I love the sound of the rich fuel mixture causing the engine to four stroke until the plane gets enough speed to increase the air intake to convert to two stroke. Makes me dizzy watching the pilot spinning. I used to fly combat so we had the luxury of not having to spin around so much. Speed was never my thing maybe because our flying field was grass only. Control line was a time of innocence. When we built our own planes from design to cutting the parts. A sport even a kid with an after school job could afford. In my time RC was for the rich guys only.
My control line exploits as a kid ended after half a lap of my first C/L kit plane. There was this wooden crate on the field that was closer than it looked. It crushed my expectations and ended my dreams, including my dreams of RC. I quit all aeromodelling. Couldn't take it. My parents felt sorry for me and bought me a replacement kit, which I still have, unstarted, up in the attic.
Halman, Eisener and Ken-M were the true modelers period possibly the lemon drop kid ! Eastern European teams were just operator's as the complete FAI modeling was payed by the Russian government ! in the early 80's after about 6 contests in 10 years Russia came from nowhere with rule book correct FAI speed entrants also some exposure of rules ! the norm was highly modified ROSSI engines the Commies completely designed and made there superior engines in house ! the Russian's cleaned up ! this year the team had military escorts ! 2 years later the next world championships the military was gone and every team was getting the Russian's pissed nightly and buying everything they had after the contest ! I personally saw many of these east block exotic engines ! History points out one Carl Dodge kept developing his own bar stock R/R engines and 2 years later he beat the Euro-trash !
Oui en donnant le coup de poignée en piquant brutalement il déclenche la coupure carburant.. car il faut éviter toute surchauffe du moteur surtout a ces régimes environ 35 à 40000 v minute...du grand art
Yes, he did...the handle he's holding is used to control the up and down elevator of the model, one line for up, one for down....after it's timed for 10 laps, a quick application of down elevator triggers a fuel shutoff device inside the model, stopping the motor...in the olden days the pilot would sometimes just fly the whole tank out, but that's really hard to do now the models are flying at 300 kph plus!
Why did the engine sound change suddenly? Did the engine come on the pipe? Or was there a throttle control and he waited a couple of laps until he had it trimmed out ?
I believe that the engine is warmed up in the first few laps, and then the pilot starts to muscle the plane around the circle. This brings it up to full pitch speed by temporarily unloading the prop.
'cuz it's pretty much impossible to track the plane..they used to fly these near my old home in Detroit at a place called Strathmoor Park..it's pretty wild to see in person, looks like a big circular blur surrounding the pilot like a giant, living Hula Hoop..
Ok so, a airplane that's got only half a wing, half a tail, half a prop and homeboy spinning in circles about to have a corinary trying to hold on tight to that little fucker going over 200 mph?!...shit man that's nuts!
@@Toscanto Yeah, obviously - you can see him gliding his control in the fork. But that's not what I meant. I believe the total amount of force on the central pole, with that plane at that speed, must be enormous. You can see it bending in the video.
Do u ever fly with both halves of the plane lik 2 wings and aprop with 2 blades 😮 Great video
Was it the world record for silliest looking middle aged man?
How is this considered fun?
Wow that's fast.

That guy in the middle gets dizzy
Lot sponsoruje widzę
At the end all dizzy...😅
That was wild AF
Bonkers stuff. 👊👏👏👏
I have seen this a few times, but it's just occurred to me, I do not know where this was ?
The amount of ignorance in the comments is amazing.
That's understandable. Many people haven't seen this kind of thing before, so why would they know?
I'm looking at that thing @0:39 and saying, yeah, right, that will run nice and smooth with a one blade prop! Wild!!
📷 man suckkkksss
And dubstep was born
Any idea what RPM the motor was turning? Had to be well north of 30K.
Circa 40,000 rpm apparently.
That motor is NUTS when it gets up on the ports and the pipe.. Outstanding!!

Impressive!
How is that prop balanced?
A mass hidden inside the spinner. Tungsten?
Impresionante!! 307 Km /h
That is gibberish to me... how many MPH?
😳👍🏻
How do they not vomit?
That's not a plane... It has no wings, and only half of a propeller. 😜
And no rudder, and only one third of a tailplane.
His first few laps he looked like Jackie Gleason shuffle😅
1 propeller. How's the counterbalance on the crankshaft?
Probably a weight in the nose cone(spinner) of the prop.
Why don't they just sit on some sort of swivel stool. Eliminate the fancy footwork.
And his head is still spinning inside today in 2022...hehehe
I've had a bumble bee chase my eflite mini helicopter. Betting the bumble bees around there don't even bother.
Rumor has it that on his last training he drilled himself into the tarmac to his hips.
What is this called?
controlline f2a
Bravo les britich. Des grands du F2A
How did he cut the power? It looked like he made some abrupt control input to make the engine quit

@@jasonmagill9137 I don’t know how comfortable I would be putting in down elevator a 300kph. Sounds like a great way to dig a hole! 😜
There are probably 12 modellers in the world who grasp the significance of this. But to them it is awesome.
Its about as significant as racing with your car a quarter of a mile in a straight line.......
Well, I’m one of those 12 ! Ex model shop owner - used to race Class B C/L team race and dabbled at speed.
awsome is right
The cope in the replies to your statement is awesome.
Facial expression is hilarious
It weighs 300 pounds at full speed , he's fighting for his life.

@@geebee3d ah ok that makes sense.
Yes - that's the sound after it comes on the pipe. After it warmed up the pilot whipped it to help get it up to speed.
Wtf
I thought I'd seen it all till I found 3 men doing it round the same pole.. I'm sorry but I was crying for an hour after.
"That" doesn't even look like an airplane... Fast & Furious? Maybe... Beautiful??... Nah!
Why the camera zoom in on the person?

That's the weirdest looking 'airplane' I've ever seen.
You've seen nothing yet mate ;-)
Looks like a ride at the fair
Lol wtf
The real Ken from street fighter
this is so much better when you have sound muted

Yes ken yes you did it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
the force required to hold that plane at 300kmh... 100% crazy
