CM Videos is an educational channel that uses videos to help viewers create effective solutions to their computational modelling challenges. The channel features videos on many materials, computational modelling strategies and tricks and tricks about the use of computational modelling software. Also, lectures on different principles of computational modelling are delivered on the channel to help users understand the principles that drive computational modelling solutions.
The channel has two objectives: (1) to help as many people get into computational modelling irrespective of level of experience and exposure to computational modelling and (2) to offer effective solutions to computational modelling problems. To achieve the first goal, the channel creates contents that are pitched at a level that many users can engage with without assumptions made on level of expertise expected. For the later goal, effective ways of finding solutions are presented for advanced users.

How to get in touch with you sir I have some questions i would like to ask about Abaqus
Hello sir how to get in touch with you basically got some few questions sir thank you
I just resumed for my graduate studies at OSU in the United States. I am having a poster session to discuss my upcoming project and recruit farmers for my field research. This video is a great tool I find handy and very useful at this time. Kudos for the succinate explanation and million thanks Doc.
Fine video, but not to mention the unability to use any undone button or command, right?
This was a very useful video, many thanks for taking time to teach me how to do an academic poster ❤❤
Thank you so much Dr, you explain well.
Thank you sir! I apperciate you for giving us really good education
Thanks for the interesting video! I wish you good health and happiness!!!
My abaqus views are not showing properly. CAn you help me
Sir, thank you very much for the brilliant video. Could you tell me please, where I can get this table with the plastic properties (yeld stress, plastic strain) ? I need this for my titanium implant project.
I want to model tensile test of 3 d printed hybrid composite . It has three matrixes .....Pure nylon , Nylon with chopped fiber and epoxy and two fibers carbon and basalt . Dr okereke .........you want to give any suggestion ???
nice video Prof. Michael
Respected Sir, I have to do a Stent Analysis on the model that I have designed and luckily I came across your tutorial of Stent Analysis but even after following the step by step guide from the video,I am not getting the desired result that is my stent isn't expanding as per desired. Even the balloon isn't inflating. If you can remake another video on the topic or can somehow help us to get the desired result. Thank you for your time.
How you came up with new dimension 13.75?
Hi, doctor. Thanks a lot for your great video. I have one question: I'm modeling a beam element (Wire) with a rectangular cross-section in Abaqus. How can I control the orientation of the rectangular section relative to the beam's axis? For instance, when I wrap this beam around a cylindrical solid to simulate a stiffener, half of the section is inside the cylinder and the other half is outside. I want to ensure that the entire rectangular section is on the outer surface of the cylinder. Any suggestions?
Sir, in a few research papers I've seen that the method for calculating the stress strain from RVE is to take the stress in First phase and then stress in second phase and then average it. This is called Volume Averaging I guess. How is this method different from that which is used in Video. ?
How do i transport deformed model from abaqus after simulation to ansys space claim sir?
Sir, PBC GEN2D can work on how many nodes ?
Unlimited nodes.
Thank You Sir
perfect!
Hello Professor I am completing agree with you and 5th point is a very practical case scenario and I really appreciate if you came up with ansys simulation videos in future for LS-Dyna, Fluent analysis and structural analysis which will be very helpful for us
Thanks for sharing
Dear Sir, can you clarify why you choose a tabular amplitude over ramp in loading step?
Hello Mr. Dr. Okereke.. First of all, thank you for this useful video. I am currently working on a topic and would like to ask you for information about it. I am working on the mechanical behavior of a very curly strand of hair. For this I want to model a helix in Abaqus. But I am having problems building this model. I would be very happy if you could share your experience on this. Or would you like to make a video on this topic? Thank you in advance for your interest and attention.
Thank you for the valuable video! Your work is incredibly helpful, and I truly appreciate it. I just wanted to mention one small detail regarding the density value of steel in the SI(mm) unit system in Abaqus. While you correctly converted the density from kg/m³ to kg/mm³ in this video, Abaqus requires a consistent set of units. When using millimeters (mm) for length, the corresponding units for mass, stress, energy, and density should be tonne, MPa, mJ, and tonne/mm³, respectively. Unfortunately, this is a fixed requirement in Abaqus and cannot be adjusted.
thank you for this invaluable video and for sharing this knowledge . I have a questions. in the triaxiality parameter, if we had not only stress in one direction but in the different directions even shear stresses, how should we calculate the parameter? you mentioned that the parameter is the trace of the stress tensor. but what if we are in a condition that we should take the shear stresses in account? thank you in advance.
非常感谢您的视频;这对我来说非常有帮助。我想知道,您视频中的单位是微米吗?如果是这样,stress 的相应单位是什么?感谢您的回复!
How do we do periodic boundary conditions if there is a non uniform mesh?
hello Dr okereke, thanks for your work, appriciate it, could you do a similar video for a quasi isotropic 0 45 -45 90, CFRP that would be great to see. Thank you
how to model wedge and barrel specimen in Abaqus?
Why didn't you put in plasticity values for SiC?
Thank you professor! Your video helps me a lot! But I got confused about which one determines the fracture strain of the simulation? Is Fracture Strain?Or Displacement at Failure? Thanks a lot!
You are great
This is a very helpful video, thank you! I have a multiple random vibration RMS History values at different nodes in a model. Do you know what python function calls would do this? Or, can you point me to a resource that would help with this? Thank you
Hello Dr. Michael Okereke - CM Videos. I visited your UA-cam Channel. Your content is Excellent. Hi if i simulate a bending of sandwich how can i get stress strain curve in with set i selected step variables
Can you show a simulation of an impact test using a stress strain diagram?
Can i use the property of ductile damage with concrete or it just use with metal materials?
Thanks so much.
No worries! Happy to help out. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you Sir
Most welcome
Why is this guy explaining the ancient geometry of Swiss cheese?
Thank you for your response. I am currently developing a UMAT subroutine to predict the nonlinear behavior of materials. In part of the code, I need to solve a system of linear equations ‘Ax=B’. Initially, I used Fortran libraries such as LAPACK and PARDISO to solve the system. However, these libraries do not provide accurate solutions for the equation’s roots. In contrast, MATLAB computes these roots precisely. To address this, I established a connection between Fortran and MATLAB to calculate the equation’s roots within the Fortran code. Currently, the Fortran code runs without errors in the Visual Studio 2019 environment and produces results consistent with my previous MATLAB implementation. However, when I integrate the Fortran code into the UMAT subroutine, Abaqus cannot access MATLAB libraries during the analysis phase. To resolve this issue, I conducted extensive research and made modifications to the abq2024.bat, win86_64.env, and custom_v6.env files to define the path for MATLAB libraries in Abaqus. The MATLAB libraries required for execution are located in the following path: C:\Program Files\MATLAB\Matlab Version\extern\lib\win64\microsoft. I tried adding this path both through Windows environment variables and by defining it explicitly in the .env files of Abaqus. However, the error persists and is displayed as follows: error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol engopen referenced in function umat.R error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol mxcreatedoublematrix800 referenced in function umat.R error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol mxgetdoubles800 referenced in function umat.R error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol mxcopyreal8toptr800 referenced in function umat.R error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol engputvariable referenced in function umat.R error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol engevalstring referenced in function umat.R error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol enggetvariable referenced in function umat.R error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol mxcopyptrtoreal8800 referenced in function umat.R error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol mxdestroyarray800 referenced in function umat.R

Hello, I think this video can help you: ua-cam.com/video/gCQzzF8Few8/v-deo.htmlsi=KIzys71PZdDqOteg
hello Dr do you have any video explaining the analytical approach of this similar RVE model? want to do a comparision with my simulated results. thank you
Not, really, no video on comparing the analytical approach. This is relatively straightfoward and I did this in this publication of mine: doi.org/10.1016/j.commatsci.2012.12.036 This paper should give you the answer you want.
@ thank you Dr Let me check it out
Hello, Thank you for your helpful videos. How can I link Abaqus to external libraries?
Hello, thanks for the question. By external libraries, I assume you mean for example user-defined material subroutines, python libraries, etc. If that is the case, then this is not straightforward. It cannot be answered easily here. I will suggest you do your own research about this.
