Pizza Potato Wedges Recipe | Easy Dinner Recipe with Potatoes
This recipe uses two favourite meals that are popular with families and children.
Pizza and potato wedges.
I have put together this cheap family tray bake meal, that can be adapted to add other things into it, just like you would if you wanted different toppings on a pizza.
I am just showing you a basic quick and easy dinner recipe with potatoes, that is really tasty and ideal for a mid-week tea time meal.
This pizza potato wedges recipe can be made in the oven or an airfryer, so is adaptable to how you want to prepare and cook it.
I costed up my ingredients and used a large oven proof dish to get 6 good sized portions out of this potato wedges recipe and it worked out to only 53p per portion, so great value for £3.18 for the whole meal. Give the recipe a try, you won’t be disappointed.

PIZZA POTATO WEDGES RECIPE:
• 4 Large Baking Potatoes
• Spray Oil
• 500g Passata Sauce
• 60g Pepperoni (or 12 large slices)
• 150g Grated Cheddar Cheese
• 1 tsp Mixed Herbs
• 1 Heaped tsp. Tomato Puree
• 1 tsp Garlic Puree (or 1 clove)
• Salt & Pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (gas mark 4, 350°F) if using an oven.
No need to do this if using an air fryer. Set to 180°C if using air fryer.
Clean your jacket potatoes, place on a tray, spray with a little spray oil on both sides.
Prick them with a fork
Bake in the oven for about 1 hour or the air fryer for about 30-40 mins, until they are nearly cooked, not too soft, but soft enough to cut into wedges.
Cut the potatoes into wedges, place back into your dish and season them with salt & pepper.
Put back in oven for another 20 mins or air fryer for 10 mins.
While they are cooking a little bit more, prepare the pizza topping.
Pour the passata sauce into a bowl.
Add in tomato puree, garlic puree, mixed herbs with salt & pepper.
Mix it all together.
Take your potato wedges out and pour the sauce over them covering them.
Sprinkle half of the cheese over the sauce, then put the pepperoni slices on top, then sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.
Bake in the oven for a further 15 mins or in the air fryer for a further 5-6 mins, until the cheese has fully melted and started to bubble.
Serve on its own or it is nice with some salad.
This pizza potato wedges recipe is so versatile, it’s also nice with slices of sausage if you don’t want to use pepperoni, or pieces of chicken with mushrooms or ham.
I have made this recipe for my family and made this for school dinners and it’s always popular.
I hope you enjoy the recipe, let me know in the comments how you get on with it.

Pavlova is not as scary as some might think to make. I made the meringue base using left over egg whites after making some custard, which only needed the egg yolks. I didn’t pipe the meringue, just spooned it straight onto a baking tray, spread it round and baked it on a low heat. It’s that easy! This one is for my tasty raspberry & chocolate pavlova recipe. Definately have a go. I have tried to show in the video how easy they can be to make. My mums family were a family of butchers, so was taught an easy recipe years ago and have used this one since. A little extra tip: If you like branston pickle, pop a teaspoon of it on top of the meat before popping the pastry lid on, so it cooks in the pie! Lovely. if you like a pork pie with pickle! Enjoy!

    I was waiting for this video, so thanks very much for doing it. This was my favourite at school dinners many years ago, and I have to say yours looks even better than I remember it. Definitely going to make this, just need the lard and cornflakes. Is there a specific lard you buy or are they all much of a muchness?

    • @BudgetCookingandBaking
      @BudgetCookingandBaking 22 дні тому

      I just use lard from aldi. Just a quick tip, if you want to make the pastry flakier, use just lard, so you can use double the amount of lard and don't use butter. If you want it more buttery, you can use double butter and you don't need lard. The 50/50 fat mix is just a standard shortcrust pastry mix in the recipe, but either of the other options will produce nice pastry. Hope you enjoy it. I have made tons of this school pudding over the years, done this way with jam and re-baked for a few mins. It never lasts long, always popular. Enjoy!

      Glad your loving the recipes. Sorry to hear the music doesn't suit. We do music rather than me talking for a couple of reasons. I lost part of my hearing a few years ago due to meningitis and have discovered so many things that need doing differently now. It got us thinking about other people who struggle with hearing, so decided to do the subtitles instead, which is also good for anyone who wants to convert it to another language. The music in the background is just so its not quiet 😁

    Canned corn beef , salty as hell , would use minced up corn beef cooked in slow cooker, probably add some peas as 😊

    • @BudgetCookingandBaking
      @BudgetCookingandBaking Місяць тому

      You can get tinned corned beef with reduced salt if needed, but this is a traditional british pie favourite, so is a classic as it is, but if it works for you using minced and in a slow cooker with added peas, then thats all that matters.

    I do not normally watch videos that have no talking, just annoying music. BUT when I saw the things you were cooking I just had to subscribe. Just reminds me of the things we used to eat. Simple good food. One of my favourite school dinners was spam fritters.

    • @BudgetCookingandBaking

      Tried talking videos when I first started, but I tend to go into lots of detail, cause I'm passionate about cooking, so waffled on and videos were too long, so the decision was made by all involved that the videos should be shorter and non speaking just subtitled, but that it would also help hard of hearing people be able to follow the recipes. Glad you subscribed though, as will be doing some other vidoes in time with me on them talking :)

      @@BudgetCookingandBaking I would be interested to know how you have got on with baking in the air fryer. I am thinking of getting one. Would you recommend the one you have? Like the idea of the large basket as well as the smaller ones.

    • @BudgetCookingandBaking
      @BudgetCookingandBaking Місяць тому

      @@dorothyhopkins5460 Hi Dorothy, Its great. I did a lot of research before buying one and didn't want to buy a ninja as expensive, but wanted to be able to bake in it so needed the large drawer aswell as the duel ones. To be honest, i use the large draw more, as do a lot of meals and baking in it now. I've done cheese scones in it, they were lovely. Tried a toad in the hole last weekend to see how it would turn out, but yorkshire pud batter didn't rise very well, so will try it again. Pastry bases don't seem to cook as well as in the oven, but all my sponge based things have worked fine. Chicken and sausage cook really well and fast. Still trying lots of other stuff out, as going to start doing some meals in them once had a bit more testing, but mainly positive upto now and for the price, I managed to get it on offer so got 20% off in jan sales. I can't say how it would work for anyone else, as suppose its what you want to use it for, but for me, I'm glad i got the duel and the large drawer one. Kay
