I made it with your explanations, works beautifully except I had to change line 29 in your arduino code from "pinMode(SWR,INPUT);" to"pinMode(SWR,INPUT_PULLUP);" otherwise rotary encoder would not work properly, and also I had to solder a pulldown resistor 47kohm between Gate and Source pins of the Mosfet IRFZ44N otherwise the LED would stay on constantly.

Beautiful project that works well. Why do units always advance by 2 (and not by 1) with each encoder click? Is there a solution? Thank you very much.
