do you know how to take the plastic pieces off the fenders?

Kudos to you for starting this project and video series. You're absolutely right in saying there's virtually no information out there on these. I've got a 1990 Terc of my own, 4 door hatchback, same engine, same carburetor. Online info is sparse, but the Haynes manual at least helps a bit). I've been working on it for the past half a year and am planning on turning it into a summer econo-commuter. Done a lot to it over the past little while - Front CV Axles, Timing Belt/Component Set, Oil Pump/Pan Reseal, Water Pump w/ Coolant flush, Valve Cover Reseal, Valve Stem Seals (You probably know they're notoriously horrible), among a multitude of other things. Replaced the windshield, and I've repainted the entire vehicle with bedliner as well, and restored the bodywork (She had a fair bit of rust). Would be really cool to keep up with you on your own project and see where we can get! Let me know if you'd be interested in keeping in touch or something.

I just bumped into your Tercel channel, and I am so glad someone is doing videos on them. This model is by far my favorite, and the car just looks right in all the right places. Of course, the engine doesn't produce gobs of power, but with a simple rebuild, a nice paint job, and a set of wheels, this EL31 Tercel will turn heads in no time. I am definitely a fan of your channel. Keep them videos rollin', my brotha.

Great video! Quick question, I'm starting to do this swap on my car and I was wondering if there are any vacuum/ hoses should worry about. I saw in the video that I need to hook up the vacuum advance, but I wasn't sure what you ended up doing with the PCV and the other port that is open on the valve cover. I'm new to working on cars so this is the first time I'm hearing about a lot of these parts. Thanks!

I did the weber swap on my original engine too, sometimes you have to tune them so the engine doesn't stall going around a corner. I have since replaced with fuel injection.

I have an 87 Tercel EZ I am building up too. I know a little bit about the cars, the history, and the parts they share with cars from other markets. I could maybe answer some questions.

I have the same car. They get no love...I tried giving mine away many times, no takers even free. btw, they have fuel injection, at least here in california, it was one of the early very simple efi setups. Mine has no engine or transnow, I bought it for $60 with a blown headgasket, tried to fix it twice and it didn't work, then cylinders rusted, so motor toast. I used the transmission in a big cement mixer I made (but it broke, I replaced it with another toyota transaxle). It was going to be my $500 racecar with a subaru eg33 h6 swap in back, but I found a mx3 w/2.5 already to race. Then it was going to be an EV racecar. They are very light and the back opening is perfect to do battery swaps. Not sure what to do now with it, probably send it to the crusher, but I really like the idea of having such an unusual and cool small car since I've always been into station wagons. I got a 74 Volvo 1800 ES that is another rare wagon (the last 1800 volvo), it is getting the drivetrain from 98 V90 (the last rwd volvo). Would like to see what you do with it. Here in california, we have very strict rules on motor swaps, or I'd put in a 1.5l from a toyota echo that I bought for $300 was slightly smashed and I stripped down to no body 3 wheeler just to make sure it all ran and worked with the stripped down wiring before I put that motor into a 63 mg midget mid-engine. I sold the mg before I could do the swap.

Thank you for making these videos for the Toyota EZ. There is very little information about that great car. I bought one and I want to repair it so that it can be the one that steals glances in the streets.

15-20psi isn't too extreme, but I would probably replace the zip ties with wire or a small metal spring clamp just for reliability.

That's the exact same Weber Carb I put on my first Subaur! Weber 32/36 DGEV. Good little carb. Really woke up the EA82 in my old Subaru.

We own a 89 EZ hatchback. We are putting in a 4A efi motor Look into the Corolla's 2 They are basically the twin to the Tercell. I'm gonna definitely keep an eye on your page. See what you find out for struts Just finding parts for this car. Is a bear cat. And they are fun to drive.
