Sweet ride!
Nice 👍 truck 🛻 Don’t get rid of it Just check the cap. And vacuum lines and Distributor And yo are good to go
Great video. Absolutely miss going. Haven’t been in a while. I love being featured as trail leader. Maybe the ole flying brick will be up for next years “2025”
Barn find is a term often used to disguise the actual origin and condition of an object. A lot of times it's overused.
I’d put the running boards back on in a heartbeat
Nice camper! Does it have an external propane line to connect a blackstone or grill?
Your Pulling off all the good shit on the exterior 😅
Would you happen to know the paint code for the tan
That is a gorgeous truck I have an 88 4dr 2wd Sierra classic GMC dually black w red interior red body line strips w stainless steel wheel covers I want to add full length diamond running boards Lund viser over the windshield a just put 4in diameter chrome stacks just behind the cab in the corners of the box with the turnouts aimed half way out and half-way back like the big rigs I was a semi driver for over 40yrs ANYWAY LOVE SEEING YOUR BEAUTIFUL DUALLY ENJOY IT THERE A GOOD HANDELING PICKUP TRUCK WELL HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ENJOY YOUR NEW RIG.
I am looking for one of those visors for my dually lol
Once you rebuild the old chevy you won’t look back at your fords again
Hi great review, question what size truck 350 or 250 ford or chevy gas or diesel? Thanks
Anything heavy duty should work just fine. Diesel is my preference. Only other thing I’ll suggest is to get a dually to handle the load!
Does the pack and play fit in the walkway?
Unfortunately no. We used the dinette area which worked well but you will need to secure it with some anchors.
I have the 1975 Chevy C30 crew cab and those seats would look great in it but I need to wait.
Definitely need a dually. You have to be way over payload and axle limits, especially when you add gear and especially water.
Where are you located?
If I were close enough, I'd buy the bug deflector, running boards, visor, and toolbox off you for my 82 dually.
I'm going this year. I can't freaking wait
Ahhhhh come on, what did you pay "out the door?" I just paid 70 grand for a 2023, ouch! Dry bath 10.2 with U-shaped , and generator, I will be making a video soon but I won't do a walk around.
Hello. I just came across your channel. Did you ever finish this project? I went to your page and did not see any more videos. I too would like a 55, but in better shape due to know how and budget.
Nope. Sold it. Way too much rust and not enough time. I HIGHLY suggest finding one in good shape and pay a little extra. They are out there. Every Cruiser guy has a “Pig Project” for a reason. They rarely get finished.
@MyCarGuyChris Thanks for the tips. Yeah, man, I would love to fix one up, but rather spend a little extra like you said and find a daily driver.
Do you still have this?
Unfortunately, no. Sold it after discovering it would need a rebuild
@@MyCarGuyChris damn. Sucks to hear. I’ve got a crew that’s about it’s turn. Love watching videos on others.
Yeah it was a tough decision. I had two Chevys at the time and couldn’t justify rebuilding both. I rebuilt the K20 instead! Wouldn’t mind having another C30 in the future…
Just remember to remove everything and unbolt your motor mounts and bellhousing bolts and torque converter bolts
I found a 1983 c-30 real clean truck with a diesel engine, what you guys think about that its listed at $4,000 dollars but don’t run at the moment possible engine problem
I bought mine running with engine problems for $3500. Depends on the body and what you want to do with it. There are nice ones out there that run just fine for under $7500. Cheaper than a motor swap or rebuild.
So sad the c30 is gone :(
I know… may need another one
I changed mine today and had 2 Extra screws lol 8mm and 18 mm
Oh boy. Extra screws are never fun 😂
ps , that is a great camper !
i may have missed ,,,,great video!! is this a long box dually only camper ?
This is the 10-2. On a long box SRW. Definitely recommend a dually for these campers, no question.
fj40
thanks man
Gonna ask a question very few camper special know. Name one thing that made it a camper special....I've seen it, but I bet these boys on the bandwagon have not a clue.
I just got a 1976 fj55 I was wandering where can i get same bady parts i need the rear corners. I can not find anything for my iron pig.
Classic Cruisers in Salida Colorado! Give them a call!
This is happening in my fj60. Only when it’s really cold. Gonna replace the starter.
I had mine rebuilt. A new one wouldn’t have hurt!

Hi, is there any way an adult could fit through the window into the rear truck cab?
Negative. The window doesn’t open, not a pass through.
Those generation Chev & GMC fullsize crew cab pickups are very rare nowadays, but the regular cab ones on the other hand I still see on the roads sometimes.
I'm thinking of purchasing a 10-2. How did your truck with the Single rear wheel handle with the weight of the camper? Is it OK with the single rear wheel or do you suggest a dually ?
1000% get a dually. I only went with the SRW as it was my daily driver. You may be ok with SRW if you had smaller rims and more sidewall.
@@MyCarGuyChris I see most 10-2's on Dually Trucks... Thanks so much for the advice!!!! Really appreciate it. :)
If it was possible I would make the dining area like 5 inches shorter & give that 5 inch to the bathroom Make the shower alittle bigger & move the toilet further away from the shower Maybe I'll even give 10 more inches to the bathroom The dining table & seating would just be smaller, no big deal 🤣🤭 A nice comfortable bathroom is more important to me IMHO 🤔
That truck just by the looks of it seems way too small to be carrying that shell! I hope I’m wrong- Please be careful.
Northern Lite advertises their trucks on a SRW platform. I definitely recommend a dually, no question.
Have you had any delaminating issues on the passenger side by the propane tanks?
What is physical size of batteries and how many pounds propane tanks ?
No wonder I can't find any square body chevy crew cab duallies. They all leave New Mexico.
Great presentation! Thank you for showing how it looks blacked out at the end nobody ever does that
Imagine the cost in fuel today vs then
I really like these rigs. Do to a traumatic personal crisis, I had to sell my wonderful Pleasure Way wide body sprinter camper last summer so one thing I hope you don't have a problem with is the power awning. PW uses the Fiama powered awning which has no angled support at all and is so sensitive to the slightest puff of wind it's almost useless. On top of that, we had a very upsetting issue with the power winch failing which caused the awning to deploy on it's own. We were lucky enough to discover this before leaving a campground and I was able to borrow a ladder to lash it securely to avoid a potentially terrible accident. Fiama ended up initiating a recall and sending an improved winch and that seemed to solve the problem but I/we only took one other camping trip before fate intervened and I ended up selling it. Point is-I hope your power awning serves you well as it seems like the awnings I saw a many Airstreams looked about as fail safe and secure as could be.
How many miles is on the rig
We just bought a 1983 Silverado C30 3+3. Hardly any rust. We will sell the flatbed and replace it with a box with dually fenders. We are excited!
Wow. Great find! Enjoy and happy travels!
For sell
I have a 1985 just like that
I luv this camper. U would not want 2 sneeze 4 sure would bean urself. I would definitely use this. Interesting.
Thank you for the comment, Lori! It takes some time to get used to the size but it’s amazing how much usable space is in a camper that fits in the bed of your truck!
Those 6th gen Ford F-series pickups are super rare nowadays.
