The first year I had a spider mite infestation they destroyed my entire crop of tomatoes before I realised what it was - also when I saw webs, and then I looked closer and saw millions of microscopic red spiders to my horror... We have dry, hot summers, and they really do LOVE dry, warm/hot conditions. In my experience neem does not work, and neither does other sprays. The best thing really is just to 1) try an avoid leaving things too dry, and 2) spray/wipe them off with water (but do it during the day so the leaves can dry before night time - you don't want to fungal issues). If you keep on top of it (like doing it once or twice a week) you'll stop them from taking over. Another thing to try that I have not tried, but have heard good reviews of, is to buy predatory mites that feed on spider mites. (But then you can't spray/wipe, because you'll get rid of the predatory mites as well).

The horrible things !! 😭. Nightmare, interesting to hear about your experience of trying to control them , I think the washing the plant method worked the best but not great if you have 100s of plants, I only have a few ! So many hurdles to jump to keep them alive 🤣. Ah yes I did hear about the predator mites but didn't look into it! Thanks for your comment 🤗

I am totally doing my tomatoes in my poly tunnel next year as it’s too much work controlling them outside 😂. I spent what seemed like hours pruning my tomato plant jungle. Oh shame about the strawberries 🍓 I did the same with some “plants” I bought and 90% died 🤦‍♀️. Hope the roots work. You could pick them off and put out in the wild. I have 1 pepper on 8 plants 😂 but there’s always next year. Spider mite are brutal so I hope you got them all. Have a super weekend guys great update, Ali 🌞🥵🇨🇦

We can also do as much as we can but nature has it's own way of doing things, hopefully a pepper or two more will appear for you ! Have a lovely week :)

@@daniandjoanna I bought him a used Volvo V50 after he passed his driving test. In 2 years, between Poland, Germany where he studied, Denmark where he currently studies and the Balkans, he did almost 100 thousand km. We have already replaced the clutch set, gearbox, shock absorbers, brake discs, wishbones and many other elements. The repairs exceeded the value of the car, but these are operational repairs. I think that the V50 is a very solid car and it is worth investing in it.
