You are very beautiful ❤️
Thank you! I hope you subscribed to our channel for some inspiring, entertaining and informative videos. 😁
Nice video 👍
Thanks! ☺️
apparently DE harms bees ?!!! so I would prob only use on the ground.... I actually read in someones comments peppermint oil sprayed onto plants is excellent for bugs and they said after using this they had more bees than ever. I found the Kaolin clay wasnt that great, plants dont like it that much, bees seemed to be less, so today started using peppermint essential oil 7 drops in 500ml spray bottle. easier than any clay, so lets see what happens 😀might use more oil not sure, experimenting. Started drinking the DE yesterday though.
Interesting! Please let me know how the peppermint oil works out for you. Always looking for safer ways to protect fruit and beneficial insects, but get rid of pests.
@@DandDGardening Certainly will do... This is the comment that made me interested in Peppermint Oil 😀.... """Again, I had decided to give up growing squash because of squash bugs & SVB infestations every year. As a LAST RESORT I tried peppermint essential oil 1 tsp per gallon of water & spray on plants once they germinate. I have the most awesome plants this year - and NO BUGS. I am spraying every other evening but want to experiment with less frequency.lant as well. I actually spray the diluted mixture on the entire plant. Especially at the base. In the evening so no pollinators are present. Spray does not keep bees away. Have more bees this year than ever. I just know that it works for me in Zone 7. It's been suggested to use Basil essential oil on tomatoes. Will try that from the beginning next year. Rob Backyard Gardenerr 1 tsp peppermint per gallon of water & squirt of Dawn. Applied every other day in the evening as prevention """ And now that youtuber is using Peppermint Oil too because of this comment.
Your garden is still looking amazing, thanks for sharing..new friend here.
Yay! Welcome to the family! I'm so glad you're here! 🥰
I know some gardeners do not like using DE but my slugs are out of control 💔
I understand what you mean. I would rather use it and not have to battle every ant, snail, grasshopper, etc. that decides it wants to take over my crops.
Logs as in putting logs in to the bottom of the raised bed? I think it's a preference to be honest. So, I keep a bowl with some ice in it, in front of the fan. I will be singing ).
Do you think the logs would be useful for people in the Southern Hemisphere where we are just heading into Summer shortly here in December? I had a lot of success with my early spring seeds. And so I’ve done the same thing as you and ordered a second batch of seeds for late summer, autumn and over-wintering and went a little crazy! Without some planning I could get a little overwhelmed.
I do! Now I will admit that I no longer use this log because I filled it up really quickly. I would suggest a spiral/notebook type log. I have a ton more seeds and I'm more organized now than I was before. I did get overwhelmed very quickly, but writing down the pertinent information and info on how the seeds performed has been invaluable. 😉
@@DandDGardeningI’m thinking of using the book as a template. Taking pages out that I’ll use regularly and photocopying to put in a binder. Planting seeds is fairly addictive if gardening is really your thing. All the best for your seed collection!
That's a great idea! It's extremely addictive. That's how i end up with more seeds than I probably need and can plant at one time. My backyard isn't big enough for all the food I'd like to grow, but I'm working on a workaround right now 😁. My only regret is that i started so late in life, but I'm grateful I started!
It is my first time on your channel and I have just subscribed. Thank you so much for sharing. Keep up the good work. Happy gardening. All the best on this journey.😊🙏

Your hair looks great!! 🥰🥰🥰 The beans look yummy.
Awww! Thanks! I got tired of the tri-color of my hair. My husband didn't care, but I was like, I need to get this stuff situated, 😂. I'm waiting until I harvest more beans, then I'm going to can those with some potatoes mixed in with them.
Your funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I like how you take the stems off. I def like listenign to music. I hope your watch is waterproof. Does your husband have a british accent?
😂😂😂 No. I don't. That's our A.I. friend.
Thanks! No, he doesn't. He uses this AI voice-over software for my voice "assistant."
Oh, and yep, my watch is waterproof 😁.
Anything with meat should be water bath 3 hours plus elevation or pressure canned at 90 minutes.
Thanks for the info. The meat cooked alone for 2 hours, then the greens were added, and it cooked for 2-1/2 hours, then finally, when canned, it cooked for an additional 2 hours.

@DandDGardening you're welcome and glad to be on board
will u reuse your soil from the pots that did not produce anything?
Absolutely! I'll add some compost and fertilizer, then reuse it for some new veggies 😋.
Thank you for sharing your grow zone...which is mine as well, yay! Love your hair btw
Thanks!
I believe that's how they all look.
Really? The red ones looked terrible! 😅
So happy your channel fell into my pot lol. You are so encouraging because I have been recording my garden videos for my new channel, I just have not posted them yet smh. Nerves, I guess. I even have a few of those shaped pots like that, that have just collected dust because I wasn't sure what to grow in them. I 'm just overthinking, so thank you again. Your new subscriber
You can do it! Just think of it as if you're talking to a family member or friend. That's how I do it. That's why whenever I get new subscribers, I always say, welcome to the family! So, welcome to the family!
I'm hardheaded...I subscribed and liked lol. Thanks for the info. I've never tried carrots before, I will start some this weekend!
😂😂😂😂
You're not alone... I'm hard-headed too! 😂 It's actually really easy! The hardest thing is deciding which type of carrots you want to grow. 😉 Welcome to the family and thank you for subscribing!
Great advice that I will try this week. Thanks.
Thanks! I would love to see the finished area. Then you cold see my area flies.
Last year I planted onion bulb starts (sets?) from Home Depot. After I bought them and planted them, they only doubled in size😟 For the price I paid for them, I realized it would have been cheaper (especially since they didn't really grow for me) if I just bought them from the store. I'm now testing my luck with seeds. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Good luck to you! I've not had luck with seeds 😕. They get a certain size, then flop over and die. I've tried the starts, they didn't work either, but I'm determined to get something to work for me (trying to stay positive 🙂). Let me know how they turn out for you. 🤞
Your channel came into my feed and I'm enjoying it! Just subbed
Thank you! Welcome to the family! 🥰
Hi D, I have seeded some carrots so I need to repot them in a larger container. Thanks for the tips. New subscriber
Yay! I love carrots 🥕 (as you can probably tell). Welcome to the family!
Loved loved loved this video!! Funny and informative!!
Thanks and welcome to the family! 🥰
Great video! Your egg carton idea is genius. Thinning out carrots seedlings is a ridiculous task. I am definitely trying it this way with my students.
Yay! I'm so glad it was helpful! I'm absolutely lazy when it comes to thinning out seedlings, and I think it's such a waste. At least this way you know they're spaced properly. 😊
I am hearing more and more about native plants being easier to raise and better for wildlife, like milkweed for Monarch butterflies.
I've thought about planting plants that would attract butterflies 🦋 and dragonflies along our fence perimeter. I know they would help with keeping the bad bugs out of the garden.
Such a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching! I hope you subscribed to get more content! 😁
Hey everyone. At the 7-minute mark, you can see the progress of the carrots. Growing in the grow bags using the egg Crate method.
Yes, you can. They are growing beautifully!
Yes examine those pots for creepy crawlers. You are so adorable . I love it!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I swear those grasshoppers are out to get me! 😂
Just watch out for that grasshopper. !!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Right!
I’m also freaked out by the bugs, I don’t get it when i see all gardeners just happy and dandy all the time without showing any sort of fear with the bugs. I even put a bonnet on so nothing goes in my curls, it will be so difficult to find anything here lol 😂
🤣🤣🤣 I'm that way about my locs! That's why I try to keep my hair in a ponytail. I can not stand bugs. I know some are beneficial, but they freak me out. Yuck! 😅
I just found u yesterday and i love it, this is exactly how i record my videos, how it happens, i like to keep it real, i just never upload them lol 😂, or i take forever to do so, I’m also learning from your videos some tricks to apply to my own situation in my zone which i think it is 6B. Thanks for your videos :)
Yay! Welcome to the family! My husband does all my editing and uploading for me (thank goodness). I believe the only way for us to learn is to see everything, the good, bad, and the ugly 😅.
just viewed your collard greens harvest. I googled canning collard greens and found a few videos for canning collards. So you might want to check it out. Good harvest - enjoyed viewing.
Thanks! I googled it as well. I'll have a video coming soon about cooking and canning collard greens! 🥰
What a smart idea, using an egg carton on top of fabric bag!! I've never been successful with growing carrots. They would germinate, then the seedlings would start to grow & boom .... dead! Happens every time to me.
I found that the key is fertilizing and watering. They require quite a bit of both. Especially during the summer ☀️ when it's hot. This is my second time growing carrots, so I'm hoping this batch will be better than the first. 😅
Hello! Loved this video!💛💚❤️
Thank you!! I hope you subscribe for more awesome content! 😁
I noticed your orange buckets, if your wish to have FREE and food grade bucket from any bakery near you, just ask for empty frosting buckets.:)
Oooh! I didn't think about that! Thanks for the tip!
I just found your channel!! I have to agree with you about the 5 gallon bucket vs. the grow bag!! I have grow bags & I definately will try this method!! I save my egg cartons so this would be perfect for me! Wish I could do this in my garage & have them grow through the winter!!
Believe me, I wish I could grow some veggies in my house as well. I've seen people who have those grow tents in their home, and they grow things like lettuce and radishes, but I haven't seen any other veggies grown this way.
Yes, you can can collard greens for long-term storage. You can freeze collard greens and they can last up to 12 months in the freezer. You need to blanch them first. you can also dehydrate collard greens. you need to steam them for 2-3 mins first
OMG! Thank you for the info. I'm definitely going to can my greens. I was so curious about that. Yay!

I put layout the wet paper towel with the germinated seeds on top of the soil. Then lightly spread a thin layer of soil on top of the paper towel. Press down and sprinkle water. Keep the soil moist until they start growing. When they grow to about 2 inches, just thin out to allow more room for carrots to grow fully. Carrots are heavy feeders so check to make sure soil is moist, especially when weather gets hot. Those cloth grow bags dry out very quickly . Also remember to fertilize appropriately every month too. I used bone meal and potassium a lot. Much easier to grow carrots this way.
I've been watering every-other-day just to make sure they stay moist. I've also been using fish emulsion to fertilize. I'm lazy with thinning out, which led me to try this method. 😅
🥰🥰🥰
Have u tried using a trellis for the peas? I wish I had a nursery that wasn’t a big box store near me I’d be there all the time
I did, but I don't think I did it correctly 😅. I'll be trying them again very soon.
I do the same . Music keeps in the rhythm when I am cleaning.
Yes, yes! I can get so much done with my music going!
New here thank you for sharing! Have a blessed day! 💜

😂😂. It's all good. It happens sometimes
So true 😅
You are adorable!!
when the corn has tassles the wind or you lightly shake it so the pollen will fertile the corn... Never prune tomato plants. you might cut of the stem that produces the fruit. especially cherry tomato. Your garden is beautiful.
I was shaking them gently every morning, but I think I had them planted too closely. I was really looking forward to my 1st corn 🌽, but there's always spring!
You are so funny . Love it!!!
