I am wondering if using fashenhues is basically the same as Duncan? I purchased fashenhue as I couldn’t find the colors in Duncan i liked and apprehensive trying them.

Hi Brenda, thank you so much for this informative video. I buy bisque online all the time most the time it is cleaned good. But sometimes it is completely awful. I am so glad you showed how to clean greenware properly. I thought it might have been a good idea to put in a short clip of how a mold is poured so that people can see what actually goes into getting a piece of greenware.

Love your videos! My mother started doing ceramics in '63 at Camp Lejeune. She feels the same about kilns. Non-automatic only for her. She bought a new electronic one when they first came out. It was used very briefly and then moved to a shed. Been there ever since.

How do you know when you're done with a color?

Why do you base coat with black? Do you need to do that or can you base coat with any other color?

This is great. But my gnomes have small eyes. Technique must be different? I am using only white and black?

Waterproof PVA glue used in construction etc doesn't work, I've tried 3 different glues all waterproof glue and not one of them has Cracked! I'm now going to use some really cheap washable PVA to see if that works. Thank you for sharing your video I've learnt loads👍😷👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The brushes are boar bristle brushes for drybrushing.

The paint used is Duncan and the finished piece is sprayed with a matt aerosol sealer.

So this is dry brushing ? I’ve never seen this before, I love it, it’s precious. So you base coated in the aqua, Then dry brush the different colors on, then you’ll fry them ? Do you have instructions and a colored picture ?👍💕

Y’all wouldn’t have any references pictures of an elephant, dressed for a parade ,like in India ? I’m going To help a man get one painted, he’s getting a piece of glass for a table top for it. I’m not great on colors, I’ve looked in all my books, but the one I found just too plain, I want it to look real nice for him. My mother in law Had a couple of kilns, lots and lots of molds and bisque, she stared having health problems , so she donated Her larger kiln, and tons of the molds and bisque to the church, they were very proud, to open up for the kids and adults to have classes, but she gave me also tons of things for our center to paint on, I still have an Elvis to Paint some day, she wanted me to do it for my sister in law, I’m so afraid of messing him up. He’s been miss Placed for a few years in my garage, I was so happy, I just knew it had been lost forever. We couldn’t take the Other kiln, I don’t have the foggiest idea of what to really do with any of this . Our building would have to be Wired, and we have no room. So the people would just get and item and paint it. But it’s like the blind leading The blind. But we had books they could use to help with colors. We had to close down the center twice because Just opened up the first of March 2021. I haven’t been able to go back, diabetes has gotten me down. I’m Sorry I’ve rattled on, but y’all are so good I pray you stay with it, and you have helped me, in what and how to Do things, even if I keep going back for help. Thanks a million.👍👍💕🥰

Just love you channel, everything is so very well done, I remember getting something from the ceramic show When I finally open it up, I found tiny chips, some details were cleaned away, it’s very disappointing, I should have been there to check tings, but I was taking a class, and I had a couple of large orders to take home, it all turned out ok, just had to work a little harder, enjoyed it anyway. Have you been to any shows in Texas ? Y’all do such, good work very beautiful, quality work and lessons are wonderful 👍👍💕♥️🥰

I think these are great things for our future artist. The computer has taken over, younger generation to the Older ones would just love creating for gifts to pass on, and remember the days when… I’m so happy some People are still hanging in, doing what you love. I remember when they were shops all over. We had craft shops We’re people would get together make a weekend of it buy there handmade items to take back home, gifts Or get ideas to share, Good old days♥️ I did a lot of painting those days, now I’d like to get back into ceramics And help others I might could pass on about the world my I pad has opened up for me, I’m hoping ceramics Never die, just more people keep hanging in.👍💕🥰

Everything looks wrapped very well, very neat. Do y’all still have boxes you mail out ? Been so long since I’ve Done ceramic, I’ve forgotten a lot, I do have a shop I’ll take girls from the Sr Center, so they can get new pieces But the shop doesn’t have room to hold any classes, so we try to spend time together during the week, to Work on our projects.
