A pet’s death can be very devastating I hadn’t even had my cat for that long when she died. She was a stray that had been attacked by dog or some other animal so she had part of her tummy missing. The people that found her took her in so that they could help her get better, they tested for any diseases (which all came back negative) before putting her up for adoption, and since the people who put her up for adoption were my mom’s friends, my mom found out about her and asked me and my siblings if we wanted her. (We said yes obviously, like who wouldn’t want a pet) so we got and took care of her. She was the sweetest little thing and she was very small, she would even sleep with me (sometimes she would fall asleep while biting my fingers and she would sleep with my fingers in her mouth) but later on she started throwing up so I told my mom to take her to the vet but she said that she was probably fine and that she probably just ran or played too early after eating, I ended up agreeing with her and went along doing whatever I doing. Then we went on a trip and before I left she gave me kisses (which she did to no one else, showing that she chose me as her person) I told her bye and kissed her on the top of her head. During our trip I had a nightmare that a small cat that looked like mine had died, I cried during that nightmare because I didn’t want it to happen. When we were coming back from our trip I was still scared for my cat so I wanted to go to my mom’s house before we went to my dad’s so I could check on her. We ended up going to mom’s house to drop something off, but it wasn’t enough time for me to see my cat. I asked my mom if she was okay the day later, because we had to go to bed when we got to my dad’s, and she said she was fine. 3 days later she called and said that she was taking my cat to the vet because she was throwing up and she had looked at my mom almost as if she was asking for help. I was worried and hoped that she was okay, but my mom had taken her to the vet too late because when my mom left, the vet said that she collapsed and that they tried their best to save her but their efforts failed and she ended up passing away. I thought it was a joke when my mom told me, I was smiling saying “ Nice try but I’m not falling for that.” My mom started crying and not long after my sister started crying as well. I looked back and forth at them, my smile slowly fading and tears welling in my eyes, I felt the lump in my throat starting to form I tried telling myself that it was just a joke but I couldn’t help but I felt the tears rolling down my cheeks and realized that it wasn’t a joke. I cried and screamed my heart out yelling that the vet was lying and that they kept her for themselves. I didn’t want to believe it. Both me and my brother had the same reaction to her death, we both cried and banged our fists on things. I was in denial and didn’t want to believe I kept telling myself that they kidnapped her, when my mom went to go get her ashes I was hoping that the vet would confess and give her back but that wasn’t the case. My mom gave me the box with her ashes and I took them to my room and cried while hugging them, apologizing over and over for not being more persistent about taking her to the vet. I felt so guilty, she had to endure all this pain only for us to not do anything until the last second. I became depressed and cried myself to sleep for weeks, I made a small spot on my mattress with my arm where she used to sleep. I would look at that spot and cry even more. Later on my mom suggested that we go adopt another cat, but I told her no because I didn’t want to replace my cat. My mom reassured me that I wouldn’t be replacing her so I reluctantly agreed. I have another cat now and she reminds me of my old cat sometimes. She even wakes me up in the morning I still have my old cat’s collar and favorite toy, along with her ashes and paw prints. I still get mad at my sister when she tries to take it. I t takes a long time to get over a pet’s death but eventually you’ll be able to get over it, no matter how long it takes. I hope your doing better now

My mom neglected everything she owned. When i got a cat in my teens i loved it more than anything, then mom got her hands on it. She found my baby throwing up a string and dragged her around the house by it, trying to yank it out and shut the cat up. My cat died days later. My mom waited until the cat died to put it in my arms and tell me that we can finally go to the vet, just because she didn't actually want to pay for help. Parents can really suck sometimes.

I'm so sorry abt ur cat...you've found a bit of happiness in this with the stray's and the kittens My dad's cat, Nagi, she was diagnosed with Cancer/Asthma sometime in this month 2 years ago, with only 3 months left...she than pasted last Christmas day this is the first time I've dealt with a lost of a loved one and it hurts a ton probably bc I'm 13 too (my birthday was in July) but still hurts...I was so confused, judt at the Christmas tree with my younger brother watching my mom start to cry from something my dad said than told us Nagi passed away between 2am-9am so we spent the next 15-30mins just crying, we still have 3 cats which they becane clingy after Nagi passed

My story is similar,my cat Charlie also died by falling off my apartment and the thing was, I was visiting America at that moment and my father back home didn’t tell me anything and when I found out about my cat Charlie’s death I was broken. Now I have a Cat Nova who was dying and the previous owners dumped him on us but we took him to the vet several times, he was vomitting blood and there was a lot of it in his litter too, now he is all healthy :)

My two younger cats die in 2022 and now another one will be dying and she stil a baby and i don't if she'll be able to make it I'll make a edit if she made it alive ot not..

my dog died about 2 years ago now at the age of 13 years in human years,i still miss him and one of my two cats died this summer so i got a bit depressed,im sure all your cats still love you😢

My parents also leave my cats at an unknown place where I don't know 😢😢
