ah! sorry for the late response, but this video is a bit outdated since I have a better camera system done for a different project, though for both I dont mess with the drag margins, I manipulate the position directly. Here's how I handle horizontal movement (note that this is not the same code as in the video; but its the same underlying principle): # PlayerCamera.gd func _horizontal(): move_speed.x = abs(player.velocity.x/24) if abs(player.velocity.x/24) > min_change_speed else min_change_speed # ---- Boundaries # Moving to the right; keep player on leftward bound. if player_distance.x > left_bound and !facing_left: new_distance.x = player.global_position.x - left_bound # Moving to the left; keep player on rightward bound. if player_distance.x < right_bound and facing_left: new_distance.x = player.global_position.x - right_bound # ---- Thresholds if player_distance.x < left_threshold and !facing_left: facing_left = true if player_distance.x > right_threshold and facing_left: facing_left = false if abs(new_distance.x) > 0: follow_position.x = move_toward(follow_position.x, new_distance.x, move_speed.x) follow_position.x = clamp(follow_position.x, limit_left, limit_right) i call this function in _physics_process() in the camera's script. Also in _physics_process() is this after the other function calls: global_position = follow_position + view_offset you def have to tweak a LOT of values around to get a really good result, but it is worth it :) good luck on your gamedev journey!
