Festive Chestnut Roast #recipes
My own, go-to recipe for chestnut roast which makes a welcome change to salmon or turkey at any celebration. This can be prepped anytime before the holidays and safely stored in the refrigerator or the freezer if you don't need it right away. It should freeze well for at least 3 months. What is your favourite Christmas meal?

Very nice & informative video, many thanks to you. This stuff will come to canada if it is not already here. If the animal consumes it enough times it has to get into the meat as well as the milk. I have long heard that we are what we eat, i assume that this goes for many eating creatures, human or otherwise. If a pregnant human mom eats or drinks something not quite righr, it is passed onto the little one, hence, alcohol fetal syndrome among other things including the much beloved thalidomide which affected a whole generation.i feel strongly for the animals which is why i went vegetarian (not vegan) at about 65 yrs, am now 76 & still kicking along, i eat no meat, fowl or fish whatever, nothing to do with the planet which seems just fine to my rheumy olde eyes. These reptiles in human form have no right to decide for the rest of us & that's from wrecking our food to poking stuff into us against our collective wills to spraying our skies with heaven knows what, all for our own benefit, BULL$#!+. We need desperately to be rid of every last one of these despicable wastes of skin. No violence though please, just a gentle but permanent removal. Sorry for being long winded but this really gets me going, i never thought as a wild & mostly carefree kid that i would be living this type of world in my final years on this otherwise most beautiful planet on which we humans are so blessed to live. Thanks again, merry christmas & a most grande new year, ric, ontario canada.
@@ricbarnes6272 thank you so much for watching my video and taking the time to share your thoughts, experiences and greetings and we certainly are what we eat. We live in a dark world right now but soon the light will start to dhine through. I just know it. Wishing you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and abundant 2025. ❤️
@catevanscuisine dear katherine, if i may be so familiar upon such short aquaintance, this strikes me as yet another irony in the journey of life. I noted your last name as quite a coincidence as it also happens to be my birth name. I was formally adopted by my mom & dad being given my new name as Barnes , a name of which i carry proudly today, however, the name of Evans has shown up in my adopted family having been the maiden name of my adopted dads' mother. Coincidences never cease to amaze me, especially as there have been more along that line in my former marriage. Life is certainly interesting & can be quite entertaining. Thanks if you read this, truly yours, ric, ontario canada.
@ricbarnes6272 Thank you for sharing your story, Ric. Serendipity works in mysyerious ways. My husband is an Evans and I took his name. My dad was given his stepfather's name who (unlike my dad) wasn't a nice man so I was pleased to have an ooportunity to change my name! Dan's Evans family came from Bridgend and Camarthen in the valleys. ❤️
Why are you buying tomatoes in the winter? I don't understand. I found your vlog informative, however for someone who is into their food, I find it depressing not being aware tomatoes aren't in season and where it might have been grown.
@@regulawright5341 Thanks for watching my vid and for your comments. I do not need to justify my choices, nor do you. I buy many seasonal goodies but happen to be very fond of tomatoes and salad and for the avoidance of doubt grow salad ingredients all year round in my garden. In this case I was supporting a small local business by buying ONE special Heritage tomato (grown in Spain) and a few local goodies. You are of course entitled to your opinion but if an out-of-season tomato is all we have to worry about, as a collective we have a long way to go.
Now thats a Christmassy feel there. 🎄
It's tasty and nutritious!

1. Bill Gates in NOT involved with Bovear.....a simple internet fact check will confirm this. 2. Arla does not add sweeteners, favouring or colourings to the liquid milk you buy in the supermarket 3. Bovear has "undergone rigorous safety assessments as part of the FSA's market authorisation process, and is approved for use in the UK" as well as 55 other countries.....What do you know about this product that the UK food agency doesn't? 4. The dangers you have read out are those for when you are handling 'raw' Bovear. Presumably you are happy to eat fruit and veg sprayed with pesticides that will have will have similar warnings for the farmer when handling these products. 5. So we should have a national debate for 'every' additive added to food should we? Totally impractical but maybe we could have an expert body that would vet them on our behalf? Oh we have...the Food Agency I'm not an employee of Arla but have worked in the industry for many years I could only stomach watching for about 16 mins but turned off after you started mixing up Methane and CO2....yes you do need a rocket scientist to explain it to you. Conspiracy theory, conspiracy theory, conspiracy theory....

Grahams Gold Top and Trewithen milk in Trewithen packaging is available in Tesco stores. Longley Farm is also safe, as is Farmfoods own label which is produced by Trewithen unless anything has changed. Waitrose own brand has also been confirmed safe to use AT THE MOMENT. Watch out for LS10 postcode which is Arla UK HQ. Safe suppliers can be found on foodfindershub.co.uk and nobovaer.com

Thank you for all you are doing, we are coming together and helping each other while we under attack by those who do not have our interests at heart. Please carry on with your farming and food videos. We need to find out what Bovaer is going into as Arla owns lots of companies which means that the milk will be used in lots of different types of foods. It has, sadly, become necessary to read the ingredients of all the products you buy.
@@simonenyman4077 thank you so much for your kind comments. I intend to email Arla UK to ask them to publish the list of those 30 farmers taking part in the trial as we the public have the right to know what is going in our food and how that food is being produced before it reaches our tables so that we can make our own informed choices and decisions about where we shop and what we eat. I was hoping to make an FOI request, however Arla UK is no longer a public company for some time now (convenient eh?l) and whatever the case any information is likely to be redacted or even denied (not a wise move imho) but it's worth a try. Lidl have still not responded. Unsurprising eh? Please see my community post from yesterday, the postcode on the packaging says it all anyway.
@@simonenyman4077 I also think it might be wise to avoid buying any non-organic chocolate, dairy, beefy delights, ready meals and snacks for the time being unless we feel confident about their source. Let all those festive Brie cheese wheels and canapes stay stacked up on the supermarket shelves! Perhaps we need to launch a petition to ask for clear labelling and/or hold Arla to account. What do you think? Or has one been started?
Thank you for your advice. Much appreciated. @@catevanscuisine
Can confirm Wyke Dairies and the cheeses Jarlsberg, Mexicana, Applewood and llchester, but not the Edam in the llchester net assortment by Norseland do not use milk from cows dosed with Bovaer.
@tonybeck7399 thank you so much for that information. 💖
So which milk name brand that does not contain bovaer any suggestions?
Grahams Dairies (available at Tesco or direct), McQueens, many independents including Wyke Farms, Longley Farm and Riverford Organic. Please go to foodfindershub.co.uk or one of the other websites mentioned in the video to get your supplies.

I have stopped buying Arla products, Anchor Butter and Asda longlife milk which is an Arla product. I have contacted a local dairy voa email and awaiting a reply. Thank you for the information you have provided which I shall share. If there is any climate emergency then it is being orchestrated by various globalist govts imo. What we see here with the farmers is no different to the gold rush era. That is, back then greedy others used fires and floods to drive gold prospectors off their land so they could mine all the gold for themselves, ie, same old ploy used again and again over the decades.
Gates should not be allowed near food full stop!!!
'Graham's Family Dairy' have told me they'll not use B for their products. TBH, we're ALWAYS being lied to now. It's like we're trapped in a maze and each time we think we see an escape route, a gate slams down to force us to an intended direction. The whole Climate Change human causation story is a lie too. Climate Change is a fact and it'll get serious soon, but no organisms are responsible for it; it's cyclical and has always occured. We've had many, many Ice Ages, Interglacial Periods, Solar Micronovae and Geomagnetic Pole Excursions. What's happening now is population reduction and corraling, nothing less.
@spindelnett6315 Grahams are safe - for now. Many farmers wish to distance themselves from the WEF nonsense. We need to support them direct so they do not feel forced to accept the Arla bribes to stay afloat.
Just got back from Sainsbury’s {Sunday} no semi skimmed fart free milk on the shelves, only the chemical stuff lots of too 🏴
@@philipelliott7966 Dan and I had a similar experience today too. All Lidl dairy is almost definitely now Arla as the postcode on packaging is LS10. Nor have they yet replied to my message.
