I may have mentioned this prior, who remembers these days? He's also a brilliant producer of Prefab Sprout. That alone puts him in a very unique and special pantheon. He may not be as well known here in USA due to commerce always topping artistic vision. They couldn't put him in a box they wanted. Joe Jackson, anyone?

In my opinion this is Dolby's better work. I usually test audio equipment playing either Steely Dan's aja or this album. Highly underrated !

I love how he plays with pitch bending here and there. Mostly pretty subtle stuff but to great effect. The theremin solo is wildly out of tune, but you wouldn’t want it any other way.

I was about 19 when I first heard this album, still listening to it at 52. One of the best composed and arranged albums ever, especially this absolute gem of a song ❤️

This song is absolutely sublime, an opera nearly in one song, 8.40 minutes of pure genius, deeply layered, musically constructed to perfection. Remains one off my all time favourite Dolby songs.

A lot of covers are iffy, but Cole just covers this song so damn well. Perhaps even better than The Man himself.
