I’ve been doing music on computer for almost 40 years now (yep, even if I started young, I’m getting old), so I’ve been collecting sample libraries and plugins for ages and I already have WAY too many of them… and yet, here I am checking one more video of plugins to check out… maybe thinking I would know all already, right? Nope… I actually didn’t knew the last ones you showed, I guess I’m good to check them out now… LOL. But I like your other choices, even some old school stuff like Xpand! and the Roland SRX… it remembers me when I had my Fantom XR rack with SRX cards loaded… you were the King/Queen of the world back then if you had it, that, a Korg Triton and a Yamaha Motif. That’s why I also got the Korg Collection 5… you can rent-to-own them on Splice, definitely worth it if you’re old school. Now all I really want is for Yamaha to make their Motif/Montage plugin… Also, if you like some old sounds (that are still great to use in any modern prod), I would recommend the old EMU stuff like Mo’Phatt, Proteus, Orbit V3, etc… You can get them as a Kontakt library at DigitalSoundFactory… back then I did compare them with my hardware units and it sounded just the same. And my last recommendation (to share with you since you shared yours), I would also recommend XO from XLN Audio, if you have a folder with plenty of drums WAV files, it’s generally painful to scroll through folders to find the right kick, snare, etc… with XO, it does scan your whole folder and then show you the files as a “cloud” of dot/stars, where each dot is a file, so you can just law your mouse over and find sounds without typing any name or without going into any folder. Then you can tweak the sound, try some pattern, etc… and if you like the result, you can drag and drop (midi or audio) directly in your DAW. That’s one plugin I really love for electronic drums. I hope it could help anyone reading this…. Just as much as I like your videos. First time viewer, but that’s an instant sub. Anyone that remind me to check some plugins or library deserves a sub :) Merry Xmas!
