Hi Damien. I want to know if you installed this locked transaxle back on the machine and used it for a while. How did it hold up? Not too many videos on YT demonstratimg this technique. I found an extra spider gear for my transaxle for $18, not too bad. I like that it can be removed and "unlocked" in the future. Thanks also for the tip about removing the key from one wheel so it can freewheel to make turning easier.
@steverrada it held up great. Just member u can't turn tight with both keyways in
Thanks great idea I did not want to move mounts or Jack engine ! Thanks for this video!
@ktmgirl1945 ty and I hope everything works out for you. To current fate it's still going
old vid I know, but that's gonna or should have popped out easy. not in far enough
It still in their. I don't own it anymore I gave to my brother and it's still running like a top.
I remember when I held the phone for this video and was snickering in the background. This is your little brother shanearooski
I'm about to try this but I know it's just temp fix. 👌
👉
Very good.
It doesn't deal with the problem really ... The belt continues to slip on the pulleys ... Perhaps it slips even more offering less torque ... So oil pump, water pump etc might work less adequately ...
No its not a perm fix. Just to shut it up. And it was the idler . It was fine after i changed it in tge mean time the squeak drives me crazy. My little brothers problem cause i ga e him the truck( single cab he has no kids) and bought a ext cab truck to have room for my son. (4yrs old)
Quik fix not a perm fix...U listening

2 plugs hide behind the mounts yes?
Yes
Thank u I'm about replace that same one we were going to pull lift the engine to get to it
Wish u all the luck my friend, let me know how it goes
Dude your a real man, good job. But you need to speak ENGLISH.
😆 some of my teeth were broken in that video, their fixed now though, kind of an adrenaline junky, and it has its cons as well as pros(:
Good job man.
Thank you friend. I hate working on vehicles. I'm gonna try leverage before removing my starter to get to it. GOD bless us all.
good luck my friend , this is my little brothers truck now and its 250k and still holding .
Could you put a smaller gear on the back so you go faster
smaller pulley on the transfer case, and larger pulley in front allows for speed
@@damienwolff1752 but could you change the gearing in the transmission
@@sgtblooper11brav42 anything is possible
Great video. I got to put the ones behind the motor in a few days. So I decided to pull the 5.9 out and do them all. And since I'm pulling the motor out,go to upgrading distributor timing and cam. Any suggestions on what to get on a simple upgrade. Great video
if its all stock, id stay with all stick settings, also i would check everythi g on it , if i pulled the motor out of this one i wouldve pulled and rebuilt the tranny while i was in thier, rebuild kit for tranny is like 200 ish , change the oil sparks and everything like u said and u might get another w00k out if it , this ones my brothers now at 260k and still going strong
@@damienwolff1752 mine has over 430000 miles a Texas Ranger had this truck and made its way to South Georgia. I just want it to chop a little
@@charleswronge4743 Tennessee, i gave that truck to my little brother , i yad it 9yrs, hes had it 6mnths, its still running strong but about time to change the oil again and line up the front end, check over everything , i got a 96 z71 5.7, ive allways wanted a z71 and man if its not a clean truck, but its ext cab and thats what i need for my son, its white with gray interior like the didge
Great video, but I wouldn’t advise to use sealer. The point of the freeze plug is for it to pop out in the event that the coolant freezes. If it can’t pop out, your block will crack. Best of luck to you.
thiers plenty more to pop out(: and its still running like a top, I used to work out of state and we were gone for like 2 mnths , unexpected. so i diddnt have time to prep it for winter i usually stay on top of it but i gave it to my brother , heh heh his problem now . I only used that sealer cause its so old .
actually they are casting plugs from where the sand molds used in casting the block is "shaken out of the water jackets. they might pop out when the block freezes but not always before the block cracks. I had a ford motor that froze before i bought it and popped out several "freeze plugs" later when i started to rebuild it the block had a major crack internally.
Damien, good call on the Permatex! Thank you for the video! My 00 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 is dripping just a little and your video is very helpful! My engine only has 84K on it but it is 20 years old so I’m guessing this is normal? Either that or OEM parts are shit!
ty you , i appreciate your feed back, idk if its normal, but with 250k miles it reqiures alot of attn, just small stuff, still running strong, just needs maint, may go to 350k, as far as ur 00 , alot of it is prev owner maint, and if u use anykind of permatex use 600° becuase although ir block doesnt get that hot, ur exhuast puts off heat, and let it dry 24k to fully cure , roughing the area and using carb cleaner will make it stick really good, good luck and dont be a stranger
@@damienwolff1752 you did very good dude 👍👍👍👍
Very creative!
Nice prybars at harbor freight 😉
good idea prying it in . just talked to my friend a 55 year old life time mechanic andhe says dont be afraid to use the rubber with brass caps expansion type freeze plugs as they will hold out . im doin my 2000 5.9 ram drivers side behind motor mount today . i'll report results for others when can
Well, this old truck has 240k on it, im limited on tools and resources, so i have to make do with what ever i can scavenge or find laying around, the block has about a 2 inch hairline crack in it, so this summer i plan on building a new 5.9 and rebuilding the tranny, i mean if ur going to do one u should probably go ahead and do the other, i have a few friends that mechanic, ones around 55, he doesent like the rubber plugs either, i probably wasnt putting it in right or had the wrong size, i wish you good luck with that engine , and for future reference, if u order a water pump make sure u stress the fact that its a magnum charge. I found out the hard way its a reverse pump, a screw driver thru the pulley, needlevice grips attached to the screwdriver on the innerside, bout a 12 inch cresent and u can pop the fan clutch right off
Its not reverse thread either. Least not on mine anyways, ha ha , i like that term prying it in, i havent ever heard it put that way, imma use that
I've had a rubber one in mine for 2years and I worry about it. Doing brass soon
its still holding btw(:
i miss you already
i miss you uncle Damien
have to rem to keep bat charged
