This game still get any support or is it done?
It doesn’t look like they’re still hitting a monthly release schedule, but there were new boxes released last year and this year, and they had League play and a $5k tournament at GenCon this year. Check out the Facebook group (make sure to join the 2PCG version) and the Discord (Vs. System Illuminati) for more accurate information.
Quick Question: Equipment can be attacked? For example the infinity gems
@@juancarlosmejia215 Only equipment of the “Machine” type can be attacked. Equipment that’s equipped to a character is KO’d when the character it is attached to is stunned. Infinity Stones that are face-up in the resource row cannot be attacked.

@@juancarlosmejia215 Earth (Humanity) and Space (Alien) can be found in The Alien Battles, The Predator Battles, Monsters Unleashed, and in the newer Fantastic Four arc Cosmic Power.

Yes you can! No “summoning sickness” here.
No Team affiliations? No DC? Man I miss playing Gotham Knights. The old game had so many archtypes. Arkham Inmates, Teen Titans, Team Superman, Green Lantern Corps, X-Men, Avengers, and Justice League.
There are team affiliations, including X-Men and Avengers, but unfortunately no DC. And they’ve added teams for Mortal Kombat, The Boys, and AEW-All Elite Wrestling to the roster since I published this video!
They have team affiliations they also have a hero and villain archetype for most decks

another quick question, i had been lucky enough to get the Defenders & A-Force box sets & i notice that on the back of the box it's mentioned that the core set is required, my question is does it really require to play with the decks that come out of the boxes?
You can play with just the cards that come from those boxes (though the decks they suggest are not particularly good, heh). The reason they "require" the base set is that those boxes don't have full rulebooks or counter tokens in them. Newer 200-card boxes do, though!
can the old cards be played with the new cards? i have a few old cards
No, unfortunately they are two separate games with the same name. The new version has “2PCG” in the name, for 2-Player Card Game.

Im confused...can you play all these different brands(marvel, alien, x files, etc.) Together in one game?
The short answer is yes, but there is kind of a weird restriction that photographic cards can't be mixed with illustrated cards in the SAME deck. However, photographic decks can be played AGAINST illustrated decks without restriction. The Illustrated universe includes Marvel comics, Alien, and Predator. The Photographic universe includes Marvel movies and TV shows, Buffy, X-Files, The Boys, Mortal Kombat, and the soon-to-be released All-Elite Wrestling.
They shouldn't have printed jessica jones with that wording on psyonic protection. Instead of shutting intellect/yellow off, she should simply be immune to and untargetable by those effects.
How do damage and wounds work if your main character would attack into your opponent's main character, both with stats that would result in defeating each other, and both with just 1 wound remaining? Seems like it would be very easy for games to result in a tie
There are no ties in VS. In this scenario, the active player would win the game, so if it is currently your turn, you will have the advantage!

I have a question about main characters and when the level up. Do they keep all counters on them when the level up? Referring to Carnage and all the +1/+1 counters he accumulates when hes level 1.
Yes, characters retain all counters and equipment from their previous level.

3:38 you cannot discard locations, only plot twists. And plot twists are only played from hand. You are 100% right in how good this game has gotten. Best competitive LCG. Best Thematic Marvel Game. I only collect Marvel Comic stuff only. Everything else thus far, especially the photo stills in MCU are a pass for aesthetic and thematic purposes. I would, however be totally excited to see DC and Hellboy back. Millarverse or image universe-ie, Spawn!
You can discard locations from hand to pay for super powers. Amplify effects even require you to do that. I feel you on the Marvel angle. That's definitely why I got into the game; the illustrated stuff is too fun. But the other branded sets have some pretty powerful effects that I can’t ignore!
they need a standard or expanded format like magic that way things will rotate and maybe hero or villian booster packs so some old things could get support too.
Seeing this cards all beat up hurts my soul. Cover those things bro, even if it's the cheap sleeves.
I sleeve everything I play with, but they create too much glare when filming.

O miss dc cards
I’m confused on stunned cards. There are cards/powers that allow you to stun enemy cards, without combat. But if they just recover on your opponents next turn, what is the advantage?
If a character is stunned, they take a wound. That character can recover if they have more than one health, but once their wounds equal their total health, the character gets KO’d. Stunning also knocks off counters and equipment, which can be useful.
@@revoltpuppy Thanks. I think I understand. Just want to confirm. If my power or plot twist stuns them, they lose 1 life even though combat didn’t occur?
@@vincefarina8381 Correct. Every stun gives one wound, unless it’s a daze, which is a stun without wounding.
Interested in playing this game for years. I remember being fascinated during it's first iteration but never really got into it. One question I always had: Can you mix and match IPs? Like could I play Marvel cards and mix in XFiles? Obviously I'm assuming there's natural and better synergies playing them in their respective decks but is that a thing?
You can absolutely mix IPs, with the main exception being that you can't mix photographic cards with illustrated cards in the same deck (but you can play them against each other in different decks). Right now, illustrated has Marvel (comics), Alien, and Predator. Photographic has MCU, Buffy, and X-Files, along with The Boys and Mortal Kombat coming soon.
Just have upper deck release some of these in FA or foil as promos in op kits
That would help somewhat, but there are still issues with expired IP rights, namely for non-Marvel cards.
@Justin McDowell yeah that's right or if they do that they can change the art to a IP they already have might not make sense but could work

Boy oh boy this looks so fun! I wish there were more adults playing this game! Get some celebrities involved put up a couple million dollars and get more folks in the battle
I don't think any player today would object to a multi-million dollar tourney! But there are advantages to the slow and steady growth we're seeing in the game.

@@revoltpuppyLook I'm saying get some top celebs involved that are serious trading card game players and I'm telling you overnight pretty much the vs system would sky rocket In popularity. If there are secret celebs that come outta the woodwork as a secret boss or champion in Vs System trading card game like Beyonce or Floyd Mayweather Jr. The world would be shocked and I guarantee more and more people would take up vs system TCG. It Would be more than just a hobby it would be a hot new table top sport like chess or checkers. The celebs can blow it up. Put some of the best TCG players up against some of them celebs, there is also the fight purse. I can't wait until some of the celebs jump in. Millions of dollars a chance for a table top Athelete to build some generational wealth and go pro. I saw a poker tournament with Jennifer Tilly. She was competing too. So I Kno it's do-able. If they do an international Vs System Tournament with both millions of dollars and a chance to get a pro-card people will be making lines out the door I think to get them Vs System trading cards to sharpen there skills to train and go for pro
I envision a couple of ways they might approach reprints, if they were inclined to do so: 1. Crossover - instead of putting more 'terrains/domains' in these products, reserve like 16-20 spots for reprints, giving us like 4-5 playsets of historically staples. It could even revolve around a theme targeting specific old sets. For example, this year's crossover could target staples from the OG box, for example: -4x Mantis -4x Iceman -4x Think Again -4x Iron Man *Alternatively, crossover could become a 100 card yearly event, focusing half on reprints on half on typical crossover stuff. 2. "Masters sets" - in the spirit of MTG masters, just release a 200 card set that targets important reprints that are hard to find, but do it in an LCG style obviously. I would recommend targeting reprints from the Marvel Base set through Shield VS Hydra and give us the following: -team locations -2 main characters from each set, preferably ones that have seen competetive play or are fan favorites -staple supporting characters -staple generic plot twists/equipment. *I would avoid team plot twists/equipment because without access to the full team they would be hard to run successfully in a deck **If there's a licensing problem with Fox, I would make a "Fox Masters" set that only includes key Alien/Predator/X-files/Buffy reprints Just a couple ideas, of course they be flawed ideas, but just thought I'd contribute and keep the discussion going.
These are good ideas, especially Crossover boxes. I still think Fox props and Photographic cards are a legal sticking point. Disney may own Alien and Predator, but they still won’t let Upper Deck put them both in the same box.
Great video! I like how you present a lot of ideas and you're not dogmatic about which path the company should take, cuz ultimately they will decide what works best for them logistically and financially. Very insightful ideas!
Regarding the spider set going out of print, i don't know why they'd lie about it; likely they did go out of print but are not high in demand sets and so there may still be lots of supply. Whereaa the power level of certain cards in sets like legacy and predators is much higher and therefore makes it much more likely for dedicated players to buy multiple copies. On the other hand, I don't think most of us so we needed to have a bunch of copies of spider friends lying around.
I went back and checked recently, and Spider-Friends is actually no longer in their web shop (the other two in the arc still are) for whatever that’s worth. I don’t think Upper Deck lied, but maybe they were mistaken or over-eager, or maybe they just follow a company-side metric that means little to the real-world availability of actual consumers.
I have a wrench I have to throw into your re-printing suggestions. I think you'd be surprised how quickly Upper Deck loses the right to characters, which means they likely can't even re-print characters that were previously designed and approved without having to pay for the license again.

I love what you have done here, it's awesome. I haven't gotten to see peaky blinders and your set here makes me want to watch it. I actualy really dislike the photographic sets, the pic's are usually just bad, and I really hate the logo's from the marvel movies on each card. The Buffy and X-Files sets don't do the logo's so they're not as bad to me. I don't know if you played original VS System, but in original vs all plot twists and locations could be played face down in the resource row and then turned face up. In an interview one of the designers said they didn't like how that looked aesthetically and in both the WoW tcg, and here in Vs System 2pcg they reversed it so that turned face down so the resource row would look cleaner as the game progressed. Anyway that's probably why the one plot twist in the predator set also replaces itself. You might want to add that to your underground twists. Theoretically it could potentially make them stronger because you "could" replace into another underground twist. Lastly, I'm curious how you got the templates and fonts so perfect. The cards look really great! Hope you are still playing and having tons of fun with both your set, and the regular sets.
Wow! Thank you so much! Lots of good ideas here. I agree, a lot of the photo stills they're required to use are not great. The benefit of doing fantasy cards is I can choose exactly the moment that I want. As for the templates, there's a Facebook group called Vs. System Custom Cards. I grabbed them from there. You can use Magic Set Editor to whip them out, but I do it manually using Photoshop. Both have their merits and flaws. Hit me up in the VS Discord or on Facebook if you want to know more!
Where is a good place to get cards to get started? I really wanna give this game a try with my kids
If you're a Marvel fan, I would definitely skip the base set at this point and start with The Civil War Battles. MCU? Go for The MCU Battles. If you like another property (Alien, Predator, Buffy, or X-Files) they only have one box each, so that simplifies that.
New to this CG and you did an EXCELLENT breakdown and now I'm interested in getting into the game!
Pick up The Civil War Battles; it's new and strong and has a lot of fan favorite characters in it. But if something else draws your attention (Predator, Buffy, other Marvel teams, etc.) any 200- or 400-card box with “Battles” in its name will have everything you need to get started.

This is a great tutorial! Just wondering if i play it right - can a non flight character in the front row melee attack an unprotected character in the back row? - can an unprotected non range character in the backrow melee attack a character in the front row? - can an unprotected non range character in the backrow attack an umprotected character in the back row? - can an range character in the backrow range attack an umprotected character in the back row?
Two things to keep in mind: Flight and Range are for determining attack legality, and you always have three rows, even if one of them is empty. -A character in the front row can melee attack any unprotected character. -The back row is only for range attacks. -A character without range can’t make melee attacks from the back row. -A character with range can range attack any unprotected character from the back row.

If captain America has his shield, then why doesn't he have range?
I have seen this combo used by prowler that copy maximus. There were also other characters in the deck like kane. In this one, what are you supposed to do if you don't have all that locations from the beginning? How do you keep the game?
This deck chose Kitty Pride Star-Lord so that you could use her power Searching for Something to mill for the cards you need. It also had Global Information Network and other mill and search cards in it for this purpose. But that’s beyond the scope of this video. And yes, the combo is do-or-die. Not for the faint of heart!

Do you mean Global Information Network? I thought about that, but I ran the calculations, and I ought to have everything I need to get at least one equipment by turn 4 almost every time. I’m curious what you do to protect Nebula once she’s equipped, too.
@@revoltpuppy No Global, although it is an option. Mines runs just 4 Wakanda, Agents (1-4 Drops), and Strategic Homeland Intervention, among other defensive plot twists. Ideal is to try to mulligan and get an equip first 2 turns, then turn 3 FitzSimmons + Darkhold. You'll be able to play SHI or another defensive plot at least twice to protect Nebula. The other option is turn 2 FitzSimmons, pay to equip Nullifier for free and hope to hold out with any plot twits you may have
