36:45 my dad was #10 of the Rolling Devils. Thank you for interviewing David Davis
Thank you for the presentation, and thank you for streaming this! We found it fascinating and are happy to see more research and literature about women Lighthouse Keepers. Looking forward to reading your books.
8:41 - I'm pretty sure that's actor Brian Donleavy on the left side here.
I helped restore parts, and painted the Sub back in July 2002. And If you know Jerry, jerry was awsome.
Thank you. I just finished a tour on the USS Cod. It doesn't have easy access like your boat. My inlaws are 90 and I don't think they can board the Cod. Next time they are with us for a few weeks, well plan a trip and come see your museum boat.
A great video and hope you are successful in getting COBIA drydocked and maintained.
Very good. Great tour and history. I don't like the captions. It's the same language as the narration is totally unnecessary. It is, also, annoying. I have both volumes of "Silent Victory." I also have "I-Boat Captain." I would be willing to donate these if they are desired. That will have to wait awhile as I want to read them again before donating them.
Not from USS COBIA, but USS Baya SS-316, Captain Arnold ‘Ike’ Holtz was a neighbor at Dockside Condos, Charleston, SC, while I was there, and my soon to be neighbors Joan and Clay Blair came to interview Ike. We lived on Washington Island, Wisconsin, I do still.
Love. This my uncle used to live down the. Road from the museum and cobia

So enjoyed Geo's exciting and exhilarating program! Her knowledge and enthusiasm kept us completely engaged, and many quirky discoveries were made. Thank You Geo and WI Maritime Museum for this community gift of art and exploration. Bonnita Budysz & Robert Theaker
Wisconsin Maritime Museum I am your biggest fan
4 heads is 2-3 more than the Germans
I got to tour this sub. It was so cramped. It amazes me how those guys did it…I wouldn’t have been able to.
Its been many years since I was aboard her. She's still looking great 👍 👌
All of the lives gone in wars to have America become the 3rd world country of the illegal freeloaders... We should of let the Japs win.
Solid presentation. Thank you.
I guess Germans dis not have showers.
I've visited twice and it's awesome. I wish I could tour the conning tower/sail
Glad to see they have a plan for regular drydocking. My father was the Active Duty Officer in Charge of the Cobia when she was brought to Milwaukee as a Naval Reserve training boat in 1958. We were there until 1960.
Respect
Great talk!
Pretty Good News! Most welcome these days. Today's joke: Someone stole my anti-depression medication. I hope he's happy.
Thank you for this information. I will be sharing with my brother-in-law and siblings they are great great grandchildren of the Captain and have family stories. Through Mary Blaney and Thomas Crosier as well. I have done some research for them.
Great video!
Is the city or state participating in the campaign?
😮.🎉.
Cool video, thanks for posting.
We forget World War 2 so quickly. The sculptor's efforts to get his statue displayed in a public place and the resistance he met even in 2008 shocked me entirely. Then, we have the case of the Ukrainian SS fighter being applauded in our Canadian Parliament by everyone including Zelenskyy and his wife without anyone giving it a moment's thought. I heard about Mildred and her husband because Rebecca Downer was born in Canada and CBC did a story on her book. You'd think if Jean Moulin could be honoured by big wigs including DeGaulle in France, Mildred Fish Harnack and her husband could be honoured in some small way by her alma mater and his, wouldn't you?
Great program. Certainly food for thought. Looking forward to future presentations.
I know I have sent this to you before but I am the great granddaughter of grandpa Blaney. He was my mothers grandpa and we did grow up at 3653 N. Sawyer in Chicago.

I may come and visit. I repaired subs in the Navy in 70s. SSBNs in Rota Spain
Glad to see Wisconsin has a channel. Anchors Aweigh!
I had to learn about this in my homework packet
Hello (very distant) cousin! Thank you for this video and research! Capt. Blaney is my Great great Great Grandfather, by way of Mary A. Blaney (Crosier). I also share a love of the Great Lakes and of the Upper Peninsula, and my middle name comes from him and his father! One day i'll make it to your museum!
We are planning to come visit after attending a Green Bay game. We’re trying to work out the time. By the way my name is Mike Cobia. The fish was named after our family According to family lore. As reliable as that is.
When I was just 19, I served aboard the USS Sailfish, SS572 in 1963, a diesel boat out of New London, just like this one. God I loved these boats.
Thank you for creating this video my dad HMC Herb “Doc” Starmer served aboard the USS COBIA 245 during WWII, he’s the sailor the sailor climbing back on board with the big grin and shorts no shirt after saving a downed Naval Aviator. My dad was very proud of his service to our country during WWII as was all 7 of us kids. Thank you again my dad passed in 2016 and this brought back many memories I have of my dad, he was a Hospital corpsman so he was the doctor on the boat, dad worked on the sailor that died for several hours before he succumbed to his injuries, I remember my dad telling us kids all about his time on the Cobia it was the best time of his life!
Thank you for sharing your story. I drove 8 hours in one day just so my husband could tour this ship. We made it back to our motel just two minutes before it closed up for the night!😃 I was shocked at how small of room there was for people to move around. Reality looks much different then the Big Spacious looking submarines that Hollywood presents us! By the time we reached the last room of the tour I had an asthma attack and wanted out! Gee Whiz. I couldn’t last for even the duration of a non war time, relaxed, fun tour!!! What a Sacrifice Your dad and the other men made for our freedom! God Bless all of the memories of your wonderful dad and thanks for my freedom. I honor your family with heartfelt thanks and prayers that you will live out your days blessed! Much Love and Gratitude 😃❤️
i watched an Episode of "The Clone Wars" in this sub
Cannot hear 🙉. Sorry won't waste my time. CRANK UP THE VOLUME PLEASE!
This is a great video! Planning to visit this May from Oklahoma.
My grandfather was Ray Eugene Martin. My grandmother sent a telegram notifying him of the birth of his son (my father)... the very next day she received a telegram stating he was "lost at sea". ❤️
HARLEY HOOD WAS MY UNCLE. MAY HE AND THE OTHERS REST IN PEACE.
Thanks for sharing about the whitefish. I was looking for anatomy of whitefish, just because I'm a curious fisherman learning about the species.
My uncle was John fricker..
Wow this is amazing!
Glad I could help Start up the Engines, It was a Joy helping Restore some parts.
i had this randomly show up on my feed, so i took a risk and what a happy risk that turned out to be . this was great, thank you
