Sono molto ignoranti,a me negli Stati Uniti hanno chiesto se ero della mafia, preciso che sono di Bologna, e quando mi sono arrabbiata perchèl ho detto che l' Italia non è la mafia, mi hanno risposto che non ero italiana perchè in Italia siamo tutti mafiosi.E'inutile cercare di spiegare loro le cose, tanto noi siamo solo conosciuti per la mafia, la pizza, Venezia e Napoli

Here in Italy we study geography and history at school, plus different languages .In the U.S.A there's no culture,at all.The only words that some Americans say are'BUENOS DIAS, HAY MUCHO CALOR,GRACIAS,thinking they're speaking Italian without having the slighest idea that all these words are Spanish and not Italian.That's so funny and sad at the same time, 'cause you're very ignorant.I know it hurts a lot but it's just the truth.

@@oxigenarian9763 I 've lived for a while in Bethesda,M.D..Therefore I know the American lifestyle and mentality, but I donato understand you Italian Americans,'cause most of you do not even know where Italy is on map and do not understand Italian.Latinos speak Spanish and English and are more united than Italian Americans from a language point of view.

@@emanuelamattioli6743 When my grandparents came over to the US, they left their history behind. On purpose. They cut us off from our history and language because, as they would say, "We are Americans now, we speak English." My family would not even talk about the 'old country'. I didn't know I was of Tuscan descent until I recently had a DNA test. Then, my aunt admitted, "Oh yeah, dad was from Northern Italy." Grrrr - when were you going to tell me THAT? I thought everyone in my family was Sicilian (Taormina and Messina). My Polish side was the same business, same game. I understand what you are saying 100%. Many Americans slept through their education and what you observed about Italian-Americans is true for a huge variety of backgrounds. This why I glean what I can from channels like this one, Pasta Grannies, Pasta Grammer and others. Yes, you are right, we are on the outside looking in. Just the same, some of us are desperately seeking our heritage whatever way we can.

@@oxigenarian9763 I agree with you 'cause a language unites a Country.You can also attend a course in Italian language, just to get closer to your roots.I'm Itaiian but I speak English,French,German and Spanish so I can communicate and understand without being isolated.My second language is English and i use it at work as wells as French 'cause , I'm an interpreter and translator.Tuscany or Toscana, in Italian, is in Central and not in Northern Italy.I'm from Bologna,Emilia-Romagna, but my mother was from Palermo, Sicily,Sicilia in Italian.Bye from Bologna, Northern Italy

In realtà per imparare l'inglese, secondo me, non importa quale liceo fai (tanto lo studi in tutti i licei) l'importante è che a te interessi impararlo e ti sforzi per farlo anche al di fuori della scuola in sé.

So che non lo hai chiesto a me, però ti posso parlare per mia esperienza personale di studente del liceo di quinto anno. Posso dirti che ciò che veramente è importante è fare dei corsi extrascolastici con certificazione (Pet, First, ecc.), o almeno questo è ciò che mi ha aiutato ad imparare molto meglio l'inglese e ad apprezzarlo anche di più. In aggiunta posso dirti che una mia compagna di classe ha fatto un'esperienza in America e non ha riscontrato alcun problema per la lingua. In definitiva quindi, a mio parere, la scuola conta poco per l'inglese, il linguistico può essere una buona scelta per imparare una terza lingua.

nono per niente, quello è solo uno stereotipo dei film e basta. In realtà i ragazzi lì sono tutti molto gentili e aperti.
