When I first moved to Gainesville I locked our bikes to the stairs in our apartment complex. The were gone the next day. And a year later my Honda was stolen. Thank goodness that was the extent of my experience for the 20 years I lived in Gainesville FL

@@scronx I believe there’s always two sides. There is the good and then there is the not so good. And you have to weigh the pros and cons of both to make the decision that’s best for you. @@gainesvillefloridaliving Well how kind of you. I knew people who left GV because of the heat -- am sure I wouldn't be able to stand the natural conditions. Are there no-see-ums there?

@@scronx yes we have no-see-ums. I travel all of Florida and find I encounter them more on the water or wooded areas. If you are in a highly populated area no so much because they normally spray for pest. For many the heat is to much to live with and I respect their decision. For me, cold weather is not for me. lol.

@@gainesvillefloridaliving Well that's my problem -- I escaped Jew Jersey because of (among other things) the cold and there's still too much of it in South Carolina!

People should have information to make the best decision for them. Not everyone who comes to Gainesville loves it. I share my customers top reasons why they did not move to Gainesville or moved out of Gainesville. I place people above a pay check. 🙂 Of course no place is perfect but Gainesville is my place and I love it.

@@tintmasterjv I wish I owned that house in the background. As an investor we only purchase single story homes, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 car garage close to the top employers so they are desirable to renters. AC’s have to work hard when the temps are 100 and trying to cool to 74 for 5 months a year. It is what it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Everyplace on earth has pros and cons. Micanopy has amazing hiking and walking trails. Abundant wildlife to watch. And the sunsets over the preserve are breathtaking. The small town is a nice get away for a day. Where do you live now?

What part of the Northeast? I grew up in Fort Walton Beach and Navarre and Destin. It is great there is no snow and we can be outdoors every day of the year. We can fish, scuba dive, bike, boat, golf and play tennis every day (unless there is a hurricane). 😊. Then I need to mow the yard before the rain will have it grow 3 more inches

@@gainesvillefloridaliving I live in Fleming Island (other side of the river from Jacksonville and south of the western portion of the city). It's 40 degrees this morning so predawn will be cool (especially a motorcycle ride). This is the hour shift I referred too. Even in the places where it's said there's nothing to do that I've lived I was busy the whole time (military moved me to some places you would hate, but I was ok with it). It always comes down to this..... it's what you make of it. I've lived where there is absolutely nothing, yet I also stayed busy there too. Talent trumps entertainment always as it's basically 24/7/365/all weather/all places/ alone or with others. People that need to be fed will be hungry often.
