Just for the fun of making videos.
Nxai Pan - Baines Baobab - Kubu Island 2023
This video was a quick break away over a long weekend at the end of April 2023. The whole getaway holiday was based around the beautiful Baobab trees and the awesome wildlife sightings at Nxai Pan. We also had the privilege to get our family on our last night of the trip at Kubu Island. They where on there way up in Africa and we where on our way homewards.
Go and check there adventure as they travel to amazing places on their bikes.@onourbikeslife

Just like apemen to build little cairns, defacing nature. Only leave footprints!! This woke culture is an abomination. Don't take Menlyn to the desert. This horrid practice should be outlawed.

This is my dream car 27 y/o and saving up for one. You showed it off strikingly, your videography is on point! Keep up with this!
Which Maps did you use ? Where were you around 9.35 - Nth, Sth, East or West of ……. Ditto the Platform around 11.20? Truck ….. ? Thnx
Good day @WildlifeObsessed We used the latest Tracks4Africa maps. We were on our way back to SA and just drove around Kubu Island until we found a beautiful place to take a photo. The platform was next to the road as we drove through the bush on the outskirts of the pan. The old truck is on the corner between where the bikes turns to Francistown and we went Stockpoort Border Post. I will attach the coordinates ASAP of all the places.
How did yall set up yalls watering system I would like to know
Good day @charliebrown1728 We used macro irrigation at each tree.
AFAIK you are generally not allowed to fly drones in the National Parks in Botswana. Did you have permission to do so?
Hi Great question, thanks for asking @AslamBhorat So, I use a DJI Mini 2 which is below the required weight limit (250g), so I don't need a license to be able to fly it. I also never fly it close to wildlife or other campers/people. I only flew at Baines and Kubu Island because it is so remote and to capture the size and wonderfulness of the trees. But to answer your question, yes you are not allowed to fly drones in any National Park whether it is in Botswana, South Africa, Namibia etc. And no I did not get any permission for anything. It is often easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
Beautiful video. Aerial views are so epic.
Thanks
How matters have changed from when I first went through Botswana in 1964 by schoolbus grom Pretoria. Ftown to Maun ...sand which had has repeatedly stuck for hours...camped at Wilmots crocodile hunting camp outside Maun. Into Delta by boat. Then north into newly proclaimed Moremi Game Reserve. Clutch burned out at Mababe. 4 days camped at roadside before we got a spare and fitted it. Then on north across Tsotsoragha to Chobe. Crossed Zambezi on ferry then to Vic falls and back to Pretoria.
Sounds like one crazy fun trip you had.
Hi Dewald, For some or other strange reason we never got around visiting Baines Boabab's before. Not that we did not want to, just as the trips were planned Baines Boabab's were always ignored... 😞 Watching your video, we WILL do a Baines / Nxai pan for our next trip. I have subscribed. I enjoyed you video ! Thank you
Hi Braam and Magda Thank you for your comment. Nxai pan and Baines is absolutely worth visiting. Can't wait to see your video about your trip. @ExperienceWildAfrica
Outstanding!
