I think this is a carbs model. Nice video though. Keep going and drop by when you can to check what I do. Cheers.
I have a 750 ace too
I almost bought a new 1998 Shadow 750 ACE (brown and tan, NOT black), but because of the tube type tires, I decided to pass on it and bought a new leftover 1997 Yamaha Virago 750 instead. I don't know what Honda has against tubeless tires. Back in 1986, they designed some beautiful wire spoked wheels for tubeless tires for the Rebel 450, only made that bike for 2 years, and those wheels have never been seen again. I've been riding for 49 years, and never liked windshields. If you want a windshield, get a car. The 1997 Shadow 750 ACE had the speedometer on the bars. Honda said they designed those tubeless tire wheels for the Rebel 450 because they believed tube type tires were not safe for any bike larger than 250cc. They got that right. They are not safe on ANY street bike. They also said they put the speedometer on the bars on the early Shadows because they did not believe it was safe to put it on the tank. Looks like they didn't care about rider safety for very long.
Can you drive from the United States on a Honda Shadow motorcycle and back or not? Have you tried it? I'm in Georgia. Is it too dangerous? Is the temperature the same there year around. I have a friend Elise and she always talked about Costa Rica like it was her promised land. I have a Honda CM450 and CMX250 and am about to buy a 2008 Honda Shadow Spirit.
Awesome clip.
Great video with down to earth experience and advice on Honda Shadows! Most Shadows don't come with passing lights installed. Where did you find those passing lights for your Shadow? As a new rider, I concur with your advice to get a lower cc (like 250-350cc) bike as your first bike. I did,and it allowed me to try out new techniques (esp slow speed maneuvers) which I'd be intimidated to try out on a bike auch as the Shadow 750. Keep making more vlogs.👌 Ride aafe!
I personally would rather have twisty roads than flat, straight boring multi-lane freeways. You've got amazing views on views.
Really try laying over a Harley
While you are changing fluids don’t forget the fork oil. Most bikes that are ridden around 10,000 miles a year really benefit from new oil, so much that you will be immediately aware of how much better the fork will handle bumps on the road.
CR is beautiful. I'm planning to test this bike on the highways of South Africa.
That was a huge plot twist
98? It has the 01-03 tank and instrument panel. 98-00 has the speedo over the head light. I've had mine for 20 years.
Non US models had them on the tank!
Love this Chanel!
my first instinct was, this dude doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, a motorcycle that weights close to 550lbs with only has 43 hp can't have enough power for anything, then i saw you pass the car and more over i heard you pass the car and the 2000 shadow i just bought doesn't sound or move anything like yours which sent me on a quest for answers and what i discovered to be honest right now has put me somewhere between sick to my stomach and totally irate but i have a question, you just referred to your bike as a honda shadow ace, is your shadow shaft or chain driven????
still got it?
Thank you for the content
A shadow has enough power to ride 2 comfortably at interstate speeds in the US and still have plenty of throttle left to pass. I love my Phantom and I don’t need to be going over 100mph to say I enjoy riding. I’ve crisscrossed the United States and had the time of my life.
Great to read that. Planning of getting one of these. Should I get the carb or the fuel injected model. :) Drop by bro, you may like my content. Cheers.
@05:12 no bikers greeting? :D
Had one in 2003 didn't like it. Should have been a 6 speed. Not good on long trips. But and arms hert after 70 miles. For a 750 didn't have near the power of a 70s 750.
I just got a K&N air filter for my ACE on Costa Rica from amazon and had it delivered through my currier, you can get the filter on some shops in san jose, but you might have to travel to the capital
K&N air filters will allow sand into your engine and ruin it over time. OEM Honda parts are best!
put straight handle bars you can lean it and smaller tank
is it kmh or mph ?
Great review :)
Thank you for this video! I'll be traveling solo & driving myself around Costa Rica later this year so I'm glad to see what some of the roads and towns are like beforehand.
I ,ove mine I am glad to see yours running and doing so good
Air filter is under your seat
I'm not into sport bikes . The Shadow is perfect for me .
Beautiful country man ...
I'm thinking bout getting a Honda Shadow 750. But boy I gotta tell ya... ...it seemed like you were FLYING.!!!
Saludos colega, que bueno que te guste mi país Costa Rica , muy bonita tu shadow, yo tengo una de esas bellezas también , excelente motocicleta 💪😎. Buen video 👍👍👍
When I put a windshield on my Shadow for highway rides, the best angle for preventing turbulence was matching the windshield angle to parallel the forks.
Cool video. I've never been to Costa Rica. View from a motorcycle is nice.
In America the 750 will open up to over 100 mph and handle like it was cruising at 35 mph
Shorts and bikes should not go together.
I have my 04 750cc aero and I love it, just oil change and gas it is aways ready to go 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
how do you find it on highway? I have an 03 ace and I always found its missing a gear on highways
me to i have Aero 2016 ABS, just oil and gas.
Bill Yonair this bike is not made for speed, just for cruising like 70-80 mph is excellent with lots of power, don’t need 6 speeds in my opinion 👍🏻
Is the ACE hydraulic valves? (no adjustments needed etc).. Awesome bike
Locknut valves. Supposed to service them
Get the honda vt1100 they have no valve adjustment but be prepared the vt1100 weigh alot more but it's manageable
the perfect bike for the soil it is on and must say I love the roads you show us
Such a pretty scene!!!
That's Costa Rica
Beautiful scenery! must be awesome to have that as your everyday view! Lovely bike too! it's the perfect bike to cruise around and enjoy the views You don't need to go fast to enjoy the ride!
I've only owned one bike with the speedo on the gas tank and I hated it. It looked nice but was not ergonomic. I could rarely see it because I wear a full-face helmet and had to bend my head down instead of just glance down at the handlebar area; besides, when I did look down, I could hardly read it because of the glare from the sun's reflection. Couldn't find the air filter? Look for a big, shiny thing next to your right knee.
I also hate the windshield for the same reason. I even fashioned a bigger one for it and no improvement.
Seeing much out of your left mirror?
I love my 2001 ACE. 111,000 miles.
Not trying to up you. My Honda ACE has 175,000 and because I baby it she feels like day 1. Well put together bikes. I am blessed enough to own 3 bikes… but my Honda is my ( GO TO ) bike my Harley ALMOST Always has an issue. The Yamaha bolt is another well built bike.
@@Taino871 175,000 is crazy thats awesome that the bike lasted that long. I just bought a 2002 last week but it needed some basic maintenance done. It was sitting for a year so I’m just waiting until my mechanic is done with it
Wow Costa Rica is next level beautiful,I can see why you live there!....and losers in pick up trucks are the same all over the world, thay love pissing of motor bike riders😠.... great video my man 😎🇨🇰
. motor bikes go as fast as you want them to go no matter how big the motors are!!.....I have one and there like riding a lazy boy recliner,.... great video!!
I have a 2004 Honda ST1300, and a 2001 Honda Ace, the st1300 I got in June of this year 2020, and ACE last year 2019. The ACE is an AWESOME, AWESOME bike. I road to Ohio from Detroit, Michigan for 8 hours with all Harley's, and had no problems keeping up! and lets just say we ran in the 100's... lol. I think the year your bike came out is the year Harley sued Honda, or should I say TRYED to sue Honda...lol. I want you, and you lady to be safe, and ride safe.
Thanks man, always appreciate the support
Thanks for the great review and information! Also, the views of your riding are really beautiful!
Glad to see you back. Was afraid you may have gone back to the US. Keep the videos coming. I enjoy.
Wow glad I gave you a chance and watched the video cause yeah the bike is pretty fucking awesome. I was going to get the 690 but the 790 has all the features built in.
