This is a great idea for taking in a top that is to big as well. My daughter thrifts a lot of clothes, and I find myself trying to fit them to her. She tends to go for flowing styles dresses in shear fabric. I have used this by shiring the sides and back with elastic cording. It helps to fit the top and keeps the bust from gaping.

Just a suggestion. When sewing use a table or move your desk away from the wall. Will be easier when you have alot of fabric going to the back of your machine
