Today on 8 Dec 2024, Limbu Department of Khangchendzonga State University, Sikkim had successfully organized a Winter Limbu Poetry Festival at Seminar hall, KSU. Tadong. The programme started with the lighting of lamp along with the singing of Mundhumic prayer by the students of 1st semester and followed by the Limbu welcome song composed by Dr. BL Khamdhak. Raju Samsingboo( President os YSSSC) was the chief guest of the programme.
In the programme there were two sessions conducted. In the first session there was a participation of 10 poets and poetry lovers: S.P Mangyung, Bishnu Setling, Raju Limbu, San Bir Limbu, Lahang Limbu, Monahang Limbu, Oti Hangma Limbu, Madan Hang Limbu, Arun Kumar Limbu & Bindu Limbu, from outside university who recited their own poems of creation individually and in the second session there were participation of 9 Limbu students from 1st and 2nd semester. The participants were certified after each sessions.
It was a great initiative taken by Dr. Budhi L Khamdhak, HOD of Limbu dept, KSU in coordination with his students. Overall the event was fruitful and festive for all the literary lovers. Hoping the Limbu dept, KSUS to continue with this spirit and organize such literary festivals in coming days making our literature grow more stronger and enjoyable.
