I don't know... I never played a fromsoft game before Elden Ring ... I thought I would hate it.. but I love every minute of it... and I'm completely enthralled. It isn't perfect... but it's epic. I'm not any part of the typi9fanbase... I just started playing last week... but I'm having so much fun.. and checking youtube for tips is part of the fun for me.

john and abigail get "special treatment" because they're a family, something that arthur seemingly wanted and could've had but had thrown away. sure, it'd be nice to see john and arthur bonding more but arthur deciding to save john and abigail is less about john and more about family.

Never liked the souls games much but Elden Ring is now one of my top 5. Great game, eff that war-dead catacomb though.

Ive only played as John once. I play as Arthur then quit or start over.

I think it's possible that you might be missing the very long and subtle ways that Rockstar shows them making up. I think you are also not realizing the gravity of John apologizing and Arthur saying he understands. Arthur was in Johns position a long time ago and he didn't want John making the same mistakes. That is a very obvious detail slapping us in the face. The moment Arthur didn't know what to say, it's him being in pain because he was trying so hard to help John and being powerless to do anything in the moment. Especially if John wasn't willing to listen. Arthur was the kind of person to give the gang a hard time to show how much he cares. He's not one for words so he went with light teasing. I don't think John really understood that about him. He could only see the criticism and feel like he was being told he wasn't good enough on all sides. He couldn't see that everyone was trying to help him because he was just so lost. While Arthur gave him a hard time he also was genuinely trying to help him. He was frustrated with him like you would any family member that messed up. Don't undervalue the fact that of the gang Arthur and John are literally brothers. They are around the same age and and grew up together. Themselves, Dutch and Hosea are the really just family. You can see it most when John is confiding into Arthur on that one mission... the one where you are planting tnt bundles on the tracks. At the end you really see just how much Arthur cares for him advocating that at the very least he Abigail and Jack get out alive. He's willing to throw in everything to save them. Seeing his time is up gives himself to make sure John gets away. It may seem small though at the end when John says he and Arthur are brothers. I meant that past blood and any other barrier they are brothers. They live and die by one another and nothing an get between them. I think them making up is very long and subtle. Arthur was frustrated with John because he hadn't quite figured things out yet. Though he loved him as family above all else. Towards the end pay attention to just how much he advocates for him. He was always in his corner and the the thing is that it was just tense in the beginning. Also I think Sadie has the best arch in all the gang bar none. If you really pay attention to her you can see just how much she grows and change. She has the most satisfying story in the entire game in my opinion.

A game made for everyone is a game made for no one... After playing ER & the DLC and then returning to DS3; ER feels like visiting that cheap bar where all the drinks are heavily watered down while DS3 is like drinking gasoline. I much prefer gasoline...

“Show him helping the side characters out” you mean like when we saw him help Abigail, Tilly, Jack, Trelawney, and the whole final mission was about helping John escape. As well as helping Captain Monroe, Beau Gray, and Penelope braithwaite. Arthur literally helped everyone that he could/let him.

Bro with buddy is criticizing similar bosses having similar fights and move sets. Every single game ever does this to some extent from Mario 64 to God of War. That’s a wild hill to die on 😂 they can’t make 1000 encounters all be unique or the game would have come out in 2030 and cost $300.

Arthur is so much more of a complex character than you are giving rockstar. His past, values (most of all being loyalty to the gang which ends up changing to loyalty to what matters). You speak so confidently but almost every argument you made regarding Arthur and other aspects of the story involving Dutch and John have stronger arguments against what you are saying. I can’t even go through all of them lmao

I got a teory about arthur and abigail arthur said "he should of marry abigail but goddamend mary!" So i think maybe Abigail was into arthur at somepoint but sense he was overheel with Mary he ignore abigail and then mary leave arthur ,and wend arthur open his eyes and whant abigail he lost his chance because John came into the picture.

Funny how you mention the re use of bosses but that should be a problem, because how are you expected to fight the misbegotten as a boss when low level and expect him to be a boss while your a semigod that has 3-4 great runes and 12 remembrances lol its expected to fight them as mobs after a while

We know why he doesn't like John it is him leaving the gang but more importantly jack especially because he sees John as lucky for even getting to have his family when Arthur lost his. Also you can find Abigail thanking John in camp after and apologized for not saying it. Also I believe John had a problem with him drowning Bronte instead of just shooting him, though I do kinda agree with your point at the same time.

I would prefer the same game with less enemies overall. Like Kingdom Come: Deliverance. That game did it better. You can play all day long without meeting a single enemy, unless you know where they are or you go searching for them.

Dark souls got me scared of cliffs fast, then elden ring comes out and you can survive falling from like a 3-4 story building. If you dont know if youll die falling: drop a rainbow stone, if it breaks youll die.

i hope fromsoft diversify their games and also try new genras, not just action rpg with cryptic stories

the horse and overblown world kills it for me; it's way too easy to escape everything all the time; i hope for a bigger ds style world with jump button, no horse, no fast travel half the game like ds1; also a new tenchu game or kinda japan sengoku ds with different classes; i enjoy your points of view about open worlds like mgsV and RDR2; also yeah i worry a bit about ffvii remake story... especially now after rebirth ending.

In terms of raw power arthur beats marston by a longshot. Johns just more cunning as he makes use of the things around him, but hes also pretty dumb at times. Then again arthur can be a a lil dumb too.

I have had practically no problem with Elden Ring's performance on PC but you have to understand that those negative reviews are largely from very early patches of the game. People are validated to complain about their experiences with the game when they paid for it even if those aren't problems anymore.

I disagree with the story being basically the same, its lore is MASSIVELY unique and incredibly complex

Playing it for the first time a few years after the hype. It’s not my first fromsoft experience, I’m finding myself very overwhelmed by the immense size of it in a way I never felt w the previous games. I’m constantly discovering new branches while I’m already committed to a certain path, and the primary feeling I get is anxiety that this is another point of interest I’m going to forget to come back to and explore. I guess there are worse problems to have in a game, but I feel like I’m leaving so much behind as I play through it. And I simply don’t have the time and patience now to explore every square inch like I did when I was a teenager with much smaller games. Always afraid I’m missing out.

Mechanically, Arthur is technically a straight upgrade, given that he can swim.

It is by no means a perfect game. Once the Capital/Sewers are done, the game really goes downhill

The point ur making with him being hypocritical while true makes him still one of the doesn’t make him less enjoyable to play in my eyes the imperfections of these characters is what makes them so good. It’s a constant battle as it should be. And Arthur even confesses to marry Beth that he isn’t living up to the ideals.

Yea I never lost my horse I was extremely attached as would Arthur be horses are extremely sacred back in that time period and really to anyone who raises horses I always thought of my horses as partners and a friend

Well with the Arthur stuff he can admit that he has killed a lot of innocent to Mary Beth and that he doesn’t know why and it makes him question a lot of things

Arthurs insults/greet defuse and insult again stuff is more entertaining to me than John's are both fun just Arthur's stuff is funnier lol

I have a couple of gripes with it as well, haven't watched the full vid yet, but what makes it kind of frustrating for me is that it always feels a little like you're just running around looking at stuff after you've explored it all. I see no excitement in going through the dungeons again since they're all the same. This is coming from someone who likes the chalice dungeons in Bloodborne, and that's why I say it feels like you're looking at stuff. In bloodborne, you're given ridiculous speed to match that of the bosses and you're forced to play aggressive most of the time. In Elden Ring the bosses are usually as fast as in Bloodborne, but you can rarely match their speed. So instead of creating a flow to the fight that makes it feel like an elegant dance, you're just waiting for the enemy to finish what they're doing to get a hit in. Late game bosses are especially guilty of this in my eyes.

I've watched over 10 videos and the way you explained it was perfect. Areith knew she had to die and switched the time line. They gave into the fanbase for cloud to save her. Beautifully done

I used summons against Radahn because that fight was designed that way but because I never found the bell on my playthrough I had to solo the bosses. Most of them weren’t too hard but I struggled badly against Margit and very badly struggled against Melania. Her heal and that attack in her second stage just seemed impossible for my build (strength). I eventually defeated her possibly due to lucky rng it was not a fun time. The rest of the bosses were no where near as hard as she was. I never faced a boss in their games that’s that difficult

Give it a few years and you’ll definitely want to play it again. Just leave it enough time to become fresh again
