One of my favorite Christmas Hymns written by Martin Luther, who understood the true meaning of Christ's birth.

This must be one of the most beautiful hymns I've ever heard. Every time I come to the line, "And then from death awaken me, that these mine eyes with joy may see, O Son of God, thy glorious face!" it brings tears to my eyes

I play the chords house of the rising sun on our chapel organ using the Vox Humana and tremulant

An other simpler version one our family spoke together at mealtime…..’ come Lord Jesus be our guest to all this food to us be blessed, Amen’

As a old am tradional lutheran. There was and is no better hearing the lutheran congregation singing the advent and Christmas hymns along with a wonderful pipe organ. They know how to sing these beautiful hymms. Brings me to tears to hear this wonderful organ playing.

This happened at my congregation a few months ago during the Agnus Dei. Organ failed right at the beginning, but we kept singing with out skipping a beat.

one of my favorite hymns honestly. I know it's not in a minor key or written by a german composer, but the words/tune are still amazing

I sometimes get tired of listening to organ music because it seems homogeneous. But your use of all the stops and swells and registers (the full capabilities of the instrument; sorry, woodwind player here so I can’t ID much!)- plus your playing, the improvisations-make this a really fun and interesting piece. Thanks for sharing.
