    Why use the 60drip set? Much easier to control drip rate with the 10 or 20. Seems hard to control 4dps vs 5dps. With a 10set 5mcg/min would be 50dpm and 4 would be 40dpm. Am I missing something?

      This is the 3M 6200 respirator. I wear a size medium, which seems to fit a majority of people. I would recommend at least a P95 or P100 filter. 3M has multiple different types of filters that meet P95 or P100 filtration - whichever you are able to get your hands on would be good.

    excellent video. only thing I would add is to wear a simple mask on top of the exhaust valve..you cannot assume you are not infected and go about breathing on others..not fair ! Also is only wiping enough or as the 3M site says, does one have to wash it ..and wiping is only an interim measure?

    • @116education4
      @116education4 4 роки тому

      You are correct - if there is concern the wearer has infection, this is does not protect others. There should be a provider screening in place to prevent this. Soaking/washing with soap and water cleans dust/dirt/residue, but disinfection with a disinfectant product is still recommended.

  • @forumforindianneurologyedu4759

    5:30 Though it is certainly a best practice, respirator wearers don't really need to be completely clean shaven. Example 1: Hitler's mustache looked so stupid so he could wear a gas mask. But it would be *quite the fashion faux pas* today; not recommended. Example 2: One might also wear a small "soul patch," though in my estimation, no one should under any circumstances anyway. (I wear a 6001 with additional HEPA filters before the main cartridge stage, but after the dust filters; they snap under the plastic retainers with the dust filters. That layer alone is as effective as an N95, and lasts longer because you're not exhaling through it.)

    Hello, 3M recommends cleaning warm water not exceeding 49° Celcius and optionally with detergent containing no lanolin, solvents or oils, as not to damage the thermoplastic layers, but i do not know if they mean certain oils or all oils and have no detergent as example to base my choices from? Many "Pure" dish washing soap without parfum, coloring and other ingredients (including glycerin...), do list anionic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants on their ingredient's, but often do not specifically list what chemicals or oils the surfactants are, would it be a bad idea to clean 3M's 6500 and 7500 series with such? Oh, about the wipe, if it contains alcohol (eg, 70% isopropyl), know that you will damage the mask over time, quite a bit more quickly then using water and diluted sodium hypoclorite (3M does not warn enough, but watch out Very Very much for the Chlorine vapor when using that stuff), according to 3M, those wipes do work though if you really really need them, but make sure the surface is already clean or else the alcohol will not be to do its work effectively (also make sure to leave the alcohol for at least a minute). If you are using 3M 504 wipes, these are not meant for disinfecting your mask, but for cleaning, to remove perspiration and dirt, so it stays nice. The 3M 105 is for disinfecting, 3M says it should not damage the masks, but their product page does not specify What is in the wipes, like you are using some unknown chemical (that you might be allergic to or not be effective at all against covid-19?) that some guys with nice eyes tell you works... I found this PDF though: cdn-s1.lyreco.com/staticswebshop/sds/ENDA/SDS_ENSC_8109349_2014-09-30.pdf It lists the ingredients should be 85-95% water and 15-5% isopropyl, which obviously is enough not to damage the masks, but too little to do anything to SARS-CoV-2. A spray bottle of 70% isopropyl and a few paper towels looks more effective and cost effective to me than those expensive wipes from 3M, but again, compared to the recommended cleanup with diluted sodium hypochlorite, you will damage your mask faster, though when desinfecting using diluted sodium hypoclorite, you do want to very much watch out for the chlorine vapor. In case it might be useful, here is a actively updated PDF from 3M with instructions for cleanup for use against SARS-CoV-2: multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/1793959O/cleaning-and-disinfecting-3m-reusable-respirators-following-potential-exposure-to-coronaviruses.pdf

    Can I disinfect by keeping it in UV cabinet. Your comment on that

    • @funnyarc
      @funnyarc 4 роки тому

      If your mask uses polypropylene and your UV bulbs generates ozone, you can damage the thermoplastic, as ozone degrades polypropylene, it might also damage the filter of a paper mask, including the rubber that holds it on your face.

    • @funnyarc
      @funnyarc 4 роки тому

      If you are using the paper ones (n95,n100,p100, etc), these are meant for 1 time use and disposing after use. Cleaning these with water, alcohol, etc will damage the filter capability of these masks, as the entire mask is basically a filter. Reusing these paper masks is akin to reusing a filter, which means over time the filter effectiveness will lower, making it a risk. If you want to reuse these, putting it in a oven at 70°C for 30 Minutes is safer and easier than your UV solution: www.reddit.com/r/COVID19/comments/fo0rpe/stanford_researchers_confirm_n95_masks_can_be/ Otherwise, another way would be to keep the mask in a dry clean place for at least 10 days, then rotate masks. www.journalofhospitalinfection.com/article/S0195-6701(20)30046-3/fulltext If you want to reuse masks, just get a mask like the 3M 6000 series the guy in the video uses, or better yet, the 3M 6500 series or 7500 series (best), these are more comfortable as they use silicone and thermoplastic, make make sure to choose the exact right size for your face though, or else you will not get a proper seal. Combine with P3 (Europe) or P100 (America) filters (like the cardridges), you will have a much better time and the mask is more comfy too.
