a sleeping target.

      The Big Bang Finisher and the Midair Spinning Bludgeon Final Hit both have the same Motion Values of 100 Raw and 1.00 Element. SO we decided to go for the Spinning Bludgeon because it's easier to hit.

      That's not a Wide Sweep. That is a Reverse Attack which is part of the Dash attack.

    I was disappointed in the lance trailer at first kind of thinking it got shafted yet again, but if I did my math right it actually got the 3rd highest number of new changes shown, after the gunlance at #1, and the hunting horn at #2.

    I think we will have the option to do a back step with a poke. To my eyes, it looks like the hunter does a small backstep with the first poke after the back hop at 1:17. Its a much smaller step than the sidestep pokes though

    whats interesting about the charged counter thrust with 2 hits is that the attack generally comes with innate minds-eye, so will the 2nd hit also have minds eye? One of the main reasons to use the move is to get past tough scales when you want to break Uragaan chin or something, but if the 2nd move does not have minds eye and it forces a bounce state, then its pretty bad.

    I hope they tune it to make it more accessible. Lance as it is has a very high skill requierements to be on top game (Guard, Offensive Guard, Protective Polish/Master Touch, Free Flinch) whereas other BM weapons as SnS, IG or LS require close to no mandatory skills, you could just pick whatever offensive or defensive and have and go nuts. A good Lance gameplay requieres staying close to the monster, defending and dishing damage at all times. It doesn't help that with so many guard choices we have now, we still get so much chip damage. And since we're constantly attacking, sharpness get consumed very fast. These points get aliviated with some skills and health drain from augmentations, but these usually options usually come very late in the campaign (and we still have to make space to Flinch Free in multiplayer). Pausing to sharpen or heal breaks the flow so much for a Lancer because it takes a lot of time to sheathe the weapon. I'd like to see a rework in some Lance attributes: - Max Guard be a 3 point skill. Guard 2 and 4 do nothing, and need a lot of decoration real state for other skills to be as viable as a weapon. And we need as much chip protection as we can get. - Lances to have a longer sharpness value by default. I don't think having sharpness comsumption halved like DB is necessary, but it would help a lot if we have have a more confortable purple & white bar to stop less to sharpen. And Lance is not a very high AFR weapon recently, this change wouldn't make them OP. - Remove flinching altogether for Lance (or all weapons). This mechanic was made to create a sort of etiquette around multiplayer hunts, but let's be honest very few people actually mind about their positioning now, and the game have become so quick and eclectic, it's impossible expecting to not get interrupted by an stray slash from a hunter. And Lance, again, already needs a lot of skills by default. We're the tanks of the team, and still get annoyed the most. Give us super armor!

    Really love what they have shown for Lance and it made me even more excited for Wild And there are some moves they didn’t show but they also didn’t show the full moveset for other weapons. I don’t know how you feel about wide sweep in Rise but personally I hope it doesn’t return.
