So lange habe ich in Deutschland gelebt und nicht gewusst, dass es sowas in gibt. Ich wünsche euch als Oberammergauer Gottes Segen für diese Tradition. Haltet die Liebe Gottes zu den Menschen immer wieder neu lebendig. Ich lebe jetzt in der Ukraine. Da mein Mann ein Ukrainer ist, fahren wir nicht aus dem Land raus, weil er nicht raus darf. Ich hoffe und bete, dass bis zum nächsten Mal der Krieg zu Ende ist und wir dieses Passionsspiel miterleben können.

I wish this was more frequent. Like maybe 5 years. I heard of this back in the ‘70’s when we were stationed in Stuttgart but as happens frequently, life sort of got in the way and I forgot about it.

amazing exposure to this piece of German history and Culture that has been followed over 350 years and frames current behaviours and beliefs ..a n incredible insight on the way pain and fear with sufferring leads to beliefs and cultural mass action ...like this play

I have seen the Passion Play in Oberammergau, such a beautiful area to visit.

Schade dass es leider keine BluRay Fassung gibt. (Und leider auch total unverständlich weil damit die Leistung nicht vollumfänglich dokumentiert wird))

We flew from Phoenix Arizona to Munich and then traveled by car to Oberammergau for the play. We had tickets for 2020 and waited for the reschedule in 2022. It far exceeded any expectations we had. It is such a beautiful area and the play was so well-done, the cast, writing, direction, musicians, vocalists, sets, costumes and the organization was all amazingly executed. It was outstanding and something that we will remember always. Thank you and blessings to all.

wir waren am 10.09. dabei und es war überwältigend und ein beeindruckendes Erlebnis! Ich bin froh, dass ich Karten für die Passionsspiele gebucht habe. Ich werde ein weiteres Mal sicher wieder nach Oberammergau und zu den Spielen wieder kommen - ich weiß nur noch nicht ob 2030 oder 2040.

Es geht einem jedesmal wieder das Herz auf, wenn man die Bilder sieht! Wladimir Kaminer sagte in seiner Doku zu Frederik, die Passionsspiele seien das Schönste, was es in Deutschland gibt. Wie recht er doch hat!!! 👏👏👏❤️

Just curious, what she is considered a child? Up to age 17? Do of you at ,17 and under they can be in the play?

Ich bin so froh, dass es endlich vorbei ist... 5 Monate lang jeden Tag auf die Bühne, jedesmal absoluter Stress, jedesmal ein Wattestäbchen in die Nase, auch wenn es schon traurig macht, tut es gut, keinen Stress mehr zu haben. Auf ein neues in 2030!🙋🏻‍♂ Vergesst es, ich will Passion zurück😂😂😂

An experience like one you have never experienced before. It is unbelievable that you can sit thru a play by amateurs (hard to believe) that holds your attention like none other. This is definitely divinely delivered and holds your attention throughout the entire performance! It will go with you forever! Even though the language is German, I as a person from the USA understood all of the emotion and the communication perfectly. Thank you! ❤

A wondrous experience! An additional joy is to recognize the participants of the play on the streets of the town. The contralto soloist of the play (with an angelic voice!) turned out to be the young woman who served our dinner. Her family owns the guesthouse where we stayed, and the whole family were on stage.

I taught at the NATO school in Oberammergau for two years (97-99), but missed seeing the actual Play. I witnessed the devotion and determination of the residents of Oberammergau in the years leading up to Play, and it was impressive. I was very disappointed to have missed such a rare opportunity.

Thank you to the people of Oberammergau. Since I've been a child and learning about the Passionplay I wanted to go and see it. As a young girl I travelled to the town twice from South Africa. Only this year could I go to the Play thanks to the generosity of an old family friend. I am now 72. Many years waiting and this year I experienced one of the most profound moments in my life on the 7th August in Oberammergau. I know that keeping the Vow will be done forever. Thank you to all and Praise to our Lord.

Ich hatte die Freude, die Aufführung am Donnerstag, den 22.September zu erleben: Großartig ! Einmalig ! Bewegend ! Unvergesslich ! Ein herzliches Dankeschön und Vergelt's Gott an alle Akteure ! Wenn ich Glück habe, komme ich am 2.10.2022 noch einmal vorbei ! Ungeachtet dessen, hoffe ich, daß ich in jedem Fall 2030 wieder dabei sein kann ! Und herzlichen Glückwunsch an Markus Zwink zur Ehrenbürgerschaft!
