We are so honored to have been able to work with and help Sam with his preparations this season. What a legend!
Is there any tool who can mesure handle angle and handle In good position
Best to use the angle finding app on your smart phone. The optimal angle when placed on the bottom of the drop is 18 degrees (ergo bar)
Hello ! I have a height of 176/81 cm. My saddle is adjusted correctly in height, but I don't know what the distance should be between the top of the nose saddle and the center of the handlebar? Didn't I understand from the video what the 4 cm on the top tube are? Thanks !
I believe you are referring to the saddle fore/aft position. This is dictated by the length of your upper leg and clear position. Once this is located, then the reach to the handle bar can be found, not before.
@@BalancePointRacing Thanks for the reply ! Yes, it is about saddle fore / aft position. Is there a specific rule / distance between the saddle nose and the center of the handle bar? Thanks!
Do I need to do these exercises before Cycling or after?
These are best done after and on rest days. We have another video highlighting Majo's amazing pre ride performance enhancing exercises.
Excellent. Subbed.
Difficult difficult shhhz right there, brah. But I didn't get into BMX back in the stone age, motocrosss racing into industrial age, and road cycling into the modern age because they were EASY. (God, let me be interested in pool or some game next life... Lol) I'm 3 rides back from big knee injury and "sofaah, so good." That's a BAWstin accent, even though I'm from Noo Yawk. Thx 4 da 411.💪🏻😎💪🏿 On IG as @easywriter882 💝🌿
Thank you for the tips how to be strong, keep up the good work
Thumbs down for sure
Just the thing I needed! These stretches are amazing!!
Okay so Is the sets like repeating the Same Workout? Or Like the kind of set where you do the work out from the very start again?
Yes, do the entire workout from #1 to #9 and then repeat the series. Allow yourself the time to rest between each exercise.
How many rest in between exercises?
as much as you need to ensure your ability to complete each exercise well. Usually 30-60 sec
I had 7 sessions of Radial Shockwave Theraphy to cure an Insertional Calcified Achilles Tendinopathy (basically the part of the tendon that is attached to the heel bone) and no improvement at all, with an X ray of before and after that shows how the calcification is still there, and an MRI showing exactly the same inflamation and issues. I am glad it worked for you, but for me it was a waste of time, unfortunately.
Thanks for that Manuel. Sorry that your experience was not like mine. I'm sure there is limits to the any treatment. Depending on how acute your 'ICAT' is, it might be worth researching treatment options. I think Shockwave is a great place to start with things like ICAT seeing how its noninvasive. Found this article that might have some other options for you. Good luck Sir!! www.podiatrytoday.com/how-conquer-achilles-insertional-calcific-tendinosis
BalancePointRacing oh thanks a lot for the reply and the link! appreciated,:) I will most likely try with Focused Shockwave and see if it works better than Radial. Let’s see, fingers crossed,:)
did you have any success?
Did you fix your issue?
That’s because radial shock waves only heal superficial tissue buddy
Thank you!!!. I needed to do these stretches for not only cycling but for running also. Thanks for showing these stretch routines!
Very good routine for the core.
Wow, these seniors are much healthier than me.
Dang!!! Great, GREAT video!!! good mix of exercises, with lots of variations included for each one! Nicely done!!!
many thanks to show very well
Yes this type of training have helped a lot, when i mtb in this type of terrain. ua-cam.com/video/QCZCoIYNdVo/v-deo.html
my lower back starts pain when i do cycling. will this help me????
Great therapy!! Using the physical therapy to recoup sports related injuries is the very best option. It could stimulate the muscular tissues and also blood flow, reducing the discomfort and totally bring back. I think it can also be an excellent concept to utilize this therapy with shockwave treatment like nydnrehab.com/treatment-methods/shockwave/ to double the recuperation impacts.
For drop take handlebar height from the ground and then saddle height from the ground. Subtract one from the other and there you go drop. It would be nice also to take on acc handlebar reach itself as can be vary from 70mm to 95mm and more.
That measure the centre of saddle is just hilarious. What centre of saddle have with saddle height where you need follow of seat tube centre to get furthest point from PEDAL SPINDLE (as op not taking on account crank length) to TOP of the saddle. Funny, funny. Try to measure reach with Specialized Power saddle compare to Toupe lets say. Its not possible with your method.
Thanks for the comment. It actually is possible. Measuring the length of the saddle to find the center of the top plane on the saddle allows you to find an easily repeatable point to measure from. Your right, that this method does not include the length of the crank. This is because we are looking to use the most repeatable measurement points. This method is designed to be used with your same saddle and crank length. If you change parts (saddle, cranks, pedals, etc), you should consult your bike fitter as your pedaling mechanics will have changed and thus your bike fit will change accordingly.
Dont get me wrong but on the proper bike fit session you will get all measurements with the way how to measure them so don`t follow the point. I think that copying measurements are for the time when you did made some changes in your bike. Otherwise what is it for? Even if you have same saddle and cranks you can still have different seatpost from 0mm to 40mm offset which makes replication impossible sorry.
Agreed!! With major changes in components, you will require a new bike fit. This method of measuring a bikes dimensions is great for cyclists who are packing their bikes for travel or had something shift on them.
Thanks for the short and sweet video
Very good
I was elated to see a senior athlete incorporated in the workout. I'm a 65yr. woman Time Trialist and always looking for information specific to senior training. I'd like to see more inspirational videos regarding training and conditioning for cycling.
Great route...better make sure I have some gas left for that last climb.
I'm a cyclist coming from a strong weight training back ground and would like to say leg raises need no more elevation than 45 degrees because abs have a short range of motion :)
Great advice.
Just checked this out. Looks a lot like my Pilates class moves! I ride about 60 miles a week. I don't have a car. I'm looking for exercises that fill in and balance out the body parts that don't get worked out by bicycle riding.
Hi, amazing workout! Question, should I do stretching after the workout or not?
+TheDroneScene Thanks for the question! Stretching would be a fine idea after this set, especially if you are prone to specific muscular tightness.
thanks for the great vid! super stretches.
Interesting video
for saddle fore-aft position.. is the video shown which measure is about 4 cm. can you explain more detail what is the meaning
Ario Wibowo The saddle fore and aft position measurement is the horizontal distance from the tip of the nose of the saddle to the center of the bottom bracket. This is how far back (or forward) the saddle sits over the the cranks.
BalancePointRacing Still not sure what you are trying to say. So once we measure that 4cm gap, do we move the front of the saddle to be over one of the dots or what?
+Brady Nelson The point of any of the measurements I show you in the video is be able to replicate your cycling position in a consistent way. This video do not cover the moving of any parts, only the measurement of their relative orientation. In the case you cited, the measurement taken is 4cm of horizontal distance from the nose of the saddle to the center of the bottom bracket. You can then use this 4cm distance fore/aft with the saddle height measurement to triangulate the position of the saddle.
thanks a lot
What about at the valve stem. The tire wont seat properly .
Thanks!. Time to learn this since I'm joining a standard distance triathlon this coming October.
Thanks
Is this routine meant to be performed before riding or before core or strength workouts?
Thanks for the question Joshua! This routine was designed to help our athletes perform better at cycling and triathlon events. However, we have been utilizing it prior to training sessions of all kinds and seeing tons of benefits! Happy training!
Nice to see different age groups doing this on the video .
Great Video Luke! Shouldn't get lost know;)
awesome video thanks for the time you took to do this.
Very good informative video, Thanks!
Thanks for the video, just changed my first one! Watched many videos and yours was the most clear, with the camera angle showing step 6 pinches. Very helpful for a newbie, much appreciated!
Should I do these exercises every day or every other day? And before or after a ride? Thanks!
before every ride i would recommend, because it will warm up your muscles and youll feel loose on the bike and feel stronger :] Unless youll be training hard then you want a quick and easy warm up just to warm up your muscles,
You should do this workout as often as everyday if you can recover in time. Typically athletes will do this routine 2-3 times per week, unless we identify a performance limiter due to a weak core, in which case we build them up to 5-6 times per week.
Thanks, this helped a lot, got it on my first try after watching this. Good on u for making it short and to the point!
This is exactly what I like. Straight to the point. ;-) Thanks for the tips bro!
I watch this every time before I train! I love it! THanks!
Nice training exrecises
