In this video I am using one of the Handler models to showcase how I paint my Harlow 1st Reaction Force using muted military tones and a quick and easy NMM (non metallic metal) Chapter Selec...

How to Paint White Armor (ARC Trooper Tutorial)
Love seeing Song represented. Interested in seeing any Martel or Brotherhood units in the future.
New subscriber here. Great battle report. Excited to be part of this community. Very interested in starting this game.
Excited to have you aboard! You should definitely dive into BLKOUT!
Hey m8 if I may make a suggestion, at the start when saying you used a zenithal highlight & telling people if they don't know what that is look it up. I would suggest instead to give them a very brief explanation ie. "that means I prime it black, then hit it with a white primer from above on an angle." then if you want you could add - "If you want to know more look it up, there's plenty of videos out there, or you could let me know in the comments below if you'd like me to do a video explaining". Just a suggestion as some people may actually leave the video to find out what a zenithal highlight is & not make it back, also asking if you should do one can help with viewer engagement.
Great thoughts man! I really appreciate the feedback and you taking the time to provide a very well thought out and useful suggestion to improve content! That only helps the channel get better!
@@mattsminiprob No worries keep up the hard work mate & I'm sure the channel will continue to grow.
Oh yeah, that's an instant sub. Insane editing, and who doesn't love BLKOUT?!
Thank you! BLKOUT is definitely our current favorite game
Armor roll's for DAYS!!!
There were a lot of critical armor rolls and those Golems don't go down easy!
Lovely board set up and cool report style. Very atmospheric. 😎 We're you using 2 golem teams (4 golem models)? Looked like it, but that could have been the cinematic filming. I'm now wondering if we've been playing UN wrong, I thought it was only one team allowed (despite being 4 models in the set.) Although we've always played matched play forces rules. 3 teams and 1 handler.
Thank you! Yes we were using 2 Golem units. Harlow brought the Assault Handler so to even the odds and give both sides 4 units we added in the second unit of Golems
@mattsminiprob Nothing wrong with trying things out for a casual or scenario game. Plus, at least the extra models got some use. Happy to know I haven't missed another rule. 🤣
I enjoy trying different things and making homebrew rules/scenarios to keep things interesting
Man that warsenal terrain is fire. I need to get some. Love that UN getting some spotlight and soon IMPACT. Some awesome lore for IMPACT has me super excited for Boone!
I'm loving the Warsenal terrain...especially the fact it is prepainted! Can't wait to do some videos with Boone and UN (and new Dusters!)
LOVE the lore man. Great job. (UN are busted - Adam)
UN have been fun to play around with. Golem's are so hard to take down!
Love the new setup!
Thank you! Hopefully the painting tutorials are a little clearer now with more close up work
Great video! It's awesome to see you putting out content. I'm looking forward to more
Thanks man! It's been nice to get back into the swing of it
Loved the video and the type of model you painted.
Thank you! It was a fun one
Looks great. Thank you for such a clear and close to video.
Thanks man! I'm glad you enjoyed it
Love it. Are you going to do the assault handler for manticor next? 😁
That sounds like a great idea! I need to get on those because as soon as I get the new Impact models I want to do some videos painting them up
@ IMPACT HYPE. I forsee Duster painting guides soon then? 👀. I find i’m still deciding on whether i want a full black and red manticor or some other colors for their plate vests and shoulder guards with the black. The con to the detail of blkout models is that it’s hard to read what part is what with all the doodads
I'm really excited to work with the new Dusters. I think we may do a single guide that covers how to do a clean version and a more beat up version I like the all black with red accents because I think it's fun to find ways to paint different kinds of black. Separating armor from clothing
This was awesome!
Thank you! We are currently editing another BLKOUT Battle Report video and it will be longer, better production and more entertaining!
In 3:39 you throw a grenade , i thaught that i throw 2 dices , skillcheck , you only throw one dice . Maybe i misunderstood the rules ?
You didn't misunderstand as well. That was one (out of many) mistakes that I made. Great job catching it and thanks for letting me know!
Good batrep! Its always good to see more BLKOUT, especially with such high production value and physical miniatures instead of TTS. Clear and slow voiceover makes it ideal for non native speakers too (personally i upped the playback to 1.25x but thats purely personal preference).
Thank you and I appreciate the feedback! I have some plans in motion to up the production value even more for the next battle report!
Yes Blkout rocks!
It's currently my favorite game. Fresh aesthetic and game play from everything else I play/paint
Models look great! Sweet Batrep... I second more Blkout... I'll sub n wait
Thanks man! You won't have to wait too long!
You have a new subscriber. Awesome work. Make more BLKOUT please.
Thank you, I appreciate you subbing! Lots more BLKOUT content in the works that should be dropping in the next couple weeks!
Really loved it. Keep it up.
Thank you! I have plenty of ideas for how we are going to improve in the next few videos as well!
Keep it going looking great!!!
Thanks dude!
What's the terrain you used? Where'd you get it?
The terrain I'm using is a mix of Corvus Terrain that I printed, TT Combat mdf and some Games Workshop stuff for scatter
impresionante, muy buen trabajo, 10/10
¡muchas gracias!
Wooooo more BLKOUT
And still more to come!
I was able to get there using Harlow speed . I was teaching a new player who caught onto manticores tankiness quickly. So I changed the victory conditions that allowed him to continue playing and yeah I got mowed down!
But it was fun! You know it’s a great game when you lost and you still had fun😂
Manticor can definitely seem overpowered because they are easy and straightforward to use. I totally mismanaged Harlows speed and didn't concentrate fire well enough
Great video man! Stoked to be a part of the community. Everything in the video was awesome. My one idea you could add is maybe a top down view of the map after each battle round to see where units have shifted to and how many are left. Look forward to more!
Thank you! I totally agree with more top down shots. I realized as I was editing it that there isn't a good feel for how the overall battle is playing out. I think I'll use more Tactical shots in the next one that shows overall movement as well as firing lanes
You did a great job encapsulating the "feel" of the game though. Keep up the great work! @@mattsminiprob
Awesome stuff! Looking forward to what come next.
Thanks man! Coming from a seasoned bat rep creator like you that means a lot (you were actually the one that got me into Stat Wars Legion!)
Great job! I played a buddy in similar scenario this past Friday. Similar results this game is awesome. Fast and brutal!
I love the speed and brutality of the game! I miss played it as Harlow by not moving forward faster and being more aggressive getting onto points of interest
hell fucking yea I love this style of battle reports makes it so much more interesting to watch a tiny idea for you when a model is killed maybe edit in some blood splatter or something just cause why not other then that can't wait for the next one
Thanks dude! That's a great idea! I plan on using more overhead shots of the battle so the viewer gets a better idea of what is going on tactically and how movement and shooting are impacting the overall fight
Awesome work this game looks so fun!
It really is! You definitely need to check it out!
Very good report! I look forward to more :)
Thanks! I think the next report will feature UN and some Handlers...
This was so much fun! felt like watching a movie. My fav characters also Tor and Shrike!
Shrike is extremely underrated! I wish GW would add more Raven Guard named characters
The White and Red pads were done off screen with an airbrush. I am just wondering what colors you used? Bold titanium white I am guessing for the white, but did you layer this with anything? did you highlight it at all? not sure on the steps here. For the Red, the same question, which red or reds is it? did you layer it with other reds? highlight it? not sure. thanks!
Great questions. For the red I started from Burnt Red and moved onto Bold Pyrrole Red and finally into a little Aldebaaran Red. For the white I started with Bright Neutral Grey and moved into Bold Titatium White. All of those colors are by Pro Acryl except for Aldebaaran Red which is by Scale 75
29:14 This says Bold Pyrrole Red again but it's a bright blue, which color is it supposed to be?
That would be Mediterranean Blue or Sky Blue by Scale75
Few Questions: What are you sticking them to the base with? putty? what kind of putty? Citadel paint handles? are they good? do you like other brands? I noticed on the arms and cape for example you are painting kind of one side, do you finish all the work and then flip the piece over and go back through the process? Edit: You mention that there is a Pro Acryl black? shade you prefer over Nuln Oil, what is it called?
@RAINBOWBEARMAN lots of good questions! I use gorilla tack putty, lots of other painters drill and pin models with metal wire and cork. I like the old Citadel painters for their ergonomic design, but their V2 I think is a major step down. When I am doing models with separate parts I don't focus heavily on areas that will be in shadow until I attach them all together and I can see where the light and shadow will fall. Be carefull when you put a painted part of a model in putty because it can pull the paint off (especially the longer you leave it on). Pro Acryl/Monument Hobbies black wash is literally called Black Wash lol...and I absolutely love it!
@@mattsminiprob Awesome thank you! :)
@@mattsminiprob Another question. I know there are a million of them out there, and there is probably very little difference but which black primer do you use? Non Airbrush if you can recommend one.
@RAINBOWBEARMAN I do all my priming through an airbrush, but I've heard good things about AKs and Colour Forge primer cans. I have used Krylon and Rustoluem and didn't have a problem with them. I use the airbrush because the temp and humidity doesn't affect the primer
@@mattsminiprob Thank you
thank you for the paint list. helps a lot. I need to buy everything fresh - recently moved and lost all my supplies. which brushes do you use here? what do you think I should buy in order to paint this exact model. -- this is the model I plan to start with for new Imp Knights army.
@RAINBOWBEARMAN I use Artis Opus brushes. I highly recommend getting some of their drybrushes because they are simply the best out there. Other great options for high quality brushes are Rosemary and Co, Raphael 8404 or Winsor and Newton 7s. Those are all good brushes, but expensive because they aren't synthetic
@@mattsminiprob thank you very much. which sizes should I start with?
@RAINBOWBEARMAN for most brands a 2 is a do all size. For Artis Opus I think the 3 can do most anything
@@mattsminiprob thank you
@@RAINBOWBEARMAN my pleasure! I'm also happy to answer questions or just chat about hobby stuff
really like this guide, I think I want some of the gold parts, like the emblems on the legs and such to be a little brighter but otherwise I like their look
@@RAINBOWBEARMAN thank you! Another great way to add depth to gold is to use a series of washes to make the shadowed area darker. I was going for a more muted gold here, but it would definitely look great to punch the brightness up on some of the details!
That was phenomenal, I actually hit save to later since the graphics were so well executed and watched it a couple of days later when I had the time. Amazing cut through with so many different battle report options available on youtube. Thanks for a great watch
Thank you! I really appreciate that! There will be another battle report out this week, just have to finish the audio editing and final tweaks
Great Battle Report, I really enjoy the format and of course my Raven Guard won, which is rare.
Thank you! It's always nice when the Raven Guard catch a win!
whats the trick to not using primer in this video
I'm not sure I understand the question. I did use primer on this model. I always prime my miniatures and give the primer a solid 24 hours to set before I paint
@@mattsminiprob oh, mb. fyi I did skip through the video but also it did look the same as when i unboxed it. sorry.
@joejoe1711 no problem dude! I use Monument Hobbies black primer which is very matte so it may look different
nice work, can you do this for SW Legion?
I would love to! I would just need to get my Legion armies all painted lol
I just rewatched this and Gravis armor is so good. That Assault Intercessor vs Heavy Intercessor fight showed a lot. The Assault Intercessors really got bloodied. And how much damage the Aggressors absorbed was impressive.
I was shocked how well the Heavy Intercessors basically shrugged off the charging Assault Intercessors. I was also pleasantly surprised with how hard Tor Garadon hit in melee...especially against a Gravis unit
@@mattsminiprob I don't play, just watch the batreps. But the only thing holding Heavy Intercessors back is a close combat weapon on the Sergeant. Give the man a power sword or powerfist or something. But other than that they seem to be really good.
@XHobbiesPrime I think they've done that purposefully so they don't overtake Aggressors. They need to be less than optimal in melee because of their range and tankinesa
@@mattsminiprob I think one close combat weapon wouldn't make them overshadow the Aggressors. but it would surely raise the cost of Heavy Intercessors. So maybe better to leave them as is.
I really enjoyed this and subbed in the hopes of seeing more battlereports like this.
Thank you dude! Hopefully we will have another report in this style in the next couple weeks
2 of my fav loyalist chapters clashing 😍😍😍
Easily two of the coolest chapters. I'd put Space Wolves in there to round out my 3 favorites
@@mattsminiprob oh yeah, 100%!
The details on the dreads is crisp, and the yellow overall is fantastic!
Thank you man! I appreciate that and actually have another video that shows exactly how I do my yellow power armor
