Treatment vs At-Home Care for Varicose Veins
Currently, the only way to get rid of varicose veins is through medical treatment.
Fortunately, modern treatments like EVLA do not require incisions, general anaesthesia, or a long hospital stay.

How much ?
Hi Grace, thanks for reaching out! Compression stockings costs can vary quite a bit depending on the manufacturer. We recommend Bauerfeind to our patients, as the company pioneered medical compression and manufactures high-quality stockings fully in-house. While pharmacy brands may be cheaper, they may not have suitable sizing options or material quality. See Bauerfeind's range: bauerfeind.com.au/collections/medical-compression If you'd like to enquire about medical varicose vein treatment, call us on 04 2010 2637.
nice😍😍😍
Spot on true
I think my treatment wasn't done in a proper way, though the hospital authorities told me that they used high equipment and they charged me huge amount too
Hello, thanks for reaching out! We are sorry to hear about your experience with in-hospital varicose vein treatment. If you'd like to seek a second opinion, don't hesitate to reach out to our team on 13 83467. We frequently see patients who have had vascular surgery.
Hey, Well enjoyed🙌! I'm not really sure if it is the best time to ask but, I was wondering if I could help you create a better distribution by working on post-production like better storytelling through Edits, Keywords, think catchy intros and outros, or even some engaging short clips! Would love to chat if you're interested.
Is there a higher chance of getting blood clotts after treatment
Hi Linda, great to see you again in our comments! The risk of blood clots after treatments like EVLA is very, very minimal (less than 1%). The risk of clotting after treatment is also very minimal. Our medical team may recommend steps like drinking plenty of water before the procedure, pausing certain medications, and wearing compression socks after treatment to reduce the risk further. You can learn more here: www.theveininstitute.com.au/can-varicose-vein-treatments-cause-blood-clots/
Can u walk more aswel?
Hi Linda, thanks for your inquiry! Once your veins are treated, it is recommended that you walk for at least 30 minutes a day for up to 2 weeks. The exercise boosts circulation without straining your healing veins. There generally is no limit on how much you can walk. If you have any concerns or experience discomfort while walking, speak with your vein doctor. You can learn more here: www.theveininstitute.com.au/the-best-exercises-for-varicose-veins/

Any dehydration occurs after procedure?
Hi, thanks for your inquiry! Endovenous Laser Ablation for varicose veins does not cause dehydration. If you'd like to learn more about the procedure, you can do so here: www.theveininstitute.com.au/endovenous-laser-ablation-evla/

This is not Right to do scanning promise
Hi, thanks for reaching out. Ultrasound scans for varicose veins are used to determine the size and location of varicose veins as well as the presence of reflux (i.e., whether the tiny valves in the veins can stop the backward flow of blood). You can learn more about varicose vein scans here: www.theveininstitute.com.au/varicose-vein-legs-scan/
My comment is gunna be long so i apologize but i have a question, to make a long story short i cane out of dka last year in October and ever since then my right leg has felt heavier then normal. Almost like the top portion of my leg is numbish but i can still walk, but i cant go up my stairs on my right leg and i have poor balance with it. I have to wear a brace on it otherwise i risk falling. My doctor's have done xrays and all but nothing is broken, ive done physical therapy but its not improving. They think it may be a nerve issue, would this nerve test be able to give them the answer if it is my nerve?
Hi, thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not treat nerve issues - our focus is varicose veins in the legs. Our ultrasound scan is venous, designed for the diagnosis of vein disorders. We would advise following up with your clinician on potential treatment options for your condition. We hope you find the answers you need and wish you a speedy recovery.
Misleading!
Hi, thanks for reaching out. Can you elaborate on what you mean by misleading? We'd love to review the contents and provide more information or clarity where necessary.
Is this only for veins or muscle as well?
Hi, thanks for your inquiry! While ultrasound can be used to see musculoskeletal issues like torn muscle fibres, venous ultrasound is used specifically for the diagnosis of vein disorders. If you have any further questions about our ultrasound scanning process, give us a call at 13 VEINS (that's 13 83467).
how much it cost for ELVA?
Hi Dyenas, thanks for your inquiry! Our EVLA treatment plan costs can vary depending on your vein condition, if you need follow-up sclerotherapy sessions, and if you need to treat one or both legs. You can see our general pricing guide here: www.theveininstitute.com.au/pricing/. For an accurate quote, you'll need to get assessed by one of our doctors. To do so, book a consultation by calling 13 VEINS (13 83467).
He missed the vain, actually 😢
Very nice work , please can u advice me a good company and machine for endovenous laser ablation
I'm actually terrified of these procedures. I know I need it. But people's reviews are scaring me out of it. Permanent lymphedema..... Nerve damage.... blood clots.... pain when standing... ect... it's overwhelming. Is there any other way.
Hi Bowtech, thanks for reaching out. There are always risks with medical treatments, but it is best to discuss these personally with a doctor if you are concerned. Leaving varicose veins untreated can also lead to complications, so we strongly recommend seeking specialist advice. If you'd like to discuss your options, give us a call at 13 VEINS (that's 13 83467).
@@TheVeinInstitute yes I'm aware of leaving them untreated. Unfortunately studying these procedures I just don't feel there safe or a solution. Evlt initially works. But according to the stats for long term. It can cause way more issues. Sclerotherapy can cause blood clots also. And alot of new veins can form. Ty. Venaseal is even worse and dangerous

Is there a high risk of peroneal nerve damage from vein removal phelebectomy? Around knee shin or ankle? Ive reaad of possible permanent disability. Is there anyway to avoid this
I suggest endovenous laser ablation followed by sclerotherapy and compression therapy it would be an alternative
So youre just gonna film the doctor himself but not the actual point of this video
Avoid long periods of sittings and standings? So what do i have to do? Flying? 🤷♂
Hi @beslemeto, thanks for reaching out! If your profession requires long hours of sitting or standing, vein specialists advise you to take breaks when you can to move around. You can try some squats, calf raises, or a short walk to get some water. Hope this helps :)

Can it help with spider veins?
Hi, thank you for your inquiry! Apple cider vinegar may help temporarily reduce the appearance and symptoms of spider veins, but this has not been clinically proven. To treat and get rid of spider veins, you'll need cosmetic intervention by a qualified professional. We hope this helps.
what a bunch of bullshit, foh.
Im so confused. If evlt is supposed to eliminate your bulging veins then why is a phelebectomy done? Also if evlt does work and your veins go down. Isnt not good that they are still varicose when they go back down?
Hi bowtech, thanks for your enquiry. When treating varicose veins, the main large branch can be sealed with Endovenous Laser Ablation (for your body to then break down and absorb) or removed via surgical stripping. The smaller and more complex side branches can then either be sealed through sclerotherapy or removed via phlebectomy. You can learn more here: www.theveininstitute.com.au/varicose-vein-treatments/. To see which option would be best for you, we'd recommend booking a consultation with a vein doctor.
What are the chances of swelling or clots?
Hi @bowtech1020, thanks for your inquiry. After a minimally invasive procedure like Laser Ablation, clot risk is minimal (less than 1%, or around 1 in 10000). Swelling is unlikely after sclerotherapy, ClariVein, and Medical Superglue treatments. But it is to be expected after Laser Ablation and Radiofrequency Ablation. Typically, it goes down within 3 days but may last up to a week. We provide compression bandages to help reduce swelling, which we advise you to wear for the first 24 hours after treatment. We also provide compression stockings to be worn for a few days after that. If you'd like to learn more, you can refer to our treatments page: www.theveininstitute.com.au/varicose-vein-treatments/ or contact our team at 13 VEINS (that's 13 83467).

How do u know when phelebectomy is required? And how many veins can u treat
Hi @bowtech1020, thanks for your inquiry. Whether you need phlebectomy and how many of your veins can be treated at once will depend on your initial assessment and ultrasound results. If you live in Australia, we'd encourage you to book a consultation with one of our specialists. You can do so by calling 13 VEINS (that's 13 83467) or by booking online: theveininstitute.bookings.pracsuite.com/guest
Are patients usually naked during this procedure? My doctor recently ordered this and I'm wondering how that works.
Hi jmr, thanks for your inquiry. We can't speak for other clinics, but we have the option for patients to remain in the clothing they arrived in, provided that it doesn't hinder the doctor's access to the varicose vein that's being treated. So, for example, if you're wearing a dress or shorts and the varicose vein branch is in the calf, you won't need to change. If you do need to change, we'll provide a medical gown. If you have any other questions, feel free to comment or give us a call at 13 VEINS (that's 13 83467).
Well this is the stupidest thing ever said avoid standing or sitting 🤔
Does this procedure and phelebectomy have a painful recovery. I'm worried. Will the increase blood flow to other veins cause then to go bad also. I would love to get rid of these veins but I worry phelebectomy they won't get them all and cause issues
Hi Toma, thanks for your inquiry. Endovenous Laser Ablation is a minimally invasive procedure. While it's known to cause some swelling and achiness in the few days following your treatment, patients report that these are quite manageable through over-the-counter pain relief, walking, and compression stockings. Regarding rerouted blood flow, this shouldn't create a problem as the veins are only superficial. Your body can easily redirect it and grow new vein branches. You can learn more about this process here: www.theveininstitute.com.au/varicose-veins-removal-dont-i-need-these-veins/
Kha par bantey hai kya
Is micro phelebectomy risky if u have a large vein from inner thigh to ankle? And if your really thin is there more pain
Is this just a temporary fix!? The risk of nerve damage and permanent pain really scary. For just a temporary fix. 60 percent of time new varicose veins come back. Nobody can really tell me about this procedure.
Will this method work on facial vein vessels?
Hi Aslan, thanks for your inquiry. Whether a treatment will work for you largely depends on your vein condition. We'd recommend booking a consult with a specialist.

Hi Aly, thanks for your comments! Steps like exercising, eating well, and wearing compression socks do go a long way to relieving varicose vein symptoms and can reduce the risk of developing the condition.
